It actually should be, per the known issues section :) It lists DOFFs, but I think it affects both. Please let me know if this is not the case tomorrow when you log-in.

    Cheers,

    Brandon =/\=

What about the renegade boffs from KDF tier 4 marauding not being trainable? Have this one on an engineer pretty much unusable until it gets fixed up and was bad enough they didn't work in the tailor but now this :(

When have T1-T2 projects ever had 20 hour durations? Did I miss something?

yeah you did....they changed the t1 and t2 rep xp projects to 20 hours about a week and 1/2 ago

I find this line of replies sadly hilarious. We put a lot of work into the massive list of fixes/changes above, and ya'll are hung up on the ability to skip our content. =p

Actually there's one of each for bother Federation and KDF. For the Feds, the Fleet Assault Cruiser requires shipyard tier 5, but the Fleet Advanced Heavy Cruiser Retrofit only requires shipyard tier 3. For the KDF, the Fleet B'rel Bird of Prey is tier 5, and the Fleet Varanus Support Vessel is tier 3.

Thanks for correcting me. I misread the patch notes. :o

I really hope this is a misprint. If not, what is the reasoning behind removing an episode reward? Are there plans to remove the Reman Shield, the Breen Set, and the Jem'hadar set as well?

Because currently the Assimilated Console is already part of the Omega reputation. They are removing an easy free way to get it as their intentions are for us to actually work for it and pay 15k dilithium. That's right. After you unlock tier 1 omega you get a project for the console and it costs 15k dilithium among other costs. It is NOT a store unlock but simply you claim the reward after the project is finished. If you want another console for another ship you have to do the project again and wait another 2 days. The same goes for most, if not all, set equipment through the rep system. Wait 2 days per piece for a total of 6 days for a complete 3 piece set, or 4 days if you do 2 of the set gear projects at the same time.

    Nov. 21, 2012 Patch notes:
    http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=456931
Duration of all T1 and T2 Reputation XP projects has been reduced from 40 hours to 20 hours.

They have been that way for a week. :)

I haven't really done anything with the rep system yet. Had a look in my hud, decided to come back another time (though been running around gathering Romulan marks). So I have no idea what this is about:

Removed Tier requirements on Mark-to-Dilithium conversion projects.

These projects can now be slotted immediately upon reaching level 50 and unlocking the Reputation system.

I'd be more inclined to start using the rep system if I can get dil from it. So.... can someone explain to me what this project is and how I find it?

    "Hold your horses Dudes!" :D

Before everyone decry the new patch and start seeing everything negativ it is better to sit and wait.
Give them a chance to bring the ship again in the right direction, rome wasnt built in one day.

Calm down Dudes and practice yourself in patience...i have the feeling that our critic has hit their opened ear.

Everything isnt fine and i am still a little bit disapointet about we have had been handled as customer, but i am noticing that critic is heared and they are trying to keep us playing.
    just be constructive!

See Brandon mate, this is the kind of response I don't understand. Surely you guys will know yourselves if it worked when you log-in? Borticus was asking us to explain the non-contributing BOFF issue two weeks ago and yet anyone who plays the game and is in a fleet at that level knows full well what the issue is and how to reproduce it.

So my question to you and Jeremy and all the others at Cryptic is why do you need us to tell you these extremely obvious things unless you don't happen to play the game yourselves?

Now according to what I have read on many interviews most if not all you guys at Cryptic actually have a player account and even play the game yourselves. Is your version of the game different to ours? This is not a bug than only affects some people it affects ALL players.

Would you care to explain why you need us to confirm if your patch has fixed the game?

    Cheers
    Matt

?? Wow, no need to be like that.

It's not a bug that my fleet ever experienced, just because it happened to YOU doesn't mean it happened to EVERYONE.

Does it means, you have not tested it and you are not sure it is fixed now (again)???

Um one question why cost the Fleet Advanced Heavy Cruiser Retrofit and the Fleet B'rel Bird-of-Prey 5 and not 4 Flee Modules when you don't have the Zen store version? Is this a mistake in the patch notes?

Been explained a dozen times in this very thread: The ships in question have an innate ability, NOT a console. Hence, the increase in the module cost.

What's "work" about that ? It has nothing to do with effort but with grind. From looks of things they simply want no one at all to ever bother again with storyline missions but instead focus 100% on dilithium grind and/or marks grind ... otherwise I can't explain this decision . The way the unlocks or claims work is horrible design : grinding dilithium takes no effort at all ( it isn't challenging ) , just time. From their perspective that might seem ideal-because it means they can take lots longer in adding content - but it always backfires . That can and already could be witnessed in other MMO's which attempted the same ploy and which subsequently folded .

as far as i am concerned - the fleet b'rel should be tier 3. Thank you for bringing this.
Will i get the fleet module bonus (per character) as a 900day veteran - i got the B'rel for free on every toon and can't seem to buy it as "i already have it"??

i'm NOT buying ANY new character slots, cause i am effectively discouraged to create new toons and grind the equipment i was getting for free previously. Assimilated console, STF drops, etc.
You really could leave us a CHANCE, no matter how small, on a MK XI, XII set drop, that way we would be inclined to finish our sets with the reputation projects.

I am also VERY unhappy about the bonuses of the new KHG set.

Will there be EVER a way for a KDF officer to get to a set with the +25 on projectile damage?

If no, i am also staying with my old MK XI KHG sets and not buying new sets from the Omega reputation, cause i have NO use for it.

other updates seem to be positive.

    WHAT ABOUT FLEET MARKS?

Well, it's nice to see the patch is addressing the excessive costs of the Duty Officer Exchange.

The patch does little for the dilithium and fleet mark issues, which are among the most important in the game right now.

Nice patchnotes, keep up the good work! :)

Tl;dr summary of what I like the most:

    * Updated the visual appearance of all of the Breen ships.

    * The timer should now reliably start after tagging the first epohh.
    * Updated the visual appearance of the trees and rocks on New Romulus.
    * Updated the voice over audio for the New Romulus content.
    * Staging Area event mission updated to increase bug population and make it easier to complete.

    * Resolved an issue that prevented several missions from completing.

    * Updated New Romulus Mountain Pass - Defeat Tal Shiar Agents mission now completes correctly.
    * The Tau Dewa Radiation Scan Daily is now correctly being offered from the Radiation Radiophysicist in the Staging Area of New Romulus after scanning radiation 10 times.

    * Fixed various text and formatting errors with descriptions on Romulan Reputation projects.
    * All Tier-Up projects have had their durations reduced from 1 hour to 15 minutes.
    * All Tier-Up projects have had their Dilithium costs completely removed.
    * Significantly lowered the cost of the items in the Omega reputation consumable store.

    * Vesta ships now get a recharge reduction on launching Hangar Pets from Auxiliary Power. (not 100% sure about thatone, is it the time between launches or the powerlevels that is reduced? hm)
    * Slightly increased base damage of Quantum Field Focus Phaser.

The Cutting Beam rewarded by the Reputation system is no longer firing from the center of the player's ship.
Dont want to be disrespectful, but REALLY?? Who complained about this? There are fixes for minor display bugs like this, wich i dont think anyone complained about, while major display bugs like omega ground set weapon display (no display actually) are here for months. I mean, c'mon, its an end game content and its here since S6 launch :(
When can we espect a fix for that?

Still no fix for special shields not displaying properly on the Vesta? Not a surprise as the Vulcan ship hasn't displayed shield effects properly either since as long as I've used it. Pretty pathetic really as it means shield effects have to be turned off or look stupid with the nacelles staying the default texture on the Vesta and the ring on the Vulcan ship.

You don't need to pay Zen for a new ship. There's a free ship at Lvs 10, 20, 30, and 40 for silver (f2p) players :)

Good. The only bugs in the patch notes I deem were necessary to fix were the private queues, and the stuck starbase projects. Everything else in this set of patch notes is fluff that does not truly affect game play. Beyond these which are fixed, I almost never encounter bugs with STO and am quite satisfied with it.

I can confirm this. I am also quite new to the game (I registered a while ago but wasnt that into it, but since two weeks I play almost daily) and I got with each new rank a brandnew ship.

As the forums rank doesnt show my ingame rank: my main char is rear admiral lower halv (40) since today and i got the 3rd ship today.

This doesn't just affect the Vesta, but we are working on a fix. In the meantime, you can set it by switching to a different tray, right-clicking to set it, and then switch back to the tray you'd like to use.
