I COULDNT Get it to work, my only option was to return to my vesta surveillance exporer ship... at least I was able to put my boffs that i wanted into that ship... not the hsip that i wanted to use with the new build i am running but if i want to play the game at all this is what I have to use.

Well, that's it for me. The f-in dope squad at Craptic finally broke the game. The client is coming off my drive as soon as I sign off. Good luck in the unemployment line, when you get there, Danny Boy. F-you, and and all your shovelware, data-mining, crew too, especially the Raisin Bran kid. As for everybody else still supporting this junk, hey, at least you can look at the new screensaver, that Craptic, no doubt, used all their talent to create, while you're NOT playing their game. See ya'll in the funny papers.
Looks like I got smacked with this as well. Just came back to the game today after an extended leave and found that I can't slot any of my officers after the anniversary mission.
Oh Cryptic, how I have missed you!
I'll be sticking around though, you can't get rid of me again that easily!
Got a workaround off this forum, apologies I can't remember who originally posted it.
Go to sector space, change your instance, go to your bridge and then you can assign to stations. Important part is once you've selected your first station DO NOT choose 'none'.
It worked for me.
The changing instance doesn't work. From what I can gather, as long as your have a Boff that is not being used you can place him/her in the respective stations. This is very aggravating when your trying to level your character and can't place any Boffs into any stations.

this worked for me, altho i finaly got my boffs working, and went to do a ground stf, and i swear....like some cruel joke, i rezed inside a freaking wall...tried to use the /stuck thing...it tells me "[System] [StuckWarning] Stuck cannot be used. Try using Transwarp if in space or Beam Up if on the ground. Request help from a GM as a last resort.
" so i leave it..since it sys beam up right?....oh wondeful...now because of the glitches and bugs the devs seem to have made...i get punished...thanks alot for that...i quit for tonight, and no i am not gonna spend 300 bucks on lts, its been a month and this game has gone from kinda fun...to agrivatingly TRIBBLE.
For what it's worth, I went to another sector and visited my Bridge. THEN I was allowed to assign Bridge Officers.
:cool:So far, this is consistent with me too! From ESD went to Alpha Centauri, went to bridge and could change officers. This must be what PW & Cryptic think is a bug... wearing a top hat. After all, we probably will eventually have to go to the bridge to assign officers. Findally, they can say, the bridge has some functionality. :-/

This does not work for me After completion of the mission The Doomsday machine i can not set my bridge
officers. I tried a variety of ways, if I try to put officers on the position the
slot stays on NONE.
My advice is just to keep moving ahead with your gimped ship. None of the suggestions I could try worked out but I kept checking everytime I entered a new area or mission and eventually I was able to get it done.
This just happened to me after I reached Captain. Changing to a new map did not work. Slotting from the bridge did not help.
Last resort was to replace all BOFFs with a new new crew. Glad I'm not paying for this game. I'd be really PO'd.
I was able to get my BOffs assigned and working after hopping into a Delta Volanis "Explore Unknown System" mission. It seems once you have a "None" selected you can't change it any public area (minus the fleet starbases for those that join fleets)
Considering the number of missions where you get enemies dropped right on you as soon as you start it's not the ideal way, preferably this issue will be resolved before the real 25th Century arrives.
I am having the same problem got new ship and cannot load any officer into a stsion but I can change them on other ships.just added ship from 700 vet to a new toon.
fOR ALL THOSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM CHANGE MAP INSTANCE ONE TO TWO TIMES THIS CORRECTS PROBLEM. TRYIT
Not always. Typing in caps makes you look like a jerk, being wrong in caps makes you a dumb jerk. The fix that worked for me was going to the bridge. It's worth noting I also changed sectors first, so I'm unsure if this contributed to the temp fix.
It's really too bad that this bug hasn't been resolved during the weekend, but I'm not surprised.
Can't slot any bridge officers. Neither can my wife. We can't play. Since we came back just for the third anniversary event to see the improvements, I guess you could say that this leaves a rather unappealing impression on how things have changed.
We've tried switching instances, logging out, going to Memory Alpha, visiting the ship's bridge, buying a shuttle, getting new bridge officers (which worked for that one bridge officer, but I can't replace my favorites with an all new set just for this bug) ... we've tried every dance that's suggested in these 36 pages (except warping to the fleet starbase since we aren't in a fleet), and none of them have worked.
Basic game functions have been impaired by recent changes, but I suspect most developer interest is focused on generating new sources of revenue.
It sure would be nice if this would get fixed. Both of my Fed characters got the new Ambassador refit, but I can't do anything with them since the bridge is locked up. Have tried changing maps, changing ships, nothing works. I realize this is free-to-play, but right now it's "no play". Get with it devs.
I've tried all the "fixes" suggested in this thread and nothing works.
To say that the devs at Cryptic have proven just how amazingly incompetent they are is a massive understatement.
Update: I flew to the Risa system, beamed down and was finally able to assign boffs. Devs are still incompetent for adding this ridiculously bad coding in the first place.
Got promoted to Captain last night - new ship, couldn't slot. Tried a couple of things, then found the suggestion somewhere to slot your bridge officers into and then back out of a universal slot (like on a shuttle), and then I was able to assign them properly. I realize that won't help anyone who doesn't have a shuttle - but it DID work when several other suggestions (visit Bridge, leave sector, change them from inside the shuttle, etc) didn't.

Took me a damn hour and then I come here and you saved the day. thanks!

Thank you! That works well.

AMAZING! I had to 'dock' to make it work but work it did. I was unable to slot any of my science officers on one toon.
Thanks for the tip!

This is a gamebreaking bug, and needs to be fix NOW, not at first thing monday, but NOW.
Are we actually a part of some psychological study to see how much frustration the human condition can deal with before they /ragequit?
