It's a Andorian escort, not a Fedaration, just like the catian and the vulcan ships they are not Fedaration becouse they belong to before the Fedaration even existid.

Fedaration Chars can use the Andorian escort, but still it's not a Fedaration vessel.

Since the Andorians are one of the founding races of the Federation, I must argue that their ships are, in fact, Federation vessels. While they may be based on a design that has been in existence since before the formation of the Federation, anything being flown in the 25th Century (STO present) is going to unquestionably be Federation. As someone else mentioned, they are not traditional Starfleet vessels, so perhaps this will help: All Starfleet vessels are Federation, but not all Federation vessels are Starfleet.

My answer to this poll is very simple and always was and will be the same: Dominium and changelings.

I understand that bring changelings as playable species could be extremly hard and challenging in many terms. But - for me - just "more Dominium is better". I understand that it could be even not possible to introduce changelings playable species to this game but - even without them - just bring more Dominium to this game. "Normal Dominium faction" or some "New Dominium faction" - even without changelings - could be great.

No offense, dude, but for someone that hot for new Dominion stuff, you should know how to write it. :D

Why is the summer event ending on the fourth. The in-game calendar has it running until the 16th? Is this intentional. If so it is misleading isn't it?

Oh I see there are two different times. Maybe that should be reflected in the calendar too. Time gated prize events shouldn't be hidden in walls of text like some legal loophole. Not that it matters, really. It would just make the information more accessible to people.

I know, not sure why they don't run up to the same date. Seems silly to have the event, and then the main reason you are there stops 10 or more days from the end.

I know I wont be going back once the ship part of the event ends....

Lower level Romulan Science, and Tactical Vessels would be a nice addition especially for new players who just want to try something different other than playing the role of a Klingon, or Federation character.

I love the Romulan Class, and for ground combat, a tactical Romulan is awesome. It just sucks that I have to wait until I reach Sub Admiral to unlock a Romulan Tactical Vessel. A Tactical Romulan in an Engineering Vessel just doesn't work well.

Sure, I could just use a Tactical Federation Ship, but if I'm a Romulan, why would I want to fly a Federation Ship at all even if I did join their side? I think Spock would agree that it wouldn't be logical. Also, some ship interiors would be nice. It gets old looking at the same bridge through 30 or so levels. Maybe I'm just being picky, but these are some changes I would like to see. Just my opinion.

I voted DS9 because I love the show, but I would like to see at least a part of the gamma quadrant opened up for introducing a distinct commerce/economic angle to the game. Doff missions are nice and I can manage to trade decently on the exchange but it would be cool if you could manage a certain amount of advancement and resources through economic themed tasks and a lot of the focus on the gamma quadrant was centered around economics.

When I first started playing STO I was hoping that it was not a combat centric game and that I would be able to get by with less combat. In the end, I've had to learn to manage combat better but it would be nice if there were more other options for those of us less committed to the pew pew. :)

I have often wondered why the Ferengi home world is not in game. I think it would be great if Ferenginar could be added. How about a commerce festival in the fall? I guess the Ferengi are more of a DS9 thing.

Overall I would love to see more ships, races, and missions from TOS.

A Ferengi mini faction where the aim is to make profit through trade or marauding easy targets that would be a cool little addition to the game.

I would be a little happier even if I could actually make a Ferengi alien in all factions. I tried making a ferengi for KDF but you can't. We all know the ferengi are not so loyal to the Federation that they won't try to make their profits anywhere. They are already on Qo'nos. ;)

I think that's a great idea. You could have a "Caveat emptor" or "buyer beware" game, where you try not to get fleeced and get as many bargains as you can.

It may even be instructive for the more gullible or not very commercially minded, for TRW.

Afraid not - I still maintain that there is more potential from Voyager.

There is a LOT of untapped potential there - lots of storylines and races that could be expanded upon:

First and foremost, The Vaadwaur - 'Dragon's Teeth' definitely painted them as quite a threat and they re-established themselves VERY quickly once awakened. Their subspace corridors also mean that there isn't any reason for them NOT to appear. And whilst I realise that the books follow a different canon to STO and the series, In 2376, Julian Bashir identified the Vaadwaur, using the Pathfinder Project database, as a threat to the Federation in the near future (DS9 book 'Abyss').

The Voth - a little more difficult to implement, since they made it clear that they wanted nothing to do with Starfleet due to their doctrine, although a storyline where an opposing party/faction within their society appear, hoping to investigate what Gegan discovered in 'Distant Origin', would probably be a reasonable explanation.

Hirogen - already in the game though plenty of scope for expansion.

The Krenim - a little more difficult, as their primary threat came from one ship with a temporal weapon, although 'Year of Hell' was left open-ended on that matter.

And so far as the vote goes; those voting for DS9 based on the fact that they want a Cardassian faction should NOT vote for it on that basis alone. The poll IS NOT asking whether we want another faction - that's another question altogether. And frankly, there is already plenty of DS9 influence in STO.

And so far as Enterprise goes, not sure where they could go with that - the only rerally significant events were the Xinidi arc and the Temporal Cold War. And in the case of the latter, less and less was learned about it as the series progressed.

I think people ought to vote ANYTHING.... but DS9.:):D

I just personally want to the the Temporal cold war, Xindi ETC
Hopefully I'll come back from my break; this break is fun; I play intellectual games.

What would the addition of PvP and better foundry to the game?

Would be difficult in the following: cost a lot to code , feed the DEVs for lunch and make a profit on it.

That said, any addition to content would have the same implications.

I, myself, would prefer content to play, and I would not , in the slightest, mind FLEET V FLEET PVP.

So yeah, what would better PvP / foundry bring to the game?

balanced stuff that is...balanced? indeed pve is about everything, but not about balance. the actual direction leads to more op stuff and more op stuff, which will make npc's in the long run look like a pet-zoo (if ya ask me they already are)...

u can pve without any clue on the mechanics in this game and be a real hero. u cannot pvp without a clue on how mechanics work.
and when u got the knowledge about mechanics u'll come to realize how many things in this game just will TRIBBLE it up in the long run.

also: not everyone likes pve (read my sig). i'm totally sure it would appeal much new players to hop into sto (no speech of the old that left because pvp is getting more and more left behind).
also u can be sure: serious pvp'ers spend much more on this game than any decent pve'er...

so: pvp improvement would help to improve balance in whole, cost much less in maintenancing. pvp'ers create their own content by fighting each other. u only have to set the environment. pve content is probably much more expensive to create... last but not least: i see why they're frightned of fixing it due to the ammount of things to fix that are pvp-related. but on the other hand it would make many things much easier later on...

p.s.: with that opinion you're levelling your own desire over that of many pvp'ers/pvp fleets. u don't want to pvp? don't do it. i don't want to pve at all, but i'm forced to. u think it would be nice if ya would be forced to pvp?!...

I personally would love to see a Cardassian faction in time, since I think they're a great species, and I know how popular they are. I imagine there's a lot to say on the rebuild of Cardassia, and on the True Way; the Lost Era: Terrok Nor books show a good deal of Cardassian history that could pave the way for story-line.

I'm also hoping to see some updates to playable species; how can it be that you cannot play as Zaldans, Xenexians, Zakdorn, Kobliads, Betazoids, Takarans, Selkies ect? Being a huge fan of the Titan book series, and likely not the only one, I'd also like to see some of their species appear - if there are species from TAS, why not TTN or New Frontier?

Yeah but the fact you are missing, is that most people that play this game DON'T CARE ABOUT PVP.

I don't care how much you bang on about PVE being doable by clueless zombie captains, i enjoy it, as do many others. You don't need to understand why just because you don't, exactly the same as i don't need to understand why you enjoy PVP matches when i don't, and find most PVP players to be arrogant to the point of annoyance.

The only reason PVE is so easy, is because people have been farming the same ******n endgame PVE for 3 years. 3 YEARS!!!! Any content other than PVP, on any MMO, would be ridiculously easy if the community had been playing it for 3 years. If you can't see that then you are just too biased.

I personally am very excited about some new ENDGAME PVE, and if you aren't then i am sorry, you really need to find a different game to play. This is a PVE focused game, and people whining about no PVP or foundry comments in the announcement need to have a word with themselves. Those are sidelines for minority groups. The majority will be very happy with this update, as they should be. Trying to balance that for PVP, is making the many suffer for the needs of a few. They have enough trouble bringing out the PVE updates as it is, hopefully this marks the change of that. There is so much PVE potential in this game, and i will be damned if they lessen that for PVP.

Anyway, going slightly off topic, was just sick of seeing comments by all the usual people saying pvpvpvpvpvpvpvpvp.

Thanks for the state of the game update, it was very good to read and sounds promising. More of those please!

I voted for Voyager, simply because its the right time zone for the current game. Otherwise i would have voted Enterprise. I am currently on the last season of enterprise from my box set, and i really enjoy it. I think it is far, far too underrated.

Please do not vote DS9. I like Cardassians too but there is limited scope for anything original with them.

I think it is a big mistake for STO to go in the direction of fighting the Iconians. They are an extinct species and do not exist any longer. Anyone who says they have found evidence of their continued existance is clearly an undine posing as an officer trying to undermine Federation, KDF, and Republic efforts.

It would be better for Cryptic to continue focusing on the KDF and Federation war in order for both factions to be weaker militarily, that way it would be easier for an invasion on a massive scale to divide and conquer. Not that it would be from the Iconians, because as previous said they are extinct and nothing more than myth and rumor.

u dont' got the point i think: fixed pvp would lead to even higher player numbers, more income etc, due to ur not leaving behind half of potential players.... you don't bother about pvp? then i really don't understand why u r against it at all. just don't do it. it does not impact ur pve op'ness. u have no really clue about pvp? then plz stop talking about something u don't seem to understand. ahhh.... think i got ur point: ur not am willing to be foced to pvp. so it's here with pve. now tell me who's on the shorter edge on that? have a nice day ;)

Since even if DS9 won, we most likely wouldn't get the ships from "A Time To Stand" and the other Dominion War episodes (We all know the ship I'm really talking about, too...) therefore... I vote Enterprise. From a logical standpoint, it's the only Alpha/Beta Quadrent series that hasn't really been touched on until recently (besides the NX and D'Kyr, the 'Enterprise Era', Mirror Enterprise and T'Pol costumes)

    Now we've got the Andorian ships, the Suliban Cell Ship, both the Suliban and the Elachi (ENT: "Silent Enemy", according to the developers) play parts in the Romulan storyline. The timing is great to draw more from Enterprise;

We can learn more about the group that B'Vat's a part of that know of the future thanks to the Temporal Cold War...

The Xindi can make a major in-game appearance instead of just Diplomacy DOff assignments.

For all those Federation players with Andorian characters and the Andorian ships, the set can be completed by making an Andorian Imperial Guard uniform available.

2409 is only two-hundred years from the final battle against the Sphere Builders, they've got to be up to something!

There's so much material that can be drawn on from Enterprise and (while I concede that many ships, races, etc. from Voyager would be nice - a 'Dauntless' class Escort would be interesting, especially since one was seen in the background of the aforemention battle against the Sphere Builders, so appearantly despite the original being build as a trap, Starfleet eventually adopted the design) there wouldn't be the problem of having to add a new quadrant to the map or come up with reasons for Delta or Gamma Quadrant races, et. al. to be in the Alpha and Beta Quads...
"If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you ought to go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross; but it's not for the timid." -- Q, TNG: "Q-Who?"
^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...
