Cryptic previous alluded to a character creation overhall coming with the May update, something that is conspicuously absent from the features list of Legacy of Romulus. Have they dropped this as one of their goals?

I really hope you can be Remans as well, and possibly Hirogen. The Path to 2409 does have the Hirogen and Sela as allies, and there were rumors of Hirogen being playable in a Romulan faction long ago.
Unfortunately, based on the starting selection screenshot, it looks like there's only Romulans, which is disappointing. At the very least, Remans should be playable.
I saw this question asked earlier, but didn't see an answer. Is this "expansion" something we will just get, or something that has to be purchased? Any related details?

i always felt that hirogen should not be part of the RSE. Romulans are not a federation like club, neither are the kdf, but that ship has sailed a long time ago. So thanks for not repeating past mistakes cryptic.

One question... How do we get our hands on the Free Torpedo Launcher that is advertised when you click the "Prepare Yourself Now" link? Is there an NPC we need to go to somewhere ingame or is it claimable from the C-Store?

It does say Romulans and Remans on the page, so my guess is Remans weren't available when they took that screenshot. I hope Hirogen are in too, more for Boffs for me though as I'll be going Romulan.

Honestly, even in the KDF and Romulans will have some fed copied missions to do..... it is honestly better then nothing.
I can't understand how the KDF playerbase seems divided on this. Why are they not happy to get new content?
Just because the other factions get it too, that does not mean anything is taken from them.
I for one like things so far.
There seem to be artwork and ships about an evil looking robotish faction with tentacles.
Looks like borg-necron-tentacles and very very sith like evil. A properly evil and scary looking foe.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

I'm rather inclined to keep my distance from the Romulan faction for now.
The new faction-specific UI seems to look really good and the choosable HUD color palate feature sounds interesting aswell. I look forward to fooling around with it and slapping TNG LCARS colours on it.
That we can start Klingon characters from level 1 now is also a big plus, well atleast for me as I now actually have a motivation to start a Klingon character, as I never really felt much inclined to "begin" a new game just to start in the middle of the midgame content as it was the case for the Klingons up to now.
Although wether or not I will make us of this is just as much dependent on the quality and playability of the released content as it is for the Romulan faction.
It's really interesting, I'd say we get the new Faction now to keep us busy while the devs work on the level 60 cap raise to four-star admiral/general which we will most-likely get during the next big update during autumn.
But now tell us Branflakes, how does it come that the "almost completely remade Character Creator" is nowhere mentioned. Or are the "New and Improved Traits" the only changes made?
Possible new options to finetune our character's appearance like new hair-styles or headpieces (20th century style navy combination covers ftw ) are some of the reasons I decided to wait for this update before starting another character.
C'mon Cryptic, the Typhoon Battleship is the most aggressive and badass looking ship in the entire Starfleet. How could it not be playable!?
And don't forget about the Jupiter and the Balaur and every other awesome NPC ship that absolutely deserves to be playable!

2. 1000 Day Veteran for the Romulan Faction
3. Liberated Romulan Borg?
4. This new reputation system, i it only for Romulan Faction or will it be 100% cross faction.
5. Wil Romulans be playable by other factions (as klingons are for Federation for example).
6. Will we get free extra character slots for Romulan Characters. (IMHO we should get three)
Thanks for the extra month or two, it gives me time to hopefully finish my existing toons first.

Since at the beginnig of STO there where already talks about the romulan faction.
And now that it will arrive, everyone is surprised ???.
I like the idea off commanding my own scimitar. But i also hope that the romulan faction
will be more then the KDF one wich is practically an shadow of the FED one.
