Dear PvP Community.

Player Vs. Player gameplay still lives! Three years on PvP and is still an aspect of Star Trek Online. It evolves from the queues to private matches, it creates vast community projects, player-run fun days with unusual ship combos and tournaments that span every faction of the game!

A big thank you to all the individuals and groups that have hosted previous tournaments. They've always brought passion and a sense of vitality to our ailing community!

So we thought we'd have a crack at it...

The rules remain much the same as previous incarnations:

01. Have fun - Most important.
02. Max of four hanger bays per team, Yellowstones, Elite Interceptors & Romulan Drone Ships banned.
03. No more than 3 of the same captains and no more then 2 of the same ship types.
04. No Boarding Parties. (Broken).
05. No Dkora EMP burst. (Broken)
06. No scramble sensors with the DOFFs (Without DOFFs no issue).
07. No Grav Pulse (AOE 50 second hold not fun)
08. Once you are in 1 team an have played, you cannot move to another.
09. Temporal Inversion not allowed.
10. All fleets and random players/groups are welcome to play, individuals/groups who have personal issues stopping them from having a great time need not take part.
11. We as the host have the right to remove/add things that may be fixed or broken by Cryptic between now and the end of the tournament, that would of course come with the majority vote of all groups taking part.
11b. Universal Console - Subspace Integration Circuit - Banned.

Prize: Bragging rights and a invisible hat.

- Each match will last 30 minutes or first team to achieve 15 kills wins.
- The team with the highest kills will be counted as victors if the match lasts 30 minutes.
- The semi finals and the finale will last 45 minutes or 15 kills.

The tournament will begin on Saturday, 31th August - Time 20:00 GMT
and it will be continued on Sunday, 1st September at the same time if the previous day's events have not concluded. Use this link to calculate your time.

Please post below your team/fleet name and an @handle I can use to contact you if needed! We're setup to host 16 groups, but more can be applied if fleets would like to host multiple teams and if the numbers make any sense at all. 4 groups of 4, 4 groups of 5 etc.

As with the first No #BS Tourney, we the host will not be including a team (it's a bit weird to try and win your own tournament, after all) there is a separate thread for groups seeking players and players seeking groups, along with a list of Lag Industries players available to help fill teams if needed!

So other op stuff isn't allowed but web mines are? I don't see whats wrong with using elite drones and ss doff if people are going to be using web mines.

There will be a thread made tomorrow and linked from here to allow both individual players and under-sized teams a place to pick each other up. Plus to co-incidence with the first No BS tourney, LAG will be listing it's own compliment of PVPers for use by any groups that require extra bodies for their team

A few things:

- If yellowstone and drones are banned, elite interceptors should be banned too.

- What about danubes?

- Nukara mines?

Ah well spotted! Forgot about the interceptors, cheers! Added. Mines have been nerfed. You can easily circumvent them now.

As we saw from the last tournament's thread, arguing with the rules will lead us to spam the thread with unnecessary and irrelevant comments.

As the Lag Industries has decided to hold the next No BS tournament, they are following the ideal of No BS as the first tournament did by Naz.

Also Regulus said above if some of you need help, I guess it includes questions or issues in conenction with the rules and the toruney itself, you can do it by contacting him through the written ways.

As I read there is no rule for romulans or cloakers at all. So in this case you are allowed to bring any ship that can cloak, however only two of the same ship type is allowed to be in a team.

I was hoping you would leave your own positive mark on it

Also, have a different idea for another tournament (after this one obviously) which takes into consideration the "Balance through Saturaion" and "Tyler Durden" school of thought (All credits go to Husanak). Those ideas would be too extreme for some but opens the doors to all if they were adopted for this one.

Heh why not, its legit gameplay. People need to consider doing alot more stealth detection or some sci doing it. CPB. rotating sensor scans,etc

Technically, but they'll win a single kill. Kills and deaths are what get counted for their team to go on to the next level. So if there are 4 teams in a group, and that 5 man gets that magic 1 kill per match, they'll only have 3 kills total. How is that going to stack up against other groups that do many times more? 3 single kills over a whole day will leave them dead in the water
