Unlike the Gal-X, it has the Tac Stations for some powerful combinations. And damn does it look tough.
I'm not sold on it.
The Ody/Bortas can both run almost as many Tac BOFF stations but it just doesn't make all that much sense to do so on a ship with a base turn rate of 6 imo.
Here we go again....You know Cryptic I was 1 of the ppl that got excited when you all announced STO was going F2P... I was like hell yes finally more players which means faster ques and more stuff for me to kill... But here we are a year later and ques are still slow as hell and your once fun game to play has turned into whoever has enough money to keep up with all your C-store stuff and your lottery boxes are the ones that are benefitting expecially in PVP... Example ... A guy in my fleet spent 200 dollars in 1 day trying to get a bug ship which he finally got... But there is no ship in this game worth that kind of money to ppl like me that dont have money like that to throw around ... So in hindsite I wish the hell you would go back to making ppl pay the 15 monthly or buy a lifetime subsciption and make the ships in game stuff that we can all get our hands on them rather than catering to the people who obviously have tons of money to spend ... But I know you wont because your company is just like all other companies ... You dont care about fair play just how much money you can rake in .... And the obvious choice in the Commander Slot is Attack pattern omega 3. If your using Single Cannons, Rapid Fire 2. If your using Beams, Beam Overload, or Faw 3. If torps, Torp Spread or HY 3..

IMO with the current BOFF layout Drednought Carrier's surviavability is too low, perhaps you should consider layout such as:

LTC Eng,

Hrmmm, this was along the lines of the build that came to mind for me.
Depends on what the stats/set stats are on the Jem'Hadar set.
But it's looking at the Omega Weapon Amplifer proc, the Reactive Deflection, both Dom consoles and the bonus for having both, nifty crit, phaser procs, polaron procs, etc, etc, etc...
It (Jem Escort Carrier) turns as fast as a Vesta, and has 2 turn rate on the Vor'cha. It's probably fast enough turning for DHC's.
DDIMS, isn't it funny that this thing is almost stat-for-stat what we were chatting about what the Regent should have looked like as a Tac-heavy Fed cruiser?
if only the fed cruiser movement stats gravitated a bit more this direction. they really seem more and more ponderous compared to all the ships of similer size turning SO much better

this ship is basically a fatter, slower vet ship with a hanger as far as im concerned. 2 AtB would of course be the best chance this ship has of being competitive with its turn rate. this, with a LT sci, is exactly the station setup to use on such a thing. with its control potential it will be like flying a cross between a vorcha and a vet ship. do like, but i'll never be getting one im sure
i cant remember a time when i was this revealed when reading about new ship stats. pvp wont be harmed at all by this lockbox. well, maybe ground with some of the new doffs, but i think space will be ok.
we are definitely seeing a shift, they are releasing pve toys more then focused 11/10 ships like the bug and recluse now. first the vesta, wile also being the 'best' sci ship, would make any pve MUCH easier to shoot through vs other sci ships. then the breen ship, a cruiser with escort stations, its extra sturdy and turns well enough to handle any pve, but its to slow to be used exactly like an escort with any sucsess. these are jack of all trades have flaws that will keep them from reinventing pvp balance around them. so very revealed by what i see. great job devs!
the carrier i sorta feel sorry for, nothing with that turn rate needs a COM and LT tac. thats going to be the easiest thing to blow up in the game.

Yes this is exactly why people shouldnt be worried about the new lobi ship, it has an absolutley horrible boff layout for a ship that turns so slow. It is just a nice big dumb slow easy target that doesn't have the engineering and/or sci it takes to give a ship like that enough heals to survive.

They should just let you turn in a packed mirror ship with 4 modules as long as you have appropriate shipyard tier unlocked and it gets the bonus to hull and shields and 10th console slot like fleet ships.
The carrier would be bad in PvP b/c of movement, but not in PvE. Leave it the way it is, we don't need anymore ships dropping spam in PvP.

i also like the fighters. they arent a new fighter with some control ability, they are fighters that just deal damage, and with DEM they do it in a bit of a unique way

its great because they arent as good or better then the bug ship. releasing pve toys is better then releasing game breaking op ships. the heavy escort is completely viable if you fly it like a KDF cruiser, i could do terrible things in that ship. i agree on the carrier, its simply over the top bad. i commented on that here in the official thread though
Yes I have to say I am really pleased with the devs for giving both the lobi and lockbox ships bad boff layouts for pvp. I wouldn't have been interested in getting these ships regardless and its nice to see that the usual people will still drop loads of money on these boxes to help fund the game while not ruining pvp.
A few minor tweaks to the boff layout of the heavy escort and it would have been almost op in pvp, as it is now it would only be viable with aux2bat builds for pvp. If they made the lt uni as sci and the ensign sci as uni it would have been a great ship without having to use aux2bat build, but still probably not enough turn to use for pvp for most people.
I think the main problem we might have is not the ships themselves; but people getting the ships and putting their consoles on the bugships, depending on how powerful the consoles are.
Edit:Also, with the Jem set being upgraded, and with proper phased polaron coming out, we might see an increase in Victory is Life (if it works)

Indeed, I was imagining it'd be a Heavy Escort Carrier with a turn rate of 17 and two hangars w/ a built-in Sub-Nucleonic Beam console, TBH.
Using the Tholian Carrier as a precedent, it'd be a bit strange for them not to be able to use whatever faction's pets it gets opened up on.

As for the Dreadnought, if it can equip cannons, it will likely have the same issues as the Gal-X: not enough turn to use them.

the inertia score would be EXTREMELY important information on the escort with the tweener turn rate it has. im going to guess 35-50
