Meurik and I were having a discussion about the Wells in that thread, which included images and a video. Stormshade kept deleting the posts both of us made, and then made the above post to Meurik in reply to why it was being done: because they didn't want that on the forum.

After that it became apparent that no amount of deleting was going to contain the Wells info spreading. I believe the consensus after that was that we could talk about the Wells, but not include images/videos of it. And I have no way of knowing what Stormshade told the Moderators about the subject.
    Well that's a little better.

To the Devs and Moderators: don't you think it's a little arbitrary and silly to restrict pictures/video of ONE item in the game that you already accidentally released into the LIVE version of the game where EVERYONE could see it? Don't you also think it's even sillier to say we can discuss it, but not post said pictures or videos, even though anyone curious will just go to Google to find those images?

You've never restricted these discussions before, and the way you are currently handling it reminds me of someone just throwing their weight around in order to look important. Please, reconsider your unnecessary moderation in this matter.

Don't know IF this is new or simply that I never played this mission BUT I was in D'Kel (exploration tutorial) last night and got a mission (kill 5 squadrons) with Romulan ships. TOS Romulan warbirds (incidentally called 'Bird of Prey' in the game). Got some great pics.

    NEW ?

They've never had a completely unique ships leaked into the Spawn Database before - the Romulan Defender wasn't really a unique style of ship. There's nothing wrong with Cryptic not wanting to spoil the surprise for the 99% of the game's fan-base that seldom comes to the forum.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

They're called "Bird of Prey" because of Styles' comment in "Balance of Terror", which is the only thing to go on considering they were only called Warbird in SFB.;)

I thought CBS declared this forbidden? Why the heck would they go back on that? I seriously hope to never see this ship in player's hands...

CBS never said anything about the Wells. They said no to the Enterprise J.

I can't see Cryptic wasting development time on a ship that isn't meant to eventually ingame. CBS's approval should come first on any ship before wasting such dismal development resources on such a prject. I wonder if CBS has a forum to post Wells class footage since it's clearly not welcome here. :P

Ya, I just fount it comical since the 'great BoP debate' that I lost, and SFB isn't canon. Amazing in-game rendering tho.

    Sorry for the thread derail.

TrekBBS is a possibility. They've got a Gaming forum with an active STO thread.

Your frustration is understandable. But it's very clear on their Code of Conduct. But essentially, it's their website. And to quote Bungie: "You have no rights, play nice".

This should be "Grandfathered" but I made this thread ages ago wanting this ship style for an escort.

    http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=244045&highlight=dream+escort

This is a screen shot taken from another site and not from STO. The date of the post should help prevent this from removal. I copied the photo from another site and saved it to photobucket. The picture of the well ship should NOT be removed if it?s not a screen shot of the actual ship in STO space

I came across one of these in a Romulan mission I was playing, U.S.S. Lakota just sat there doing nothing.

Is this something they are just testing in game or is it something to do with Season 7?

Hope they are not bringing back the Temporal War. :D

The Wells was accidentally slipped into the Spawn Database with the last patch. This happened once before with the Romulan Defender ship. It will probably be removed in next Thursday's patch.

Dstahl first hinted about a Wells playable ship back in July, so it's clearly coming into the game one way or another: C-Store, Vet Reward, or Lockbox.

Ugh, now you're going to make me dig, aren't you...

Priority One 86 with Lead Designer Al Rivera:

    http://priorityonepodcast.com/wordpress/priority-one-episode-86-supplemental-the-shipyard-with-al-rivera/

Skip up to 1:05:00 "the other ones that I want... CBS is giving me a little push back on this, but I want to keep pushing... "

So, you are correct, not forbidden, just resistant.

Shortly after the above, "There is one KDF ship coming" This is separate from the Wells thing... mentioned as part of the 1000-day ship (says new ship, not variant) though some of the Foundry leaks suggest that ship (which I cannot mention here) is the KDF Timeship, so yeah.

My latinum is on a Wells/Korlath 1000-day vetran reward, complete with "Future" skin.

I look at this as more of Cryptic's way of covering things up and we shold be used to it by now. Look at how long it took them to fess up to our account data being stolen. Maybe they'll admit to this being a mistake in a couple of years time also.

They "fessed up" to the accounts being TRIBBLE when they discovered it in April. The fact that it happened 16 months before they discovered it, when Atari was controlling the database, doesn't mean they were hiding that fact from us.

Feel free to believe that. You have mods and Dev's runnign around deleting posts containing anything visual in relation to the Wells class ship or how to find it ingame. No official word as to why this isn't permitted and why this isn't allowed on the boards. The ship is on Holodeck, Tribble, and in the Foundry. Cryptic's track record for fessing up to their own... issues is a very poor one!

    Dear Community Members,

Like to point out one minor detail from the Perfect World Entertainment Community Rules and Policies...
PWE has the final say on all aspects of this community. If you have a problem, you may make a complaint to PWE directly through our support site, and not publicly on the website. Creating threads or posts that question or reference administrative decisions or potential administrative decisions, such as post removals and thread closures, is not permitted.

Public discussion of moderation actions is a "don't". If you believe any posts were removed in error, please feel free to submit a ticket via the support website or via email.

I, personally, am not trying to hide anything or get my jollies -- I am acting according to the guidelines I was set, as fairly as I know how, using my own discretion. I believe the other mods are also acting in good faith. If you're seeing an increase in moderation, the difference is that there are more of us drinking from the firehose now.

Please consider this before making any further comments in this thread about how the subject has been moderated. It will not get you anywhere and needless to say could have a negative outcome.

Or in other words, "Th-th-th-That's All Folks!" :D
