You and your team rawk! I don't overly care about the new ships, but the fact that we have the option to upgrade our current jem hadar space and ground sets to mark 12 makes me a happy camper. I currently use the space set on my fleet saber and have three BOff's with the ground set. I do have one question, for the mini-gun though...does it work as a set piece with the current Jem Hadar PSG and armor or is it a completely separate entity?
This is clearly the most feature packed lockbox yet, and the potential prizes are definitely first rate.
BUT, it's getting to be a bit much, as box after box rolls out, with the same super-low drop rate, and the same insanely expensive keys needed to open them. Keeping track of rare Doffs and consoles are one thing, but there are so many ships available to both factions now, it's literally impossible to keep them straight, or even figure out whether changing ships is worth it or not. And that's before the Mirror universe, temporal, and other lockbox ships appeared.
I get that it's all about revenue, but can we get a reorganization of the ship classes?

Yeah and like most games its so user unfriendly. It should be that boffs learn a skill and you don't have to relearn it unless you just go and buy a flew of 4-5 boffs per ship so it will remember it should be as easy as a click to go and change ships with the weapons saved and all that good jazz. Unfortunately the customer or player is not on top of the list but their money is the only thing a player is worth with this age of corporate run mmorpgs.

Under the present format, it's not worth it as often as they keep pumping out ships. You pay for the modules. You pay for the ships even if it's just for the special console. You pay for the keys, if not directly but someone does. Then you still must pay for the respec.
As I've stated before, the captain specs as they exist now should be tied to the ship being commanded not to the captain. Whether or not the captain has a personal disposition toward stealth is irrelevant. It is the ship that must be stealthy. The same can be said of hull plating, warp core potential, etc.

While I can understand this like of thinking, it'd require them to completely overhaul the skill tree.... AGAIN! It was bad enough the first time.
I have just one simple wish, I'd like to know the odds of winning a ship and how its calculated.
After spending the equivalent of a cstore ship + more on the last box and not winning sfa it would be nice to have some improvement on the odds.
Funny thing is I have been told the Aus gov is looking into online games as some may infringe there online gambling laws.

The Australian government is the biggest toothless tiger out there... Gillard & Co won't do anything about this stuff because they simply do not understand anything to do with the internet (just listen to Conroy... that man has no clue!). Unfortunately it could mean that they come up with some crazy law that has some adverse effect on the game... but to be realistic the chances of that happening are bugger all to none.
And anyway... the gambling argument has been done to death... its not gambling - you always get something for your money - there is NO real risk - there is just a risk that you will not get something that you want (and that doesn't classify as getting ripped off cos you still got something you were told you could get).
Can you make it, to where if you own a Jem'Hadar attack ship anywhere on your account, you can buy the pet? If I magically get this ship, I'm not replacing my attack ship with it, but would love to launch a wing of fighters with it.

how is the zen store life? It would be better if they just sold the ships directly instead of these perfect world lockboxes. i miss the old cryptic, run by... not pw.
That's also been answered to death too: Licensing requirements. CBS has already said that they do not want everyone and their grandmother flying non-faction ships.
Which, then, begs the logical next question: When will non-faction become a faction in its own right?

If the Australian government starts to take a serious look into Star Trek Online, the only thing that will happen is Australian users being clocked from playing the game. It's an American game based in California. Australia can make all the demands it wants as long as STO is in Australia, but all Cryptic needs to do is cut off Australian users and Australia has no jurisdiction to demand anything. It'll suck for any Australian STO user, but they'll only have their government to blame.
On the topic of the lockboxes themselves, my Jem'Hadar boff wants his kar'takin! Make it the same stats as another melee weapon of the same level, you already have the visuals for it, and you could probably get away with reusing the lirpa animations. Done; easy product that people want that will make them more likely to go after lockboxes.
The only thing that really interests me in this grouping is the Anteater...
And it is probably the one thing I WON'T get, with the few Dominion boxes I plan on opening.
Oh well..., I've still got plenty of Temporal boxes stored away to open for the time being.

"Breen re-invasion" of ESD space is my answer to your answer.
As my sig alludes, this "restriction" is gone as of the winter event - any then-active player who spent 5 min/day for 25/35 days has a "non-faction" ship on at least one toon. While I prioritized and only did this on 2 of my then 6 toons, I hear stories of people who did nothing but race all day for the near-month and stocked 10+ toons with Breen ships...
On a more related note, I know I'm eyeballing those phased polarons DCs for my 2 Breen ships, maybe even a set of decent (read: cheap) turrets to replace the handful of arrays I ground up on my engie's breen ship already...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

Wrong, the restriction is there and the winter event, like the lockboxes, was just a work-around. Same with the Jem'Hadar fighter in the previous winter wonderland. Besides, the Breen ship is outdone by most CBS-approved top-level ships, so people are just flying around for the novelty, because they feel like it, or because they haven't managed to grab something better.

It's supposed to be amusing, my post was a link to a clip from DS9, click it.

My understanding of CBS's restriction is that there should never be an instance in which "faction" ships will be a "minority"...
Granted, as there has been many lockboxes, all releasing "non-faction" ships, (we have JHAS, Galor, D'Kora, Orb Weaver (and Recluse, but she wasn't "grand prize")) then we can have situations where faction ships can be a "minority" - when you compare Feds to combined non-faction - but when you attempt to compare a given non-faction ship with the faction fed population on at that time, the feds will still outnumber each specific "non-faction ship"...
However, this is not the case with the Chel'Bret. Heck, I can see, even in June, that if we ran a "flash mob" challenge with sufficient incentive for all available players to show up around ESD within 10 minutes of the announcement in their Breen ship, we'll have 80+% of the ships around ESD being the Chel'Bret. This isn't "minority" level - it's gonna take a lot of time for enough new players to sign up so that we'll have <50% Breen in a "flash mob" challenge with enough incentive to draw everyone who owns a Breen ship out...
As long as this is the case, then we're looking at "restriction lifted". On a side note, you realize that the relatively unique BOff layout, fact that it's a 10-console "fleet" grade ship, and is an extremely rare (Fed side, at least) cruiser-variant that can mount DHCs, and we have a situation where a lot of people still fly their Breen ship, even in light of what the Zen store offers - it might take tier 5 shipyards being fairly common to nudge a lot of these cruiser-captains back into "faction" Fed ships...

I'm really conflicted... on the one hand I'm a giant Dom fanboy and I kinda wish Cryptic would just port everything over to a Dom faction and get it over with. On the other hand, PvP basically has nothing to do with Starfleet/KDF at this point and the amount of ships with inexplicable hangar bays is reaching the truly absurd.
So let me guess, another Gecko Imba (tm) ships in the making to make all starfleet and KDF design obsolete. Bug, bug with fighter, bug with even more fighters. GG, Dominion Online.
"Cryptic Studio’s Jack Emmert (2010): Microtransactions are the biggest bunch of nonsense. I like paying one fee and not worrying about it – like my cellphone. The world’s biggest MMO isn’t item based, even though the black market item GDP is bigger than Russia … microtransactions make me want to die.”
Since I am still waiting for the RSE, i can't wait to see how friggin OP the abilities of D'deridex and co are going to be. Seriously Gecko, keep at it, and yes once i m in my warbird, all gloves come off and every single ultra-rare BS item is game on.
I kind of pity most people here. I just arrived, but this lock box trope has become a staple of the most shady F2P MMOs out there. People feel forced to get the top prize because if they don't they feel 'left behind'.
People spend exorbitant sums, teeter on the edge of personal ruin. Get addicted... If you think it doesn't happen, think again.
I don't however pity them, because stupidity is it's own reward.

Nope, again that is the bs excuse Cryptic keep pulling out to justify the cost of these ships etc.
It has nothing to do with CBS at all, as if that was the case, they would not have been allowed to give the Breen ship away for free....

ROLL TIDE ROLL
1) Can we get some nice pictures of the Mk XII Jem'Hadar armor visual, on male and female characters?
2) The Dilithium Mining Claim, does it come in a tradeable reward pack (like the temporal beacons), or is it bind-on-pickup from the lockbox?
3) Will there also be a playable Jem'Hadar fighter in the Lobi store, in the traditional 300-Lobi bracket? It's not mentioned in the blog.
