Also, as a reminder, the VA Retrofit doesn't come w/ the console (!?!), so be sure to claim thetier 1 and grab the console before dismissing and claiming the tier 5.
Oh! Good to know. Thanks!
You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.
You're supposed to be able to claim the ship on all your feds, same as you would any Zen store ship purchase. It's pretty clear that all the other stuff from the pack is single character though.
it's odd that I have claimed the full pack on two characters.
i just started star trek, bought the steam bundle. says i can unlock at level 2.
i made a human.
i think im a level 2, did teh tutorials and first mission and i have a 2 next to my Rank leutenant.
but i go to unlock it on the website store and it says my character is not compatible.
can some one help me?
not sure what im doing
you claimed it from the Bundle tab ingame C-Store?
Is it saying this when you try to open the Crate with the Tier 1 ship?

Is the steamrunner retrofit worth the $9 from steam?
Not to mention you are getting more then the VA ship for $9.99. You get 2 ships, and high quality low level items. A weapon, personal shield, armor, quantum torpedo, ship shield. A standard VA ship in the C-store is 20-25 dollars.

Indeed:
Tier 1 ship w/ console $5
Part of a Federation Starter = $2
Which leaves $3 for a Tier 5 VA ship w/ 10 console slots.
It was a Great Deal.

Once they fix the VA ship to have the 1.0 shield modifier, ABSOLUTELY!
That modifier gives the Steamrunner best hull and shield of any non-lockbox escort in the game, even better than the fleet ships. For $10. For a full account-wide unlock. Heck of a buy. If only I could buy it for 1000 zen instead (which I already have stocked)....
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
As a heads up, even though the description for the Steam bundle states that if you delete your Steamrunner you can reclaim it through the ship store, this is currently not possible. Because the whole bundle can only be claimed once character, you can't reclaim them that way instead.
Hopefully it's not a case of the descriptive text being incorrect and that the situation will be corrected.

I am not surprised. They have had those issues with other bundles too. That would be the downside to them I guess.
Update: Disregard... must have just taken a bit for Steam and STO to talk or something I tried it a bit later and it worked.
Ok I'm having a weird issue... I got the code by right clicking it on STEAM but when I try to reclaim it on the website it says the key does not exist???
"The key you entered does not exist. Please check the key."
Any one know wth is going on there or do I need to contact cryptic?
what a terrible precedent this is setting, you can earn zen by converting dilithium but if the players have too much dil we'll release a "special" elsewhere.
I bet they made a fortune from the steamrunner and you guys are all lapping it up instead of asking why its not in the z-store.
sad days .

You can reclaim the ship from the ship vendor for free. Its added in there once you use the initial crate with the ship in it.

I'm not that concerned, honestly. It's an incentive for Steam users to try the game. The fact that existing users are gaming the system to get one is immaterial. I think it's a brilliant move by STO to try to get more folks into the game. And I honestly can't complain if they make some extra revenue off it. Hopefully that will get pumped back into more development to improve the game.
Honestly STO has slowly become my primary MMO. I originally tried it on a lark and wound up enjoying it. My only big gripe right now is the amount of 'grind' in the game. I like what I'm seeing with Chap 7's changes though, hopefully it'll reduce the overall grind for dilithium. I was definitely one of those captains who was only getting around 2-3,000 dilithium a day. Glad to see they saw that problem because the old dilithium system sucked. If you didn't grind endless STF's or something like that you wound up getting very very little dilithium each day.

ever checked how many people play the game through steam?
ever checked how many people use steam /potential customers compared to how many use raptr or any other MMO ?
ever checked how easy and safe is to use steam wallet to buy zen and games compared to credit cards/pay pak and all that mambo jambo?
Also that zen in game in the exchange is bought by people so if they add the pack in c store dilithium people will buy zen from other people. That zen is not from god there.

Three years and still no Captain Klaa hair...
its unlocked on the c-store. in the bundles tab. so i know i own it.
than it says your character cannot use this item
but on steam where i bought it says all characters can use it at level 2.
do i have to be a monthly subscriber or somethen?
if you bought it on steam, you have to download star trek first then in libray click on it and click code.
pretty sure anyways thats how i got my code.
but at the store IT SAYS MY CHARACTER CANT USE IT
so im lost idk what to do
- Put code into C-Store
- Its unlocked
- Bundle says useable at level 2
- I believe my toon is level 2, I have a 2 next to my rank.
- Im new to star trek online, so im not sure
-Do I have to subscribe monthly or get higher level?
CommanderDonatra@Capt.Sisko: ahhh is it supposed to do that?
Norvo Tigan@dontdrunkimshoot: hell ya, maybe
so dont use my points at all???
also how do i make money in star trek?? do you have to buy with real money.
i have a mumble if anyone wants to help a newb out get started
No no, he means use your skill points (menu in the upper left/hit "U" -> spend points on your character's skill tree -> hit Accept).
And I'd love to help out but I've come down with an absolute monster of a cold. My apologies

It gives two effects for 12 seconds to you and all team mates:
20% shield resistance
Immunity to all bleedthrough damage
It would be a much sturdier ship with this change.
