Tachyon Harmonic shield damage and the Tetryon ground proc are still broken? I'm sure updating the trees and rocks on New Romulus is important and all, but abilities that don't work properly should have a higher priority...
nice patch notes just wish there was more cstore items and uniforms
ps for kdf
These are not just nice patch-notes, I would say it's "Cryptics U-Turn-Patch"... When I remember the first time I saw those Reputation-Projects on Tribbel, I remember that you had to put Dilithium into them, now you get Dilithium out of them!
There are still a few tweaks Cryptic could do, for example: I don't know how a new character is supposed to get Dilithium (except the Dilithium Exchange) to grind up Doffs, to contribute to Fleet-/Embassy-Projects and so on...
What do you think? Do you think somebody who is new to the game and is supposed to put money into it would stay, or would he just stop playing? Cryptic, these new people in the game could become paying customers, but they won't put money into the game just after they first launched the game.
Do I need to explain you the free to play concept? I'd think you missed one important letter, it's not "free to pay"!

If Star Trek Online was an Open-Source (GPL) Game, we would have a low-grind fork.
We're going to extend our timeframe by 30 minutes, but expect to have the server up closer to the original time than 30 minutes later The patch is so epic that it needs a few extra minutes before we let you all in. Patching should be enabled fairly soon, too.
This doesn't just affect the Vesta, but we are working on a fix. In the meantime, you can set it by switching to a different tray, right-clicking to set it, and then switch back to the tray you'd like to use.
Cheers,

does that soonTM fix include fixing the misfiring torpedoes?
since season 7 i notice that there are torpedoes (on autofire) that start flying from my ship towards the enemy and then suddenly dissapear from one frame to the next as if they never existed.
usually this happens when i turn my ship and the torpedo launcher gets into the firing arc.
i am aware that there were always misfiring torpedos, but they always flew all the way and exploded, they did no damage but it still looked good,
Torpedoes that fly 1km and then disappear into nothing do NOT look good.
either fix it so that these mis fires don't happen in the first place (probably not possible because its a client>server>client-latency issue?) or turn it back as it was before so that it at least doesn't look visually wrong plz.
I am the Epic Patch. Resistance is futile. You will be patched :P:P
The Wildcards Fleet =/\=
Admiral T'Vanto of the I.R.W. Dreaded Balerion (Scimitar Dreadnought Warbird) "Burn them All!"
AdmiralAtraxis of the U.S.S. Daskalogiannis (Avenger class Cruiser) "I am Iron Cat!"
Hmm, I can't remember the last time we had Friday patch. Just out of curiosity (I don't actually own a transwarping Excelsior), if you moved the transwarp console to a different ship, would you still have to claim a new ship and get a new console to
do not think it works that way. If it is anything like the Console on the C-store Excelsior's (which I have and love) then the Transwarp to different sectors is part of the ship, not the console...

Well, they've got to make sure that everything is "working as intended"... They won't have time for an emergency-patch tomorrow, so just give them a little more time...
Things that make this patch some sort of unique:
- it was delayed by 24 hours,
- it needs longer downtime

PROUD TO PLAY THIS GAME MINUS TO GIVING ANY INCOME TO CRYPTIC
It's because they want to be able to introduce ships which have innate abilities and no console abilities. Originally they weren't going to do that, because then there was no reason to buy the C-store version, but they decided they would include them - just make them more expensive to compensate.
Excelsior has TW to all sectors, which is innate and not a console ability. If it was a console ability, it would be 4 modules, but as it's innate it's 5.
Got it?
that only would only make sense if it comes with 10 consoles slots like all the other Fleet Ships + the Transwarps on top of it. Is that the case?
and nobody was opposed to having the T5 excelsiors Transwarp changed into a console back when they wanted to do it! But Cryptic removed certain Transwarp locations from the Tier 5 version and added it to the Tier 3 instead, Transwarps that we already payed for!
And that got a very negative response of course (nobody was opposed to turning it into a console and getting an extra console slot IF the power itself had stayed unchanged).
Instead they just rolled it back completely and now the Transwarps can not be moved to another Ship, and can not be removed for an alternate console either...
but of course we can all buy those Transwarp consumables in the Dilithium-Store for just 35000 Dilithium ...per Jump. Because that is so economically logical to grind dilithium for 5 Days instead of just flying there with Warp. (i doubt anybody in their right mind has ever bought that item... if it was a permanent transwarp for 35000 i could understand but a consumable? LOL! )
leave the assimilated module as a mission reward for Assimilated please
it's not like you're offering the entire set, or have you failed to realize that the Reman Covariant Shield Array is still a mission reward for Coliseum, and is also a setpiece item
SHHHHH!
Must be crazy to point that out :P
Seriously, all that will happen is they will take that away, so I guess I better run that this morning for all my VA toons...

I know I shat rainbows and spewed awesome for a week when I saw the 35k Dilithium Trash bin that is the Transwarp Disposable Clickie.
I really hope this is a misprint. If not, what is the reasoning behind removing an episode reward? Are there plans to remove the Reman Shield, the Breen Set, and the Jem'hadar set as well?
Dude... are you TRYING to get the Reman shield and Jem'hadar set removed from those missions? you should never point out something like that, as it will just result in more stuff being taken away...

I'm going to say these patch changes are overall positive and will improve the game.
Business changes I'd like to see in the future, and general game suggestions, include:
Better team inclusion for Terradome attempts--it's now difficult to integrate newcomers
More methods of purchase/fabrication/unlock for rare consoles
Consoles should always be tradable, even after a player equips them (crunch the numbers, you'll agree with me on this. You've got nothing to lose, here)
Many more items should be transferable within accounts, not just characters. Rethink the current formulas and lean toward quality experience, not just quantity of purchases alone. Never let your business office get greedy or players will sense it and privately boycott, decreasing overall revenue and maybe player population. Back to the basics, often. Quality and experience first, always.
An "upgrade to premium" option can now be included in-game *IF* the button/menu-option is non-obvious and just discovered when a player is exploring the game buttons. Otherwise it's too pushy and obvious as a revenue-grab (counter-productive, every time in the long term).
Generous new player recruitment rewards can be offered any time now. Just redistribute the on-line players into map instances, more evenly by default, to make room for population expansion.
Borg weapons rebalance, particularly in STFs with their 1-hit-kill attacks (though their normal weapons could be just a bit stronger, in my opinion). They should also spread moderate damage among players, enhancing realism
SFT 'gateway' weapon range could be reduced somewhat, perhaps to 6k, and their damage blunted a bit more to accommodate would-be last-second efforts to save a near-loss "optional" win
Fleet reinforcements buff (the 50% hull one) should never just show up, then disappear--it should at least engage enemies. It should also match the player's target sometimes. The hull requirement itself could also be eliminated completely, just for kicks (perhaps exclusively for lower-level players?) Sometimes you just need reinforcements
Urgently: Fleet Defiant Boff Ensign Tac slot to some other Ensign slot (now makes PWE/Cryp seem oblivious to play-experience) There is ample reason to change *from* that ship or from tac career already, without the glitch
Most space pets could be combat-enabled. I mean, why not? Is there a reason?
Vesta shield effect fix
Vulcan ships shield effect fix
Fleet Defiant should have cloak console included to increase console availability (people will eventually trade them away anyway, increasing overall demand for game currency), Zen Defiant should have inherent cloak abilities to entice players to purchase it via zen
I'm beginning to agree that XII items should be included in drops, even if very rarely.
Finally, wider availability of all ship repair components and *brace yourself* a change of minor ship damage during normal game play (after level 30ish?). Yes, I believe the necessity of carrying 5 or 10 minor components could bring a tiny yet tangible reason not to get blown up so often in space. Although it should occur only very, very rarely and method of repair be explained clearly. At the moment, dying in space fights with no consequence ever just feels fake. Maybe 1 time out of 15 we could accumulate minor damage. Perhaps the first 5 minor component(s) could be transferred to player from Starfleet upon first damage in the game experience. STF damage likelihood could be reduced slightly to balance component necessity. Ground missions should never, ever have such a system--keep ground respawn free forever and ever (would be a deal-breaker for sure). I'm confident that requirement of minor components would be a boon to STO. It will be more realistic and not expensive-feeling for players to repair on the go.
Let me say again I think you are on top of the improvements of this game. It is fun, inclusive, and dynamic. Your improvements seem to enhance it at every patch. I'm extremely impressed with PWE/Cryptic's handling of STO lately.
Thanks for listening so well to your gamers. Cheers!

ok i'll let my fleet leader know this when the server comes back online..but in respect to you and your team..theres alot more issues with the vesta class than just the autofire issue. Case in point..my fleet leader spent $40 to buy the vesta package offered in the c-store. Since then he cannot use autofire or even equipped fleet weaponary to the vesta. In addition to this he cant even switch ships till the issues are fixed. I agree with alot here that there are more important bugs in need of some serious fixing but i have to approach this as a paying customer to this server. Wouldnt it have been more practical to alot of players here that the issues with the new vesta class ships also should been added to the patch so they can be fixed? Cause of this simple issue alone i am holding off on spending money to the C-store on buying the vestas. Not all sure who else is having the same issues like my fleet leader and co-leader but i would myself consider this a serious issue since money was used to buy this.
Cheers
