You will get BO after the starting Story BO, and you can change their outfits.

I figured as much myself, but I think a nice solution would be if they froze their actual physical features (dimensions, hair colors, tattoos, et cetra) but allowed us to still change their uniforms and such.

Out of the 1st four BOffs you get, the last 3 only can have their name edited at this time, i.e Tovan Khev can have have neither name nor uniform changed.

You actually use the flashlights? They never helped me to see things. Just put a spot of white on the screen and made it harder for me.
Actually yes :D But it's not the overall illumination I'm using it for; it's to make sure I know exactly where the corners are, saving me some travel time.

    Kinda a quirk, but hey

Some of the starting BOs are story BOs and are part of your ongoing story, they are... well unique characters, ad least that how seems when you do the stories.

it would be nice to atleast make my romulan bo's look like they joined the same team other then a small group of mercs as far as the fed or klingon bo's if you visit the bridge you cant find them makes no sence . if the fed or klingon factions can change the uniform of the bo's with no restrictions the roms should be able to do the same... otherwise you start opening pandora's box..........

You can go past level 21 , you just can't do anymore of the Story quests.

I have a level 30 rommy but still fly the level 20 mogai

the reason is because though you can go past 21 your promotion mission for level 20 wont resolv e thus you wont get the level 30 promotion mission which means no free level 30 D'Deridex.

I was really hoping to fly one oh well guess i will wait :(

    Bug come outs:

1.Kilnogin mission "Tutorial The Hunt is On - Defeat Federation Spies" BOFF and NPC are stuck in the walls , cant be fished. It can be helpful for developers.

I AM PISSED OFF AFTER 3 YRS. I STILL CAN'T USE OR CHANGE OR DELETE OUTFIT IN 3 OF 5 OUTFIT SLOTS ON MY KLINGON TOON !

    Couple of things.
All of these are using a Romulan aligned with the KDF

    1) The Manhunt mission will not resolve. Additionally the mission summary doesn't update when you're done at Rura Penthe.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed these but I'd have to assume they were unintended.

    2) The Romulan transporter effect has been replaced with the KDF effect once I've chosen my alligence. Considering I'm in a Romulan ship, this shouldn't happen. [Although it seems certain limited circumstances do show the correct Romulan effect.]
This is especially annoying as I have seen people on the same mission as me who still have the correct Romulan effect when they transport

    3) Romulan bridge backgrounds are not present during missions for the KDF when talking to a BOFF.

We really should be able to use the uniforms from the faction we pick.Even in movies that was there plus its a waste of models to restrict them.Same for combadges on off duty uniforms.More combinations should be allowed.

Yeah the BOff thing has gotten pretty annoying. Also can't resolve my Subcommander Promotion and thus can't move up to Commander. There are a few uniform bugs I've seen. Like the Talshir chest has no texture in the costume editor. There also aren't enough options IMO.

Actually that is my biggest take away from what I've seen so far. Options are limited in weird ways. Like what exactly are F2P level 50s supposed to fly if they aren't in a advanced Fleet? I assume there are more vessels in the pipeline to address that because expecting some to just stick in a Cruiser till they have 200,000 Fleet Credits or 2500Zen in Dilithium doesn't seem fair (Note: I am buying the Mogais so this doesn't really bother me at the end of the day but I don't like this. The choice there should be a Rear Admiral version of everything with either a material or slight model change to give enough differentiation). Otherwise in all honesty I think you are going to have to give Romulans access to their Ally's lvl 40 stuff.

Can't have these people basically playing an Escort/Raptor/Raider type ship and then dump them into a boat like the D'deridex is setup as and not expect a massive amount of whining.

That's intentional - they don't want us using the bigger ships yet, as they are not done tweaking them yet. The LTS people have managed to get some of them by getting to 40 and using their free ship bonus, but any impressions they are getting from them is premature as the stats are not final. Patience, grasshopper.

For right now, that's actually intentional. Explained here: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=9366341#post9366341

I don't know that may cause a revolt like people were about Romulans getting access to the Tier 5 and above Fed and Klingon ships before they rescinded that.

If it's like the officer exchange program with Kurn, then it makes sense for them to only wear a Romulan uniform.

If they were granted a commission in Starfleet like Kira, then they should get Starfleet or Klingon uniforms to wear.

From the way they've described it, it seems to be closer to the former.

That said I think that there are going to be more clothing options coming down the line both for Romulans and Klingons. If not in the near future the Devs have acknowledged that it's a problem.

I would love to see Romulan and Klingon equivalents to the Jupiter uniforms.

Though it does raise some interesting questions. Starfleet and KDF officers through the embassy can acquire Romulan clothes, so it is logical that the inverse, Romulans gaining access to Klingon and Federation clothes too.

But I agree combadges and the like should all be available on the off duty uniforms. We've seen it many times that the officers will be in civilian clothes and will also have their communicators on. More combinations should definitely be allowed.

I meant as if your romulan commands a fed/kdf ship (t3 or 4) he/she should be able to have a fed/kdf uniform ,you cant give orders to your fed/kdf crew dressed in green :D

ok lets say for some weird reason romulans (all species in the new faction ) cant have fed/kdf uniforms ,but at least combadges which in star trek are comunicators....its like banning mobile phones

and last reason is ...someone worked to create all those uniforms and people paid for them. Its a shame to restrict them all .Or they could give them as unlocks for missions like we get after tutorial , so for example after some fed/kdf missions we unlock the ability to wear a fed/kdf uniform so we can pick 1 fed uniform or something like that.

You can change the uniforms of generic romulan boffs you get. The first four boffs you get are special boffs that are part of the storyline. After that, when you get romulan boffs for ranking up, those you can change the uniforms. I had about three or four romulan boffs that I was able to tailor their uniforms. The first four remained static.

    Well Kira did.

Still, I get what you're saying. And the communicators shouldn't be restricted.

Although I'm wondering. I wasn't invited to the beta, does the Romulan's beam out animation touch the chest or tag the arm?

That's kind of a limitation like in the TOS uniforms, if you're wearing that with the department patch instead of a combadge then you should in fact pull out ye olde flip communicator. Same with the Enterprise gear.

So the combadge would also have to adjust to the faction beam out animation.

I admit a Romulan chick would look good in my Jupiter uniforms.

My fed romulan just beams up with no hand or chest animation. The difference is the sound and colour or the sparkly thingies when you beam up.Will have to get to level 10 a new romulan to check the kdf side ,but Im pretty sure at this point theres no hand/chest animation on both sides.

that reminds me...orions were in federation in all movies.I demand skimpy outfits for feds....even those outfits are for the summer even as reward or really expensive costumes. :P
