Can I ask you a question, you DO know what Anti-matter is and what a singularity is right?
My apologies, as I am not a physicist, theoretical or otherwise. I do know what antimatter is, though. What I do not know is the "science" behind how a quantum singularity core is supposed to provide power in ST canon, or how antimatter would effect such a core.

I think most of us aren't physicists...and I'll bet a physicist would cringe at my explanation.;)
Anyway a warpcore like the Federation and Klingons use then is basically a particle collider.
From one end it hurls matter to the reaction chamber of the warpcore, from the other an equal amount of antimatter.
When matter and antimatter collide, they annihilte each other and produce lots of energy.
This annihilation process is actually a bit like an explosion...which is pretty dangerous.
So the annihilation process occurs inside the dilithium crystals, which don't react with matter or antimatter. In fact these crystals are pourous and let both pass through them at the scale we're talking about here.
The crystals work like a focussing lens for the energy, which is why the crystals must be alligned. The energy is modulated into a form the ship can use as an energy source and it's directed towards the power lines so it can feed the warp engines, weapons etc.
Due to the stress on the dilithium crystals (lots of tiny explosions inside them) they wear down after a while and need to be either replaced or regenerated.
A black hole is a different beast altogether. It sucks in all matter that surrouds it and emits radiation. Depending whether it rotates or not the type of radiation is different.
Gamma Rays for rotating black holes and Hawking Radiation for non-rotating ones.
The idea is to collect this energy and use it to power the ship.
When black holes have nothing to feed on (no matter) they shrink since they lose energy due to the released radation. So the trick is to give it enough matter to keep you black hole at a constant size and energy output. The funny thing is that smaller black holes emit more radiation than bigger ones. That makes the whole business it a bit tricky. The black hole needs enough matter to not collapse (or rather explode) but it needs to be small enough to provide enough juice for your ship.
Not entirely sure how to combine these two sytems myself.

I'm not sure what would happen if matter/antimatter was dropped into a singularity -- would it collapse it or would it simply consume it and belch out an extra-juicy geyser of radiation?
If it wouldn't work, it could easily just be an "auxillary warp core retrofit" instead of a hybrid.

Ok, assuming I've engagesd the brain muscle in the right gear, the trick would be in the way the singularity was formed? So that it could feed off of antimatter vs collapsing? A method to create a "negative reality" black hole?

well, you know now that depends.. if its an anti matter universe everything works pretty much the same as it does here (physics is physics) but if its a negative universe toss all assumptions out the window.. Black holes would be white holes, the universe is not expanding if its the same age as our own but in a state of contraction...it get wierd nuff to make my head hurt... a lot!

I think you forgot that you'd have to stabilise it on occasion by directing an inverse hyperphasic subspace wingnut energy pulse created by a specially modulated multispectral bananasplit deflector array at the center of the singularity.:P

I thought about your question and I think there are several possibilities...at least from my non-physicist standpoint.
A black hole is super-compressed matter.
It's called a quantum singularity because the matter is compressed so much that it all occupies the same space at the same time...which is impossible under normal conditions as far as I know.
So what happens when you throw antimatter at it?
1.)
The black hole shrinks from the matter-antimatter collision and briefly emits more radiation.
However at this point it's like a balloon you punched a hole into: it emits more radiation and shrinks with increasing speed emitting more radiation.
You'll need to stabilise it, probably by feeding it additional mattter, so it won't blow.
And you might need to boost power to containment as well to keep it safe.
So you might have a brief surge of more power...and less power after that until you're back at a safe level.
2.)
The result will be an explosion like the one we have in a warpcore but without the control from the dilitium.
So the black hole might throw out some high-energy photons...but this is the problem: the black hole is surrounded by a collector for gamma or Hawking rays...which might be unsuited to collect the high-energy photons from the explosion. And might take damage.
3.)
Indigestion and diarrhea. The black hole reacts by emitting a different kind of radiation (antimatter radiation?) that might damage your collector.
4.)
An explosion after which you might have two or more smaller singularities that all emit lots of radiation before either exploding or fusing together into a new black hole.
However the new one is of course smaller than the one you started out with.
Please note that from what I've been reading a collapsing black hole doesn't just collapse onto itself like a balloon without air.
The safety info I've read indicates it's best to drop a collapsing black hole at least one AU (the distance between earth and the sun) away from anything you don't wat to get broken...like ships and planets.
I think the basic problem when anyone tried to fit a singularity engine into a Fed or KDF ship or a warpcore into a Romulan ship is the type of power the ship uses.
Warp plasma is probably very different from the electrical (?) energy you get out of a singularity core.
This most likely goes way beyond the 110 vs 220 volts issues we face depending on the country we're in.
At worst switching the energy core will force you to plug a power converter in front of every power socket...and then how do you supply to proper raw energy to the warp engines?
Anyway from a game's perspective I think what you ask for we won't get because the Romulans pay for their singularity powers with a reduced base-power and it's a way to keep them somewhat unique despite the fact we have two cloker-factions now.
What I do think might be interesting are "warpcore overdrives".
Those were mentioned on DS9 in the 4th season ("Return to Grace") as a piece of technology the Klingons and the Feds shared before their alliance collapsed.
Assuming the name is an indication it's some kind of brief "overheat" for a ship's warpcore.
This could be interesting in the future depending on how it were implemented.
Imagine if cruisers got longer boosts with lower power output from it while escorts got very brief boosts but were otherwise stuck without it...
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
