I have tried to ignore the constant down times, but I just watched a team of guys at my work do ten times the coding that this would require and produce a flawless role out with a single beta tester and no development server. Cryptic, you guys really have no idea what you are doing.
I don't need to go into their 'server room'. It's a business decision, PWI is a profit-hungry company. It's always been about turning a dime with them. They aren't the company to spend 'extra on the customer'.
If you think any gaming company - ESPECIALLY PWI/Cryptic is running state of the art hardware where 'money is no option' you're just being silly.

Thanks guys I am glad my INI files are still here and the server didn't melt and that the response was more than "please try again later" LOL I am glad you helped to fix the issue and i hope that if it was a critical issue, it was fixed. Now, if only we could get a universal voice chat server to accept all chat server proxies to join and utilize all chat for all of us to talk to each other....... *imagining a burble fish for the computer* hmmmmm ........ *shaking head* nahh..... I am sure you can come up with something amazing. <wicked grin> :P

I too love posts like the one you quoted, I must be the only person who hasn't been to Cryptic/PW studios, everyone seems to be such an expert on what happens in there.
There's been several times where I've said, even though all answers may point to it being their fault there maybe something beyond their control for EXAMPLE (I use example in big capital letters now as people for some reason assume that it's what I think is happening) a power cut, or their ISP acting up, unless you work for Cyrptic/PW or they actually say what's wrong you'll never know, so....
It's called power of deduction and reasoning. Honestly, you don't even need to be a member of the IT community to know what's happening so long as you've been in the MMO gaming-sphere for a while.
So much whining and nerdrage on the forums today... apparently, most of these kids don't remember the mess that was EverQuest: Ruins of Kunark. 23 hour downtime (oh, how will you kids survive!), then three more downtimes in the next two days totaling another 20 hours. This is nothing compared to that.
That being said, looking very good, guys, keep up the good work. Looks sharp!

The login failure is definitely not resolved for me...
LOL so I saw Star Trek: Into Darkness in theatres, came home looked more into the shows, lore etc. Interest peaked. Downloaded this game from steam f2p section. Login. Create character (which is very extensive btw) Clicked the "create character" button. 2 seconds later ... SURPRISE MAINTENANCE!! Oh happy day! Anyway I thought I'd share this bit of bad timing, look forward to starting to play this game after all this happens. Cheers.
