Yeah um, I did consider this stuff in an earlier post but didn't go into much detail. I'm leaning toward dusting off my B'rel Spooooooon and seeing how bad it can be Doffs/VM/SS/AMS/Trics/PSWTorp/PSW et al.

+300% threat for APD. In SB24? Look like that tac scort is going to edge you out of 1st place? Drop the new and improved Attack Pattern Respawn on him and watch him aggro everything.

I don't mind the Carriers.. yet.. (Though Assault carrier probably means SIMILAR to Kar'fi, but BETTER obviously.. since it's lockbox)

But this is what pisses me off the absolute MOST..

Normally I don't say things like this... But

/Rant on **** you Cryptic! Oh ****ing Gee.. you have to have the Jem'Hadar Attack ship, the best escort in the ****ing game to get Pets for a Carrier.. which will probably be Over ****ing powered ****. Not to mention now this will drive up the ****ing price of the existing bugs on the Exchange!

And to top it off all the ****ing consoles can be used on the god damn Bug?! Making it MORE powerful?! REALLY?!

Before I didn't care to get a Jem'hadar Bug, because honestly I don't think I could fly it properly. Geez../rant off

It doesn't even really make sense. Who's going to own a JHAS on the same toon they're using for a team carrier? I'd say Cryptic is catering to the overly-wealthy but it's not like there are that many JHASes on the market even if you were to want one on ill-fitting toons.

Making it an account-wide unlock wouldn't undercut profits the way it would with the Galor. People can't conceivably get a JHAS, and sure as hell not for a toon that makes zero sense for the ship.

his one, im a bit startled. this has mass team abuse potential. at least the effect only lasts 10 seconds and isn't permanent till its all the way cooled down. i guess it wont be that big a deal

So basically... science captains are going to be encouraged to use the absolute WORST conceived ability in PvP (scramble sensors) because now it helps you kill your targets faster by keeping them from healing themselves?

All we're going to get now is Scramble spam.

Of course.... this won't be an issue if you play a Jem'hadar ship team with enough Attack Pattern Gamma's to keep your perception buffed. Those teams will be just fine.

Everyone else though.... here comes the PvP premade scramble teams. For those of us who play this game entirely for the PvP, guess we should start looking for something else to do.

    I am almost speechless.
Phew! I am glad I am not a PvP player. I am glad I am a cold hearted singleplayer, that focus on one character only. Makes my life much simpler. :D

I am waiting for a namechange though. from Star Trek Online to something like Star Wars(!) Online. -if that IP wasn't taken already by that Lucas guy, that name would be more fitting. fair enough STO is set in the Star Trek universe, but it is really becoming a very paradoxial/parallel universe. Far from the original 'Star Trek'.
I am also waiting for a possibility to be discharged from starfleet, to be able to create some immersion as a frivolous mercenary without any bonds back to the Federation Fleet. At the same time, open up for the ability for my character to go visit Klink-planets etc, because there is nothing but bad coding that holds me back from being a rogue trader.

Well, looking at the Mirror Qin and Mirror Vor'cha - guessing the Mirror Vo'quv will trade the LCdr Tac for Lt Tac and possibly add an En Eng:

Lt Tac, LCdr Eng, En Eng, Lt Sci, Cmdr Sci

edit: Well, they just switched consoles and Lts...

    Mirror Universe Vo?Quv Carrier

The Mirror Vo'quv Carrier favors Engineering Officer Seating and Console Slots more than the non-Fleet Prime Universe version does.

Not bad actually, both are powerful but have fatal flaws. Despite some otherwise beastly stats the heavy escort carrier turns slow for use as an escort, and the dreadnought carrier doesn't have anything close to an ideal boff layout for use as a healer.

So looking at the stats of some of the ships:

    Heavy Escort Carrier

    Faction: Federation or Klingon
Rank Required: Rear Admiral or Brigadier General
    Availability: Dominion Lockbox
    Hull Strength: 37,500
    Shield Modifier: 1
    Crew: 350
    Weapons: 4 Fore, 3 Aft
    Device Slots: 3
    Hangar Bays: 1
    1 Jem'Hadar Fighter Hanger Pet
Bridge Officer Stations: 1 Commander Tactical, 1 Lieutenant Commander Engineering, 1 Lieutenant Engineering, 1 Ensign Science, 1 Lieutenant Universal
Console Modifications: 4 Tactical, 4 Engineering, 2 Science
Base Turn Rate: 12 degrees per second
    Impulse Modifier: 0.2
+10 Weapon Subsystems, +5 Shield Power, +5 Auxiliary Power
Console ? Universal ? Dominion Coordination Protocol

.....Why? it gets a lot of durability but can't turn worth **** for an Escort Carrier. At least it doesn't have enough turn rating for Heavy Cannons. The Fed's Escort Carrier is better than it.

    Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Cruiser.

    Faction: Federation or Klingon
Rank Required: Rear Admiral or Brigadier General
    Availability: Lobi Store
    Hull Strength: 45,000
    Shield Modifier: 1.15
    Crew: 3500
    Weapons: 4 Fore, 3 Aft
    Device Slots: 3
    Hangar Bays: 2
    2 Jem'Hadar Fighter Hanger Pets
Bridge Officer Stations: 1 Commander Tactical, 1 Lieutenant Tactical, 1 Lieutenant Commander Engineering, 1 Ensign Science, 1 Lieutenant Universal
Console Modifications: 4 Tactical, 4 Engineering, 2 Science
Base Turn Rate: 6 degrees per second
    Impulse Modifier: 0.17
+10 Weapon Subsystems, +10 Auxiliary Power
    Subsystem Targeting
Console ? Universal ? Dominion Command Interface

Well it's more tactically focused, they didn't lie about that. And although it can outdo other carriers turn wise, it will still turn like a bus with no tires. No doubt it will hurt though.

    Mirror Universe Vo'Quv Carrier

The Mirror Vo'quv Carrier favors Engineering Officer Seating and Console Slots more than the non-Fleet Prime Universe version does.

    Faction: Klingon
    Rank Required: Brigadier General
    Availability: Dominion Lockbox
    Hull Strength: 42,000
    Shield Modifier: 1
    Crew: 4000
    Weapons: 3 Fore, 3 Aft
    Device Slots: 4
Bridge Officer Stations: 1 Lieutenant Commander Tactical, 1 Lieutenant Commander Engineering, 1 Lieutenant Engineering, 1 Commander Science
Console Modifications: 2 Tactical, 4 Engineering, 3 Science
Base Turn Rate: 5 degrees per second
    Impulse Modifier: 0.15
    +10 Auxiliary Power

This is better than the regular Vo'Quv, I like this one. Doesn't trade the Lieutenant Commander Tactical Station for anything. Too bad it trades science for the engineering, but it can potentially rival the Recluse for healing.

I didn't include the Mirror Escorts because their basically the opposite Escort in a different skin.

Console & pet spam asside the carrier doesn't look that bad since it's got a crappy turnrate. Just keep out of its forward arc for PvP.

The Heavy Escort is basically a destroyer w/pets silmilar to the Vet ships, again console/spam aside. Those look to be made for Aux2batt builds.

It (Jem Escort Carrier) turns as fast as a Vesta, and has 2 turn rate on the Vor'cha. It's probably fast enough turning for DHC's.

DDIMS, isn't it funny that this thing is almost stat-for-stat what we were chatting about what the Regent should have looked like as a Tac-heavy Fed cruiser?

I actually did a double LMFAO in OPvP - it was spontaneous - LOL wouldn't have cut it.

I'll have to do an update of my joke Dread Battle Carrier build...

Compared to my guess, the ship is:

    +6500 hull
    -0.15 shield modifier
    +1500 crew
    -3 turn rate
    -1 sci console/+1 eng console
Cmdr Tac instead of LCdr Tac
LCdr Eng instead of Lt Eng
En Sci instead of Cmdr Sci
Lt Uni instead of En Uni

The Sci drop would be the biggest change (but I make almost every ship a Sci - did it with the Chel Grett, have done it with the Ambassador and Kamarag - and did it with the Dread Carrier)..hrmmm.

Plenty of BOff space for Warp Plasma and a Tractor Beam to make up for it. :)

    [Edit]

    And Siphon Drones/Danubes as well.

Though I wonder if the Elite versions of the fighters will pick up DEM 3 as the normal ones come with DEM 1?
