    No router, direct modem connection.

    It is working today!!!

    So is "startrekonline.com" which the launcher uses.

    They should update the launcher to use "http://sto.perfectworld.com/" instead.

    This willl fix everyone's launcher issues.

    i logged on this morning to find that i could not log onto sto and it says can't connect to patch server. i tried unistalling it through steam and installing it with the direct download launcher and that didnt work. please help.

    Hello markmmaillet1111!

    Please navigate to the following folder: C:\Users\Public\Games\Cryptic Studios\Star Trek Online\Live\piggs

    Once there, locate a file (smaller means quicker fix) and delete it. This will force a patch/verify from the server and re-download the missing file as well as fix any other corrupted file which in turn will (or at least should) allow you access to the game.

    Let me know if it worked or didn't and I'll continue to dig for a solution for you.

    Had same prob. I havent even got to play the game yet. Got it yesterday during the "server being patched". Now during then it didnt work. I tried today... still didnt work. When i open STO it comes up with a thing called Cryptic Launcher autoupdate. says try one for while... hits try 2 and comes up with "The patchclient got a message while it was in a state with no responce function". Now i noticed none of you got THIS message. So im going to ask... HOW DO I GET IT WORKING !?!? Good luck to the others having familier problems.:)

    Says same thing... i deleted charecter file in the location and no difference... i hope i havent ruined game :eek::(

    Tryed to use it once found as complicating as ****. I just went download, and did direct... maybe should have done torrent... I dunno ... i didnt click direct but popup said do you wish to download this file and yeah

    Same problem here is the 5 time i have dowloaded and every time i face this error but after an hour aprox. i can log in but there appears another problem at the patch. after a wile the game works fine so i suggest to solve this problem because is iritating!!!:mad:

    I havnt been able to log in aswell after the patch. I keep getting "Unable to establish connection to the Patch Server. Please check your connection. if problem continues plz contact customer support" Now my internet connect is fine otherwise I wouldn't be able to log on here.

    Secondly I did a Speedtest all is fine on my Norton 360 its all set to allowed. I reset my router and restarted my computer and stuff. I can log onto wow/swtor/lol just fine

    Can anyone please help?

    This indicates the issue is with the Cogent Communication Boston Hub and the Server Farm hosting the STO Servers...

    As PWE has been kicking Cogent over its routing tables for the past few months, so they need to add your IP/Internet route into the list that needs to be addressed...

    My launcher says I need 5466 MB, so how are you able to play after only downloading 960?

    Since the latest patch and the previous many many patches. I always seem to hit this bug, no connection to patch server. And the launcher times out, I can't use the game client, which is even more annoying. So, does anyone have the latest launcher again, please?

    I have the same problem! Everytime I try to open the launcher, it doesn't work!

    I've had the same issue since the servers went back up, I had the launcher pulled up and the patch was downloaded but had to close it. From that point forward I've been unable to get it back up. I can't even get the C-store pulled up.

    While the OP says Jan 4th, Branflakes said the link in the OP delivers the latest launcher.
