I stubbornly refuse to have anything to do with Neverwinter.

Go watch TNG S3 on Blu Ray and occasionally come back to check on the server status and mutter curses about them not being back up yet.

nope, it's free - you can pay for new episodes, if you want, but so far that's just been a few new repeatable missions with a good reward (fun missions, though) - the bulk of each expansion is free.

also if you subscribe you get ~$10 worth of points per month, which is enough to buy the expansion anyway.

Their website says you buy the game and it's F2P form then on: http://www.thesecretworld.com/gameplay

    From the site:

As of right now subscription is optional for The Secret World.

This means that after buying the game you can play all of the heralded story-line and all content available right now without a paying a monthly fee.

    The game is 30 dollars.

11am-1pm pdt IS a time for the other side of the world (18:00 GMT) - it covers a big chunk of the euro playerbase.

Pasted from the Neverwinter forum---seems they have a Dev Tracker category on that one. Original post was from 12:58 today, but I can't make sense of the time zones used since the forums are different from the servers that are different from...um, where I am, so I get jet lag just fishing for info.

No, the new parts will be delivered tuesday.
Beta, LTA, CE, Multiple preorder Versions, all Addon Packs except AoY, nearly all KDF/Rom and ~50% of all Fedships, over 25 LockboxShips, Endurer of Atari's "Year of Hell", but...
    unfortunately:

    NOT LOYAL ENOUGH!!!

This is all because of NeverWinter, you are trying to run two games on one server. . .
    (NW is down too)...

<...I HOPE SOMEONE WILL GET FIRED BECAUSE OF THIS...>

Last post on Twitter was 7 hours ago from Bran. Launcher still has a red dot and a "STO is currently down" thing.

Maybe i should just buy them a server........... now im really going to bed

There's an idea! Instead of the Legacy Pack pre-orders maybe Cryptic and PWE should create a "Buy Us New Servers" (BUNS) Token for STO. Any revenue that is generated by these special tokens can only be applied to server hardware/infrastructure support to keep STO running.

Every player who purchases $50 in BUNS tokens gets some special in-game reward ... and if you purchase $1000 worth of BUNS tokens you get access to all of the special ships for all factions from the lock boxes.

Now that I've reached my quota for crazy ideas for the day I think this means I need to go to sleep and rest what little is left of my brain.
In the immortal words of Captain Sisko: "It may not be what you believe, but that doesn't make it wrong."

Don't believe the lies in this forum. I am NOT an ARC user. I play STO on Steam or not at all.

oops! sorry, you're right - the base game costs $30.

if you subscribe this weekend, though, it looks like you get $15 worth of points (on top of the $10 you already start with, I assume), which is a pretty good deal if you ask me.
