Thank you for creating this channel for the community of ST:O. I just wanted to add my two cents on this whole thing:
Rules are good. They promote structure and order and limit chaos. Some see this as a dictatorship and that's their right. But to be realistic, all societies have rules, structure, discipline and penalties.
Drama has no place here in game. They should be dealt with swiftly.
Some people just seem to have a problem with rules and authority (I have dealt with this people daily both in the real world and in-game). Nothing is good enough and you never do it right. They always think they can do it better. I would like to see them make something successful like a fleet or channel.
I read something about quantity and quality. Many don't think you can have both. I do. Seems you have created it just like us.
Again, thanks for creating this channel. Although I am a member of the channel, I have no use for it. We usually have enough online at any given time to form an elite fleet STF run...
I really can't use the word, but someone tried to convince me that's what he meant. I didn't believe him!
If you're generally curious, type blue footed birds into google and it will bring up the name of the bird in question.
Unfortunately, this is the place I've been dragged down to.
When i saw you using that word, I mistook it for an impolite comment.
Certain players are "testing the limits", seeing how much they can get away with and I made the incorrect assumption you were one of them.
Sorry about that.
lol I understand but no I dont smoke crack;) Dont smoke at all... To be more accurate I have a split ACL not cracked. But split acl is to long! In fact I hate long words... Crack is more simple;)
Just have to say that this channel has made my STO experience much more enjoyable. Want to thank all the admins/operators for dealing with all the trolls/asshats in a timely manner.
The admins/operators are doing a great service to the STO community and IMHO, should be credited for their work.
/salute you guys for your hard work and contributions to the STO community.
whats with this "city language" of EliteSTF Channel? how does it work cuase i dont understand anything of. sorry, i was never good at foregn languages.
also, whenever i look at the EliteSTF channel (i have a seperate tab for it), its always completely blank, and im afriad to ask or say anything for fear of inadvertantly breaking some rule and getting kicked out.

City Language?
I don't understand the context.
Can you please clarify?
Don't worry, you won't be kicked for asking questions.
And unless you shatter a rule into pieces and tap dance on the broken parts in a fire, you won't be kicked for a first offence.
We usually warn a few times first, just to give the channel user in question the idea that they've crossed a line and to give them a chance to step back over it.
But what you have described is a minor, but known bug.
Sometimes (only once in my experience) you can't see anyone in the channel even though people are actively using it.
I'm already having enough trouble dealing with a major bug that needs to be fixed, I don't really notice the smaller ones.

Do you mean the chat abbreviations that are used? Don't worry if it's blank when you sign on. That happens to me frequently. It just means the room is quite for a moment.
Used it for quite a while to sign up for elite space runs. No problems.
Shortly after the introduction of the new Vault event, someone was posting to gather a team for the Vault. Somebody else came on and told the guy not to post for the Vault, this was the EliteSTF channel and vault groups weren't allowed to form here. He posted again, was told again that he couldn't post for the vault. He said something to the effect of "just watch me". I piped in with something to the effect of "yeah, don't let the chat TRIBBLE get you down". I was dropped from the channel.
I noticed a day or two later that rules had been posted for the channel. One of those rules said it was okay to post for the Vault.
A few days later I e-mailed whomever to be invited back into the channel. I was invited back, but muted. This causes a little problem because instead of just typing "xx" or something like it to be accepted into a group, I have to send a private tell. No problem, I'm just about finished with my grinding.
A couple of weeks later, I find I've been dropped from the channel again.
Not going to ask for a re-invite.

That's great, I'm really glad that you don't plan on asking for a re-invite because we don't want you back to the channel. You were rather insulting, so you got what you so richly deserved.
I had taken a break from moderating the channel and when I learned how bad it was getting, I came back to active duty.
Let's face it, you argued with and insulted Admins, that was not exactly a winning strategy to start with.
And to clarify, the rules now state only 2 teams at any given time.
When I issued the warning you referred to, the channel was overloaded with Vault Teams, hence why I was putting an end to them until a formal ruling was decided upon.

yes, thats what i mean, the abbreviations, (i was trying to make a joke about the language thing). is there some sort of key i can see?
i only want to know how to chat on there so i can get a good team to do things like CSE, where people just dont know wtf there doing and kill cubes, and IGE, where people ditch WAY too much. im only afraid of getting kicked cause i dont know the abbriviations, and if i just say "anyone want to do IGE?" or "how do these abbreviations work?", im gonna get in trouble. thats all
That's great, I'm really glad that you don't plan on asking for a re-invite because we don't want you back to the channel. You were rather insulting, so you got what you so richly deserved.
Really, how was I insulting? I just encouraged one guy not to give in to a chat TRIBBLE. The chat TRIBBLE in question was going on about how the guy couldn't (wasn't allowed) to form Vault groups there. The chat TRIBBLE was wrong. The rules of the channel as posted clearly stated that it was okay to form Vault groups.
If you are one of the admins, then we both agree that I don't fit into your group. If you feel I was insulting, and that the chat TRIBBLE was correct, I can live without that kind of childishness. If you are one of the chat TRIBBLE, we can both agree that I don't belong in your group, because I abhor chat TRIBBLE.

Are you talking to me? I said one thing to a fellow player - don't give in to the chat TRIBBLE - the TRIBBLE in question was clearly in the wrong according to the posted rules. There was only the one guy calling for a Vault team, and he was using the briefest of messages to do it. The only other thing I said in chat that night was to affirm that it was me, and not the guy trying to arrange the Vault run, that used the term chat TRIBBLE. He wasn't doing anything wrong, and I didn't want him to take the heat for it.
As to whether you want me back or not, I don't care. I just wanted to share with others how your channel "works". If you got bent out of shape for my encouraging another player not to give in when they were doing nothing wrong, there is nothing I can or will do about it. I'm too old for that kind of TRIBBLE.

I was wondering if the invite procedure has changed. I have sent 2 mails so far and cannot access the channel. Neither BrokenMirror or Tilarta comes up in the Social Search, so I'm not sure if my mails are going anywhere.
1. People keep spamming PvP challenges at inappropriate times (say, in the middle of an STF being swarmed by Borg).
2. The one and only time I set myself to publicly visible, the Gold spammer bots immediately latched onto me and would not stop, even when I went back to private mode.
So, yes, mailing me is pretty much all you can do, because you won't see me online due to Private Mode.
I'm not logging in as much as I did before, but I do drop by at least once a day, sometimes two or three times, so your invite will be handled within at least 24hours as an estimate.

Ok, seriously though... what's up?
Channel says we are not subscribed. Been down for a while, seeing others ask about it too in chat.
It seems to be fine.
I last used it 3 hours ago, so whatever happened must have been in the short time between then and the time of this posting.

I just saw your post and have decided to investigate the issue.
Operators and Admins are NOT ALLOWED to do this, because it's very hard, if not impossible, to unmute a player due to a chat channel bug.
Can you please tell me how you know this was the Operator who muted you?
