I'm a journalist by trade and you just learned one of the cardinal lessons: you can go live with what you think you know before you've properly checked it, and while you might beat everyone else to the story, if you're wrong you'll get raked over the coals for it.
Note that the republish we started last night is only done with about 60% of previously published projects. If your project is missing do not panic, it is most likely just not been republished yet. We estimate that the republish should be done with all projects in about 10 to 12 hours.

Well, it's nice to know that one can still learn something despite not being in school. hehe
But yeah, as I said before, I've definitely learned my lesson. I won't mention anything else, even if I have the slightest inkling. I'll wait for a developer to say something. (like one had just a few posts back)
I appreciate you guys accepting my apology, though. It means a lot.

Oh. I already made a bunch of drama about how Exploratory Crisis vanished. (and was about to do the same here )
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.

Maybe mentioning what to do if an author discovers a problem with the republishing would be a good idea?
I can't wait to work some more on my mission (will be titled "Finding Lascaux"), because it has a lot of moving parts and dialogue to get into place, but just being able to play others' missions is a big step forward.
That said--I SOOOO cannot wait to do more with my mission!

I'm not sure of the title of my next mission, but it's definitely going to involve the TOS interior. I can't tell you all how long I've been dying to use it.
I cant wait till the foundry editor is back up either. im still in the learning process, but i will be going through an 8 series spanning across the galaxy but all of it is still in the working. still need to write the story. I still need to familiarize with the star trek lore. but again i could make something up that isnt in the star trek timeline. will have to see what happens
Another one I've got in the works is a 3-part story involving the Federation, the Klingons, the Borg and the Undine, but I'm waiting until they enable the feature where we can string our missions together before publishing it, though I certainly won't let that stop me from planning it out.

If you're looking to familiarize yourself with Star Trek lore, I highly recommend Memory Alpha, the canon Star Trek wiki. In addition, this STOwiki article contains STO's backstory and connects it to canon. Each "Volume" represents a different year, from 2380 onwards.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone

ah cool, thanks psycoticvulcan, ill look into it.:)
Well their still no foundry editing yet. or am i missing something?
Hope it's up before Thursday, I'm done with the Fleet Grinding and rather use my free time on the Foundry.
yea im getting tired of the fleet grinding. I was hoping to get ahold of one of those fleet ships but you have to buy something of the zen store to use allong with the fleet credits. I for one am getting tired of grinding for nothing. but im glad the foundry missions are up that give me something else to do while i wait, but my patience is starting run out with PW. still no update on when the editer will be up.
Well thank you to all the programmers who finally got the missions back online. I already played mine and noted the following;
In "The Other Starfleet" - Some people sitting at the table ended up sitting on the floor. This will be corrected as soon as we have access to the Foundry editor again.
In "The Other Academy" - My anomaly will need to fixed with a name. No real issues there.
I found no problems with the other missions and the ones I did are insignificant. Pats on the backs of all involved.
I can't seem to find mine or my girlfriend's missions. I remembered our original usernames (before the changeover) so I input those, but nothing came up.

Is it possible that you are logged in with a lower-level toon, and the mission uses high-level enemies? If so, you won't find your missions.
I was convinced that my "Helna of Troy" didn't republish, until I remembered to log in with my VA to find it.
if you have a spare 15 million EC's (at time I looked)...
You're hitting the known Exchange bug that we've had for 5-6 months that has now gotten a lot worse. Pick the Very rare rarity and I think it;s the ship device category before your searching. Should be about 5m.
And anything in game money is still a lot cheaper than using real money, right?
Comments
The editor will remain disabled. During this time, reviewing of Foundry missions will also be disabled.
I'll be creating a thread in the Foundry bug forums for authors (and other players) to post any bugs they see that weren't present before Season 6.
Thank you all for your assistance and your patience.
EDIT:
The republishing of all the missions is still in progress, so Don't Panic if you don't see one of yours there.
Awww, but I want to make the sequel to Exploratory Crisis...
Will do a test IMMEDIATELY to see if it survived. And by IMMEDIATELY, I mean within the next 10 minutes to 30 minutes.

First, don't panic.
Second, post here: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=5004641#post5004641
Technically you might have to if, by "the Foundry", you mean the editing feature. hehe

It's still the maintenance forum; it's just another way for us to pass the time while the maintenance is being performed.
Plus we've all got two things in common: we love the Foundry and we want it back.
ah cool, thanks psycoticvulcan, ill look into it.:)

No worries, you're not missing anything; the editing for the Foundry's still down.

If you;re talking about those fleet ship modules, they're sellable and available on the exchange.
