The benefit of getting 5 people to join the game is that now you have friends to play the game, everything else is just extra icing. That they got compensated for.

    Well said. :)

BECAUSE the demand for the Galaxy X was too great for Crytpic to miss the opportunity to place it in the C-Store. RAF did not lose anything, in fact, they made out for the better. They recieved an EXTRA 2000 CP or $25.

And Pre-Order people lost their exclusives because the demand was too great and Cryptic did nothing.

Actually they got an extra $50 on top of their $25 on top of their Holo Boff, Holo Trbble, and Gal-X

You freely admit you have lost nothing. What do you need compensation for then?

As for the Gal-X, many of those people were expected to wait until their 5 recruits had gotten through 30 days and resubbed. Since the promotion had barely run a month, that meant others would be able to obtain the item before those that had recruited, even though they had already earned it through work already. Thus, Cryptic compensated them so that they could have it immediately.

Unfortunately i have to disagree with you on that, the RAF people also lost nothing and they did not get their Galaxy X earlier, they still had to wait for the time to pass. :)

Where did they say that was the purpose, so they could have it immediately?

They did not say the purpose. They simply said they were doing it, but if I had to hazard a guess as to why, that would be it.

That does not change the fact that you have lost nothing, and thus have no reason to ask for something extra.

You'll note I did not say they lost anything. :)

And while they didn't immediately get the the Gal-X, once they had the Cryptic points they could've bought it immediately. I'm pretty sure they didn't have to wait the month to get the Cryptic points. :)

So, your reason was made up to fit your point? Nice.

    Your logic is illogical.

Pre-Order people didnt LOSE anything. They still retained the item(s). PEOPLE HAD TO PURCHASE THE ITEMS FROM THE C-STORE.

You made out on the deal as you didnt have to purchase the item.

Now if you want to be selfish.......

I was just comparing with the lost statement. And why should someone buy the Galaxy X who had already earned it for free ?

Btw, to get the Pre-Order items I had to take a leap of faith with the game and buy it before much of that actual game was in the wild and I had to pay list price whereas right now it can be bought much cheaper.

Let´s just agree no one lost anything. Let´s focus on the "where is the difference part". :)

No, my reason was inferred and given to you as a probable answer to your question.

You are different because your transaction was concluded. Their transaction had not yet been concluded.

Cryptic had no obligation to compensate either group, but they did to the second group presumably because that group's transaction was still in progress at the time of the rule change.

They didn't have to buy it. Cryptic gave them free money. They still got it for free. By giving them C-Store points instead of the ship immediately, they essentially gave people a choice between getting the ship up front (if it was that important) or getting some other free stuff and waiting it out.

If i could only find the dev responses to the reasoning behind the compensation. I´m still sure there was talk about people who undermined the intent of the referal program by buying more copies of the game for themselves and creating fake accounts, which is slightly mad i think. :)

If it was for the sole purpose of them getting it early, why were they given $50 worth of CP instead of $25 (the cost of the Gal-X)?

Presumably to compensate them for the fact they could not get it early, only when everyone else could. It's also possible the Gal X was going to cost that much, or be limited to one account when purchased. In the latter case, to give it to both accounts that come with the game, you'd need $50.

The bottom line is, their transaction was in progress at the time of the rule change. Your transaction had been concluded for some months before the rules changed.

    EDIT:

Or, and this might be out of left field, they gave them $50 to compensate for their exclusive going up on the C-Store.

The transaction was in progress? By this time, they were already going to have their friends in the game and as the Dev's pointed out, the true reward is friends in this game. The extra's were compensated for, so others should get the same treatment.

That would make much more sense to me if they had removed the Galaxy X from the referal program and made it c-store only, which they didn´t. Or it could imply that all those people participated in the ref program only to get the ship and wouldn´t have done so if they could have bought it from the store. If that were the case they had the wrong reasons and certainly did not deserve anything.

I know that for many, this topic is old and finished (in which case, they are free to ignore this thread), and I have tried to do this through contact with Cryptic, but unfortunately, they have no customer support and do not respond to any of my messages. And according to one of the Devs, this is where I should put it. I believe that like the RAF, those who got their exclusives put on the C-Store should get compensation.!

I think everyone’s missing the big pitcher here why did cryptic tell you to post it here and not just answer your question
How long have you been asking this question?

Yes, the true reward is friends in the game, but that was only part of what was promised.

They had not yet received their item although they had "paid." Their Galaxy X was not in their hands at the time the rules changed that anyone who paid in the C-store could have it.

I know that these people have better things to do then do answer every trivial question that comes by but it seems to be it would only take 2 sec to give you an answer wither you liked it or not you would have a definitive answer and that would be the end of it. The only reason I can think of to not answer you is it’s a touchy subject they are trying to avoid or they have already answer this and they don’t want to waste time doing so again.
