Well it looks like they're adding the 1000-day ship to the c-store in away, just cough up $200 and it is yours.

This now completely invalidates the 1000-days that subscribers had to wait to get the new ship.

That said i'm at nearly 700-days myself and I might just pull the trigger and upgrade to the lifetime subscription as it now has all the now invalidated vet rewards tied to it.

For any of the current lifers though who are not anywhere near the 1000-day mark, congrats on getting to fly the new ship tomorrow.

Hmm : such a nice market strategy.
being a lifetimer and heading to 1000 is great achievment so it earns a nice ship.
But now handing it to everyone that buys al lifetime now is canceling the purpose of even having a 1000 vet reward and for those that bought it from start, nothing new is added then.
So i guess they only intrested in money

That's right, according to the front page, when you buy an LTS, you get instant access to ALL vet rewards including the 1000 day ships. This also includes all current LTS that were waiting a few more days to get the ships.

    Instant LTS Rewards

i have to agree, at this point are there any perks left for being a beta-LTS

anyone can get Borg and Joined Trill Captains at this point

the only perk we had left was that we get first access to vet rewards, really why even call them Vet reward. they are just LTS-perks now

thanks i'm so glad i bought a lifetime sub that was only supposed to be available at game start, so breach of contract there. now all my time spent in this game means nothing because you can buy everything i have. what is the benefit to those of us who have been in game since beta?

I've been LTS for a long time, and even though it hasn't been 2 years yet, it's already seriously returned the investment for me.

This is just gravy right now :D
    Was named Trek17.

Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.

It just reeks of a money grab - what? Two days before the first of the 1000 day vets gets their ship? Anyone can sink $300 and get what's taken that player nearly three years to accumulate? A player that ponied up for an LTS when the game was in its infancy, rife with bugs, with major balance and gameplay issues and a massive lack of content.

Back then, the LTS was a massive gamble - one which has only sorta paid off - sure, if I'd been paying monthly, I'd have paid way more than what I did *but* - this isn't the Star Trek game I invested in - and it never will be. This ship was Cryptic's last nod to those that had (misplaced) faith. And they've even cashed in on that.

    Good job.

Cryptic I'm very disappointing. From the vet page:
    Q: What if I'm a Lifetime Subscriber?
A: If you are a Lifetime Subscriber, you will still need to wait 100 days from the day you purchased your Lifetime Subscription to be eligible for the 100 Day Veteran Rewards, 200 days for the 200 Day Rewards, and so on.

I thought you had a passion for doing things right and with the Trek style with money being 2nd at least, bring back the days in some respects to F2P from a management /business standpoint...

and this is said from a 906 day vet whose happy to wait the remainder for 1000 days...
Join date: April 2010 ; Lifetime Sub since April 2010. Actual 1000 day vet.

Now be good with people who are here since February 2010 and give us a unique painting for this ship to show who REALLY did the thousand days:mad:

    Really cryptic?

Veterans have been in the game for over 900 days and throughout that time we have been rewarded for our patience in seeing out what this game has to offer throughout those 3 years. Now some person can spend ?300 on the game and get all the rewards we have been patient for. I think the word "VETERAN" in those rewards mean those players who are veterans not some newbie who comes into the game and gets the 1000 day vet ship instantly.

959 days on STO so far, LTS.
Overjoyed that I'm getting the vet ship earlier than I expected.
    Such delicious tears here.

All fail Cryptic, again you fail to deliver what you promised.

This ship is no longer a 1000 day vet reward it is an LTS reward and a damn late one at that. So where is our 1000 day vet reward? Come on Cryptic cough up.

This is rather disappointing. Was thinking about coming back to this game full-time and actually finishing a few of my Foundry missions that I had been developing but now ... I dunno. What's the point?

Cryptic, while the new ships look very interesting and may even be a plausible replacement for my old faithful Advanced Escort, I'm afraid that when it comes to this strategy, I have to disagree in the strongest possible manner, and I shall explain why.

To put it simply, the Vet rewards are powerful messages showcasing our commitment to the game, to reach 1000 days is a feat unto itself, and adding a ship for that milestone makes it a highly prized vessel with a huge amount of respect behind it. In adding this and every other vet reward to anyone who gets a lifetime subscription, no matter how many days (or lack thereof, as the case is) they have subscribed, you do two detrimental things to your game.

Firstly, you de-value all of the vet rewards, making them less desireable and less of an incentive to keep playing. This will impact the staying power of your game if someone can pay money to skip the queue.

Secondly, you alienate your subscribers, which will represent a substantial amount (if not the rampant majority) of your playerbase. I would feel entirely invalidated as a consumer if everything I stayed for (especialy during those times I felt as though I should just leave, of which there have been many) was suddenly at the fingertips of anyone with a sack of money to dump at your feet. Taking what I worked to get and then just giving it to the richer guy makes me feel like a second-class consumer, and I can guarantee I will not be the only one.

Besides, my subscription now equals to more than a lifetime subscription in the long run, so in technical terms, you are giving the easy route to the guy who is going to pay less.

Again Cryptic, I implore you to turn this around, the staying power of your game -WILL- be affected, possibly permanently, and some of your recent decisions have already been met with widespread criticism, you cannot afford to keep making bad decisions.

I earned my Vet rewards with commitment, not cash.

Look, I get it, but it's still kind of a **** move.

This doesn't really affect me directly, as I would've gotten this thing within the next two or three days anyway, and my main computer picked last night to completely fry (on a netbook now), meaning I'll probably not be in game for a while, but it's the message sent along with it. In one fell swoop you've soundly beaten the EVE monocle, and shown that those who have actually been with you since day one really mean absolutely nothing to you. Veteran awards were the industry standard method for showing some appreciation, and you've destroyed yours.

So congratulations, that's once more one less line in the sand for you to worry about.

this is probably the biggest bone headed idea anyone has had . what is wrong with you people , do you care anything about the player base ? The ones that have probably paid most of your salaries 10 times over in the last 3 years , do you not care that our loyalty to you is worth this .. A knife in the back . is that you really think of us ?

This is SWG all over again!!

All Vet Rewards instantly for an LTS?

    <3

I thought I'd have to wait another 200-some days for a change to call the Chimera ugly in-game while flying it, but this.... this has made my day.

Also, finally, a differentiation between subbers and LTS that's not just a blue forum name.

That said, it's probably gonna tick off some long-time subbers who were waiting to get their hands on those ships before even some LTSs, but that's just a false sense of entitlement talking.

<3 indeed. I expected to wait-I've already done so for 959 days, after all.

This saddens me greatly. I started with Closed Beta, moved to Open Beta and purchased my Lifetime subscription as soon as it was available. I have 8 days until the ship becomes available to me. I have put in a lot of time and effort into this game and now, someone who can fork out $200 dollars can get the same benefits as those of us who have put in the time to make this a great game. I feel that this is a greedy money grab by PW.

.... :( not a fan of this addition.. makes me feel that they could care less about people that have supported the game since release.

I mean it says 1000 day veteran reward.. buying lifetime sub this week or next week, to me does not warrant going tada you just made 1000 days of past support to this game all the sudden.

but nothing I can do, but say it does not seem very fair to the true 900+ day veterans.
