To be honest, the only people I saw complaining about the Double Tap (and BO expecially after the Doffs) were other PvP'ers. I may be wrong, but probably not by far... What would a PvE'er care about double tapped BO? Only helps them.
I can't be certain, but he may have been referring to PvE folks hitting up Ker'rat to farm or those PvE folks looking to grab the Dil/Marks from the PvP dailies.

Because said PVer goes to pUG pvp and gets vaped.
Also why would you bring a pure double tapper into the STF? you asking to be trolled. You could hardly take much fire in a T'varo let alone hold a raptor or Neghr warship in ISE

Some players will refuse to accept that, so they will complain that your single BO needs nerfing. Cryptic will be fine with that, because their intended playerbase and the design goals for the game are for folks with little to no skill or ability to buy something that will let them be Benjamin Luc Kirk and chestbump themselves in the bathroom mirror.
Hrmm, today has not been my most gracious day as far as posting goes, eh?
Thats sums up the state of the game today doesn't it?

+1, the same applies the other way from 1% to 100% in 5 secs
You know...honestly, I have less of an issue with the 100->0 because so much of that can come down to the build that a person flies into PvP (the same attack on three different players: one doesn't even notice it, one has to do something, and one is waiting to respawn)...
...but I despise the magic wand healing - hate it massively when it comes to hull heals. Meh...we're not flying organic ships, they shouldn't heal like organic beings.

Well star trek ships do in some ways have organic matter, the Gel packs they use in their electric systems for examples, but of course that wouldn't explain the yo yo healing/damage unless you were the undine lol

If you see something coming to a Rep, Lobi Store, Zen Store, Fleet, etc, etc, etc...where it involves some financial investment from a player (directly or indirectly) - then consider the core item it buffs to be the next item to be nerfed.
I always wondered what this nerf meant for other future builds/tactics. Seriously, what's to stop two tacs practicing how to beam overload a target at the same time on teamspeak; instant pop? Will the dev nerf alpha strike altogether then?
Edit: They've already nerfed GDF, soon beam overload and what have yous... What's next? All the attack patterns?
the point is it takes 2 people again, not a lone double barreled gunman.
So long as I can fire Grav Pulse -> Phaser Lance -> CRF + HYT, you guys can skrew all you want.
I surmise that the quickest way to fix (and break) the game is to reduce all weapons to BA damage (unless its a turret), change all weapon drain profiles to that of a DHC, then add special effects to said type of weapon. Then when players can't do anything for weeks, nerf heals. And after that, nerf resists. And after, make sure all the slots on a ship reflect the career it was designed for: ie escorts only have tac slots, cruisers only have eng, sci only have sci. Turn battlecruisers into cruisers, carriers into science vessels, and bops into escorts. And after that, restrict things such that your career only allows you to fly one kind of ship, unless its a lockbox ship. And after that, remove the damn skill assignment tree because giving player choice is the avenue to creating OPness.
Removal of all player choice is the only real way to balance an MMO, as proven by pandas. And keep doing that every few weeks until it takes 5 players 20mins to focus down a cruiser that cannot possibly heal itself to full. SciVes in 10mins. Escorts can die in 5s but as a token of appreciation can respawn immediately.
...
I certainly can't see that ever happening though, but knowing you guys thats the only way to fix the game... by making it unplayable for half a year for everyone. So that everyone would suffer like the pvpers do.

Oh, we can still kill with just 1 person without the double tap in less than 2 secs. The point is, everytime we do this, will cryptic just nerf bat everything because we bruised someone else's ego to the point where you'll only have elite handbags available in a T5 starbase near you?
We don't just come up with these builds over night. It takes weeks and months to perfect internally within our fleet spending time money and effort.
So, if the reward for this is Cryptic TRIBBLE over the guys that invest, something is seriously wrong.

That's all they want you to do buy/grind Marion...nerf it
Buy/grind tech doffs...nerf
Buy/grind romulan character....nerf

@Naz, no offense, but SP wasn't even around when BO double taps hit the scene. So I doubt that you spend any time or money on practicing that. As for marion, a nice DBB etc. s.a.

Wait until all of the shiny has worn off, then nerf!
There's no way that they didn't think the Subspace Integration Console was not OP when it first came out - but they got the sales they wanted from it and nerfed it.
The reason that they're hesitant to nerf things now (as was directly stated in regards to A2B/Tech DOffs) is that players have spent a significant amount on them (time, money, and EC) and changing them would be "unfair."

So broken stuff should not be fixed only because someone spent money to buy it?
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

Never claimed to be the first to use it. No offense but we were the first ones to make it function so that almost everytime we decloaked, we got a kill and survived against outstanding opponents. We generally don't even need a nuke or alpha to do it as well.
It's only now that people are starting to catch up to it.
What other groups of people can claim that?
That's where most of our time goes. Refining builds until we can't squeeze anymore out of it and making sure it fits in a team environment.

I am glad you have found your mojo back readying for the BO nerf

good luck with that. it shares cooldowns with BO
I asked, but I don't remember seeing an answer - anybody see if the following question was answered anywhere...
Will the 5s gap from BO affect the use of the Singularity Ability Energy Weapons - Singularity Overcharge?
Have you done the Ar'kif with...
Hyperflux
Refracting Cascade
BO
Iso Charge
TS
Focused Singularity

as long as its harder to do it then having 2 BOs running and having 2 DBB on auto fire
