Update! The queue is clear for now Thanks for your patience as we worked to get all players in.
Nope... it's wonky again.

It was clear. For a few secs. I got in, made a Romulan. Played for a few minutes. Went to change characters. Crashed. Got back to log in. Then queued up and the queue was frozen again.
/sigh
Least I made a Romulan. For whatever that's worth.
Just logged in on what is usually the quietest time of the day for STO and I was in place number 1077 of the queue... and as a lifer I have a higher priority. Their servers must be seriously hammered to be so overworked at such a quiet time, or is there really that many people trying to squeeze in?
im getting a UNABLE TO BOOT PLAYER message. when it fails to retreve toon list
Mines been having a terrible time finding my toon list since the Emergency Maintenance...
Sometimes it takes a few minutes to load it up.
Must be another symptom of the under-lying problem.

Since the E.M.P. earlier, the longest I've managed to stay in the game is about 12 minutes.
Most times it dumps me after about 5 minutes.

I know you IT guys are unappreciated and the unsung heroes of today's world. Yet I am just saying, don't post you have resolved a problem when in fact you have not. I just had to log on and then off to get my characters to load... then I was able to log on and stuck in a queue... so I waited a good 15-20 mins. Same thing... number **** out of **** to log on. which is fine. I get it. I understand the modern complexities of updating and adding new content. I am just asking do not post that you have fixed a problem when you really haven't. Why don't wait to post when you really have fixed the problem? That's my only gripe.
The shortest queue I've been in tonight... 1 out of 2818...

They were trying to fix the lag on the server. Clearly, the lag must be fixed. No one is getting into the server now.
Neverwinter had a similar bug occur for it as well. No one seems concerned at Cryptic to actually attempt quality checks on patches and fixes.
But, after the servers went down for several hours. They came back up and no one could get in to play. Finally, after many hours. No one can still get in.
This is just my own opinion but it seems that Cryptic put in the patch, restarted the server and called it a night with out checking to see if the game was working as intended.
2095 out of a varying amount much higher... for the past 20 minutes with no change in my queue position. S'pose it'll log me in in another 5 or 6 hours then.
Update! We are aware that some players are seeing an error upon reading the announcement that we fixed the problem when they go back to the game and see that we didn't, resulting in a backfeed of the flux capacitor universal joint cylinder horsey
I just wonder if I am ever gonna play this game this week...
If it is gonna be like this with Queueissues due to a expansion and people not getting in to play then STO will lose a lot of playing members. Sad but true.
think this is the end for me, i'm already been waiting 15 min to switch from from KDF toon to FED toon, and it not like the log on quene is helping with the lag, which is still bad
3847 out of 3997 or something like that.. Not exactly the kind of thing I want to deal with as a first time player. Looks like I wont be able to play again til thursday XD

if you ever get in (doubt it) dont change your character.
If you want to play reman and make a romulan first to unlock the reman dont do it...you wont play at all.

It cleared for a while, I played. I stopped. I started and the mysterious expanding queue was back....but it is moving very slowly too.
I wouldn't quite go for "Mission Accomplished" just yet fellas.
