Tholian Ground Set

Anyone know if it comes with a visual unlock like the Maco/omega/KHG ? :D

    There's a tholian ground set?

    I thought all that was out was some different EVA suits and [sonic] weapons.

    Players will earn reward packs for completing missions.
    Including a chance to get a Tholian gear set and new, combat-ready EV suits.
    Complete missions here during the Fleet Mark event to earn Fleet Marks.

    The loot appears to drop at random from the medium,hard and easy missions.

    Thoose are individual parts, and not sets...

    The tooltip always has additional info if it's part of a set
    Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

    There is most certainly a Tholian Ground Set.

    I got the gun for it late last night... I'm not at my home computer right now, so I can't look up the names of the items, but the gist of it is that it's a very rare "cold gun" that applies cold damage and slows the Tholians. There is an EV suit and a third item in the 'set' as listed in the item description.

    just got the "armour" peice... its nothing special... just a bright orange eva suit.

    The question is not so much whether the suit has a visual (STF gear doesn't) but whether collecting all three parts unlocks a tailor costume (which is how STF gear works).

    Someone linked it and it come up at the bottom with parts 2 and 3.

    it did not list any bonuses but tooltips have been known not to display correctly.

    There is a Tholian ground set. The armor, at least, is a gold-plated EVA suit.

    I would say thats what i am aiming to get now but as it happens i am still after the cursed MkXII MACO ground and space set
    thats a point is there going to be a Tholian counter space set or not?? i have yet to engage them in space

    thats a bit dull. Was hoping for something along the awesome lines of the maco etc.

    I don't recall the piece or power names, but here goes...

    It's a 3 piece ground set. The set consists of an armored environmental, a personal shield generators and a Cryo Pulsewave Rifle. The Cryp Pulsewave Rifle looks like an Anti-Proton rifle except it has a 2-tone (light/date) tone under low lighting on the rifle housing.

    The 2 Set bonus is a is a 20% chance proc (when taking any damage) for a +5% damage bonus and a Damage Charge which can stack up to 3(?).. The 3 Piece set is Violent Discharge which is a PBAoE which can affect up to 6 targets. The amount of damage it is does depends on the how many a stack Damage Charges your accumulated.

    I don't have a full set yet so I don't know how much damage Violent Discharge does.

    I want the suit that the NPC's on Nukara are wearing :(

    I have the set, and it is not like the MACO set with an outfit unlock.

    I was glad to work hard and play for a while and get whole set from the Tholian reward boxes... (Unlike the MACO Armor Tech which I'm still trying to get to drop for me.... And I'm only trying for MACO XI!)

    I think the set will be an important part of the puzzle to get through the Hard Interior mission repeatably; it seemed to provide a good deal of punch, and I was pleased when I critted a Tholian with the Compressed Cryo Launcher, and it vibrated, seemed to swell a bit, and then exploded. A great effect. : )

    if you have all 3 pieces and 150 lobi burning a hole in your pocket you can upgrade the tholian ground set to mk12...

    The Cryo Shotgun is going to have its look changed so it doesn't look like an antiproton rifle.

    Looking at the set visuals and the first though crossing my mind why does this set not have a plasma cutter as weapon?

    What I don't get is the loot table.

    I've got 5 Suit and 5 Shields but even though I do these missions like crazy all I get are shields and suits, never the guns. Other team members get only the guns and never the suits or shields. We can't trade with each other, we can't transfer them to an other of our toons, we can't swap them at a console for the missing piece, we can't turn them in for anything useful/valuable like Dilithium or Fleet Marks.

    Please do something about this. It's incredibly annoying.

    Are you sure about the 20% chance proc? I wore my set around for an entire 2 hour redshirt grind and didn't see my violent discharge button light up once from absorbed charges, able to be used. I'd heard elsewhere the chance was more like 2%, but even so I'd have expected it to occur at least once. Anyone have ideas where I'm going wrong?

    HAHA! It's a problem that exist from tribble test (and few times reported by myself), because Tholians didn't use (or it's not sorted as) energy damage...

    Systems:
    • Updated the Tholian Set:
      • Tholian Ground Set 2 piece bonus can now be charged up by "Environmental" energy sources as well as Energy Weapons.
        • This includes Radiation, Toxic, Cold and Fire damage.
      • Tholian Ground Set 2 piece bonus buff now improves all damage, instead of just energy weapons.
      • Increased the upgraded set's chances of applying a buff from 33% to 50%.

    The STFs have accolades that unlock costumes, the Tholain missions do not.
    The complete set is nice but its not better than the purple rewards you get on Nukara now.
    The lobi store offers an upgrade, the question here is why when the current set is enough for any mission on Nukara.
    Perhaps if they announce future harder missions that you would benefit by having the upgrade.

    I think Cryptic missed the boat on the upgraded MK XII set by not making the visual the FC/VOY EV suit. It's a no-brainer as the asset already exists (no additional development costs) and people would be buying Master keys like crazy to get enough Lobi to upgrade the set.
