What happened to Ferenginar? I would LOVE to see it included in the game. The DEVS did an amazing job on Bajor. Ferenginar would be a perfect center of commerce. Perhaps even a featured series with a ruthless Daimon, a Ferengi enemy = pure AWESOMENESS!!

Some random, unavoidable occurances in sector space such as a hostile boarding party - having to repel invaders off your ship or an Undine infiltrator in your crew - like conducting an investigation. Random things always happen. Doesn't anyone watch the show?

If they are going to expand the universe, you have to include the Vidiians. Formidable ships, boarding claw. Good old fashioned fight for survival.

I didn't see this before I posted topics about my duty/bridge officer ideas, but here they are in short form, with a lot of other ideas. I labeled them big, moderate, and small in terms of the amount of work I expect that would go into the change. Since I have a lot here, I'll put asterisks next to the ones I feel most strongly about.

    Fairly big request:
*1. Craftable duty officers. I want to be able to customize their appearance, traits, race, and sex. One possibility are missions where duty officers are from planets where people request the ability to join Starfleet. There was an episode where a scientist stayed on with the Enterprise because her planet's governor shut down her research. Custom officers would be automatically bound to avoid the issue of offensive names and silly pictures. This would be nicer for nebula exploration than just serving as a supplies deliverer.

    Medium request:
*2. Growable duty officers. It would be more satisfying to be able to see one's favorite white officers graduate to green over time. It's frustrating to see a trusty white officer who did a lot of missions get killed randomly. At least the hope that the officer can someday be green and thus safe from instant death would be nice. It would also add to the feeling that these are people instead of consumable commodities. Duty officers that are grown into a new level would be automatically bound, to avoid having the same name with different qualities on the Exchange (although there are two different Vulcan women with the same name already... oops).

    Big request:
*3. Change the bridge officer system completely so that bridge officers are customizable and the system is streamlined. Right now, the only bridge officers that have significant value on the Exchange are purple officers. So, I suggest letting players create their own bridge officers (traits, race, sex, skills) up to and including the blue level. Purple level officers would have to be gotten the other ways -- through missions, C Store, assignments, Exchange, et cetera. However, the sex of the purple officers should be modifiable by the player.

    Small requests:
*4. Beachwear as an option in the Foundry, as well as the ability to use any faction's outfit (and, ideally, race) for Federation players and vice-versa. I need it so I can have a crew on leave not look silly wearing their uniforms on the beach. It's an important part of my plot. It would also fix the problem of traveling to Risa in the normal game and looking stupid wearing one's uniform on the beach. For that, I think a character should automatically change into beachwear when visiting Risa -- or at least be prompted. The ability to use any outfit (no matter the faction) in the Foundry so plots involving disguise and such (such as Deanna Troi's posing as a Romulan, or something simpler that doesn't involve racial change disguise) can be implemented. I want someone to be captured in my Foundry mission and forced to wear the opposing faction's outfit. It seems like that shouldn't be hard to implement.

    Moderate request:
    5. Change the bridge and duty officer system so that the characters feel more like people and less like commodities. Make them able to grow. If a person gets rid of them, come up with a random solution generator that says something like "Simbok requests a transfer due to _____". The ability to have them join the ship from missions would make them seem more real.

    Moderate request:
    6. More involvement in the interior of one's ship, including the ability to choose which people appear on the inside, aside from one's bridge officers. I'd like to be see duty officers I choose appear. That would make the customization of their appearance even more useful. It would also be fun to give orders while inside the ship, such as setting up shipboard duty officer missions.

    Small requests:
    7. Fix the issue where you plot a course and your tactical officer prompts you to warp into another place that appears along the way. When I plot a course to Beta Ursae, I didn't plot a course to the Delta Volanis Cluster. Also, make it possible to plot a course to any place that the character has visited before -- instead of having to manually warp/navigate each sector. Disable this for the Tour the Galaxy event, but please -- why do we have to manually navigate sectors? Aren't our helmspeople competent? I don't mind if the ship travels the normal way, but automate the tactical officer to warp from place to place.

    Big request:
8, Slow down the character leveling. The duty officer leveling system seems slow but the player character system is very fast. It seems like everyone's a vice admiral. After watching everything captains like Picard went through while still remaining at the captain level, being an admiral should be something very special, I think.

    Fairly big request:
    9. Consider implementing a wish list feature where players can specify what type of equipment they would like to see and not like to see from random drops, such as from PvE. For instance, if a player already has a good engine, then they might be hoping for a tactical console. So, they could put check tactical console in their wish list. It won't guarantee they'll get one, but it will increase the odds. Similarly, a player could put "ship weapon type: phaser" on their wish list and cross off "ship weapon type: disruptor" so they can focus on a specific type of weapon for their ship -- to complement consoles that do that type of damage.

    Small/Moderate request:
*10. Make scanning for samples at Starfleet Academy less annoying. I don't mind a challenge, but the level of randomness is so high than it becomes annoying quickly. I got 74 samples one day and only like 52 the new time. It's annoying to have the anomalies disappear over and over again, it's annoying to have one's cadet shot to death with a single shot, and it's annoying to not have any idea where or not to use multiphasic scanning or not. Going through the effort of finding a particle that doesn't immediately dissipate and then scanning only to have it be destroyed randomly -- it's annoying.

    Moderate request:
*11. More balance between the sexes in terms of attractiveness and add more customization to the character appearance tool. Right now we have a lot of mechanized, boorish, hyper-masculine males and exaggerated femininity for women. Female characters can have a seductive pose and a feminine pose. Even at the lowest setting their TRIBBLE are prominent and they have a breast slider. They have the ability to wear heavy makeup and have skimpy clothing for the Orions. It's hard to make a male character that doesn't look unpleasant or at least haggard. Why not give them the ability to smile instead of scowl? Fix the hip size tool so it doesn't make them look like an elderly woman if you want them to not have a flat butt. Why not allow a player to customize the size of the posterior by itself, without the hips? I'd also like to see the ability to adjust the size of pectoral muscles without making the waist wider. Please give males a third "smooth/youthful" complexion option that doesn't include haggard deep wrinkles and dark beard stubble like the others. Put in the ability to make eyeballs wider or narrow (so not all Orion men have very narrow eyes). Allow upper cheeks to be re-sized.

    Moderate request:
*12. Make Deltans a playable race, and enable Deltan bridge officers. I'd like seductive male Deltans as a complement in the game to seductive Orion women. Some of us just aren't into women in skimpy clothing, and we can't put natives from Risa on our bridge. Oh, that reminds me... you may want to fix the shading on the male natives on Risa so their necks aren't a different color than the skin below. It looks jarring.

    Big request:
    13. Complex diplomacy as an option over fighting. One thing I liked about a D&D game I played is that a large battle was avoidable with delicate diplomacy. Maybe there are episodes already like this, but it often feels like enemies are placed like mannequins ("speed bumps") for the inevitable fight. Picard and his crew didn't even want to kill the crystalline entity!

Two things I'd like to catch up on, one from the TV series and one from earlier in the game.

    1) Ba'el, from the TNG two-parter "Birthright."

    2) A follow-up on Divide et Impera. I understand, from the featured article on Massively, that the Foundry Mission Rema Donna does that nicely, and perhaps that can be adapted to the official game.

As these are both Romulan-related matters, perhaps they can be done back to back -- or even involve Ba'el in the follow-up against the Undine imposter.

In the present I would just like more content like missions and such things. For midterm goals I would like to be able to interat with my bridge officers on my bridge, and actually be able to use my ship interior for something other than looking good, and it is looking good. For a long term content I would be looking for is more character development, our captains are these one dimesional machines that just fly around and solve problems, and kill things our captains have no personal lives. I would like missions where our captains could lets say escort a diplomat or something. And at the end of the mission we could decide whether or not to start a personal relationship with this person. This could lead to another set of mission which develops the character of our captains through the choices are captains make. We could use are ship interiors for dates in this personal relationship. I know this would require the mission to be designed for each specific captain. But I would like to see more character development in our captains in the future. With these new mission it could grant certain passive abilities, and small rewards.;)

    ===Short

    >Ability to turn off certain UI elements.
My FPS is down the crapper due to my apparent "old" computer. I'd love to be able to turn off certain UI elements at certain times, while leaving others on (for example, being able to access the exchange with only the exchange and my inventory showing, nothing else)

    >Chat flood limits.
This would get rid of that stupid paysite TRIBBLE.

    >Better chat profanity filter.
No offence, but why is "damn" even blocked? This is laughable to me. You could add a "lite" and "normal" version of the filter, or perhaps, allow each user to filter words of their own choice. Seeing a screen full of the F word is not my idea of fun gaming, nor is seeing that every time I use the word "damn" that I come off sounding like I'm swearing.

    ===Mid

    >Better way to access the Exchange for people like me with low frame rate.
Easily done by adding nooks and crevices with consoles that can access said exchange. The exchange at ESD, or in any place where the Exchange is beside a Bank/Mail without a separating wall just kills my FPS.

    >In-game search options
For example, you could do a search of ESD for "Mission Givers" and only those icons would show, or, do a letter-by-letter search (with a text box I mean) for people with a certain name, and their icons would get highlighted, etc

    >More Klingon Episodes
KDF content seems to be lacking from the research I've done and complaint's I've heard. Add more.

    ===Long

    >Playable Romulans and Cardassians
As it says on the tin.

    >More unique stuff when picking races.
For example, why is everyone running around using Bat'leths. Limit those to Klingons. Limit Lirpa's to only Vulcans. Sure not every race has it's own melee weapon, but some do, and others you can make it up. In addition unique weapons, for example, limiting the "stun" ability to use only for federation characters, or Energy Whips you can give to Ferengi BOFFs and Captains. Make being a particular race unique, beyond "5% more of this, and 10% more of that"

    >More foundry options
Mostly, branching missions. I for one would like to make a Kobayashi Maru scenario where you can explore many different tactics, each of which would play out differently.

    Short:

Everything in the game keeps rolling along when I'm logged off. Why not my transwarp cooldown period? Is that supposed to happen?

    Mid:

Right now, the department head listing has a First Officer, Engineering, Operations, Science, Medical, Tactical and Security. Every ship, theoretically, has all of these departments, so why does one of the BOffs have to pull double-duty because there aren't enough BOff slots? If the player has an empty slot, the system should promote their senior DOff in that field to that position. Of course Cryptic could add a BOff slot... lol, riiiiight. ;)

    Long:

Add more rooms and fuctionality to the existing rooms in the ship layout. Some of us like the idea of having a 'real world' background for our avatars to live in, that conform to the Star Trek we've become accustomed to:

*Armory: You should have an armorer who would function as an away team equipment vendor. The armory itself should be located adjecent to the transporter room and Hanger. This isn't always practical for a ship of 50, but if the player is flying a cruiser, for example, it makes great sense. Keep the vendors on the planets/starbases as well (for those who want to restock before a fleet action or STF, but are not on their ship at the time.) Also, the player could have them start weapons' modification assignments from here.

*Brig/Security Office: There should be a brig with individual cells. If the player have a prisoner on their ship, they should show up. If not, it'll be empty. Either way, we've seen brigs on most ships in Star Trek over the years, so why leave it out? You could also make this a central location where the player could find a security officer to begin shipboard 'military' assignments.

*Sickbay: The current layout is great, but there should be a Chief Medical Officer stationed there. Also, if the player has a DOff listed as being in Sickbay, they should be shown laying in one of the biobeds. If not, they'll be empty. You could also make this a central location where the player could find a doctor/nurse/medic to begin shipboard 'medical' assignments.

Hangar Deck: Big room. Stock with 2 standard shuttles and specialty shuttles/runabouts the player may have purchased. Long, long-term: mabye an accessway to the Aquarias (for Odyssey TAC), but that's a serious back-burner.

Astrometrics Lab: Dark room, with lots of consoles and in the center, a big holo-display of the galaxy. Not necessarily a functional room, but it looks good and gives the player's crew the appearance of doing something besides wandering the halls. You could make this a central location where the player could find a scientist to begin shipboard 'exploration' or 'science' assignments.

Shield/Deflector Control: Not showcased in most of the series, but the same argument as above. Having a crew just walk back and forth in the hallways is pretty uninspired.

Engineering: It may be a little much, but I can't imagine that the Main Engineering space on a cruiser, would be the same size and configuration (especially size) as a Defiant sized escort. A different map would be a nice change for this room. Some Jeffries tube accesses and maybe an office for the Chief Engineer. Here's an idea the bean-counters at Cryptic would like... customize, like the bridge layout? ;) You could also make this a central location where the player could find an engineer/technician to begin shipboard 'engineering' assignments.

Holodeck: Not sure how it would be used at the moment, but most of the modern ships have them, so why not include it to add some flare? Wait!!! A target practice mini-game!?! The player could use it to polish their marksmanship skills for ground missions. How about a precision flight mini-game? Remember "Night of the Comet"? I wish I'd had some flight experience before the four times I went through that.

Crew Lounge: Looks Great! Why is no one ever eating, socializing, or sitting for that matter. Maybe add a few more trophy and/or customization options. There's an option to invite people to see the player's ship... and they all look alike! Also, you could make this a central location where the player could find a bartender/chef/entertainer for their assignments. How about this? The player walks into the crew lounge, and an Ensign asks them if they would let her participate in the Anbo-Jyuistu tournament? Interactive prompting for a 'Development' assignment? Okay... at least have an 'interact' icon over their head.

Personal Quarters: Way too large! They seem larger than the conference room where the player meets dignitaries during first contact missions, and there are 10 NPCs in there. Also, the player should have an option to change between purchased outfits in this location.

Conference Room: This should be a room on the ship, since the player uses it during missions.

Cargo Bay: Big room. Stock with crates, skiffs, and loaders. You could station the quartermasters and traders here, and start trade missions from this location.

Just a few thoughts. Probably been addressed before, but still some good ideas.

I don't know what area these come in,but here is what i would like to see added to the game.
More ship weapon slots on all ships, both front and back.
An easier way to combat the borg would be nice. You might remember Captain katherine janeway of the USS Voyager, destroyed a borg ship with a few transphasic torpedoes. episode was end game after the ship came out of Transwarp.A special cannon or Torpedo to easily take out a borg would be nice.
The Klingon Bortasqu ships. The auto distruptor cannon.Scrap the cool down feature on that, and allow continues use of it.
When doing the PvE missions, how about the rewards always being equal to your rank and when you get higher too.
Vice admiral/lieutenant general. The rewards always being X11 pick up rewards as an example.
The satelite Turrets. We currently can only drop out one at a time. How about allowing at least 6 to 8 to be dropped out at a time,to help us in combat situations.

I want to put my two cents in just a second, this game is wonderful in so many ways. I do believe though it could be improved further and would make total sense to add multiple factions, for instance a romulan side players could choose from right out the gate along with three or four more species even. This would make it much more interesting and immersible and attract the more hardcore gamer crowd looking for something that is rarely done. I have been giving it some thought and feel that this would take some serious re-fashioning of the game but ultimately would be beneficial and add life to the games expectancy a great deal. I feel that gaming needs a fresh perspective and that larger additions like this is what the industry needs. A higher lvl cap is definitely needed to and maybe just a slight grind to make it more enticing for end game content. Thank you for your time, sincerely, one cool ****!

Ok I'm rather new to STO, however I'm completely hoooked. I came over as a F2P and it took all of a week to upgrade to Gold. Thank you Cryptic for an awesome game! Not sure which are short, mid, or long term, but here's my wishlist nonetheless...

As previously stated.. I'd like my interior to be much more functional. Interaction with Bof's and even Doff's would be awesome.

Interiors scaled and unique for their perspective ships. The Ready Room, quarters, and engine rooms are all generic. Give me something exciting to explore when I get my new ship.

Some missions that involve your interior would be nice as well.. there don't seem to be very many diplomatic or scientific missions, add some that utilize the ships interior.

Definatly like the idea of growable doff's. perhaps even Bof's\

And lastly give me additional slots for Boff's stations. Why spend all the BoP's if I can only use the first or second slot. I understand you can't have all stations at cmdr, but on the higher end ships.. at least let me utilize a few more of my Bof skills...

And again... THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR AN INCREDIBLY AWESOME GAME!!!

This is more of a 'mid' kinda thing I'd like to see. Kudos btw for the dilithium mini game - can't WAIT to try it.

I've notice in the ship interior lounge that there is a poker table in the far corner. Will we ever get a Poker/3D Chess/Fizbin type mini game to go WITH that table. I think that would really take off and get peeps more involved in 'beaming' over to check out other players interiors and trophies. Could really add to the community of the game in ways never dreamed.

Long term want = I WANT ROMULAN SHIPS!!! Waaaaaaay more than the silly silverfish style Cardie ones. Hell, I'd even go for a Ferengi Marauder with ALL Universal Consoles (as they kinda buy all there tech, this seems to make sense to me).

Keep up the good work guys.

    Short:
deleted what i wrote since i read the black texture topic, the only other thing is fix the physics or whatever you're using to emulate them for the floaty panels on orion and fashion sets...they're freaking horrible, visit the bridge and there's an orion female sitting down it makes her look like she has the galaxy's worst case of flatulence

    Mid:
Customize crew uniforms, especially since you decided captains should spend more time there, not just boff's, the whole crew. not per individual mind, just 3 presets by class. sci, eng, tac.

    Long:
Make crafting useful allow modifications to existing gear.
Requires crafting rank equal to the gear you want to modify, adds a set modifier to the gear or increases a modifier the gear already has. Chance of failure which will destroy the gear and consume all materials used.
Ex: hybrid weapon types, base weapon determines console needed, extra proc type added to base type.
consoles could have a small increase to their base stats, or an additional ability like power bonus.

Allow ship refits (Expensive!!!) require $$$ and materials, also takes time, 20+ hours or more would be fair since you are refiting a ship.
options for refit, console slot, console universal, warp core upgrade, subsystem power upgrade (individual subsystem per refit), armor upgrade, structural reinforcement, etc.

romulan and dominion factions added, not as freaking feds or klingon factions but as their own factions, as they should be.

universe expanded, all these other races need quadrants. they have their own empires.

DirectX 11 tessellation added, one main thiing that would help you with is the 'more detailed models' laments. you wouldn't have to create more detailed models, just a texture the engine can tessellate. and on the subject of textures...you have a community here, i've read the post where 'we ain't gonna make a high rez texture pack' why not seek volunteers? seriously...why didn't you ever ask the community? all you'd have to do is supply the UV maps, which is a simple batch job you could run on an old clunker machine until it finishes. and now, don't try to tell me it's more complicated than that, it isn't unless you're all first year programmers who still have to peek at books. you aren't.

QA a lot more on what you release. listen the the tribblers, that's supposed to be what they're there for eh?

    Short Term

-Fix the Pathing on Away Team members so I can do "Cage a Fire" with My team and not Pray I get lucky that even 1 of them is with me when I get to the boss.

    Mid Term

    Log term

-Customizable Ship interiors with at least 3 options on Engine Room for Small, Medium, and Large ships.
-Fully customizable Ready Room, as my Captain's main place to hang out when not on the Bridge it should have a selection of Decor, including Desks, Chairs, Carpeting, Fish tanks etc.

-More Featured Episodes hopefully with multiple Paths through it. Think a bit like how the Wing Commander Series had different paths through the games mission set if you failed or succeeded in a previous mission. So if you fail a mission you go through a path that can allow you to get back on the winning track , or keep failing and try to get to the last mission where you have to contain the threat rather than vanquishing it.

The ability to get Bridge Officer's trained by other Players without having to trade them. This would allow C-Store Boffs to be trained by other players.

The ability to promote your Bridge Officer's to Captain and place them in Command of one of the other ships you own and then assign them missions like you do Duty Officers. Would give people motivation to keep all their ships updated instead of just one or two. Maybe be able to bring them along with you on Missions as an NPC Ship.

Along these lines , I'd like to be able to have my Engineering team be able to Retrofit my older ships to be usable at my current rank. Should be able to be done by applying the same tech as Shuttles use to always be relevantly leveled. Just need to be able to add a few console slots , and upgrade the Bridge Stations and you'd have another usable ship to mess around with.

-Cryptic , if you can get the rights to it, would be awesome to have Simon and Schuster's Star Trek interactive Encyclopedia accessible in Game from an LCARS terminal in your Capt's ready room. (Not realistic, I know but one can dream)

be able to fire on two ships at a time, to be able to wear body armour but it dose not show that im wearing it like a toggle in the options menu
this one is a bit over the top but can there be more upgrades for the nova class

Note to isaac13311: You can go to your characters equipment menu, right click on your armor, and "Disable visuals. you will now have all the bonus of wearing armor without the horrible look.

    Short Term:
#1: Better control of away teams, Get them to hold there position were i told them to even when i tell them to focus on a target! instead of running wild
#2: Usable furniture in ship interiors, chairs beds, benches, working replicators.
    #3: More RP useful emotes.

    Mid Term:
#1: The ability to customize a standardized crew uniform.
#2: Redone ship interiors have shorter ceilings and narrower halls for a more realistic and accurate reflection on the TV series.
#3: Add multiplayer minigames to ten forward in ship interiors, examples, Poker, Chess, Checkers, 3D Chess, Billiards, AKA Pool.

    Long Term:
#1: Better ship weapon effects, thin out the beams, there a bit to wide, shuttle beam weapons should be MUCH thinner, more complex effects for arrays firing example being from Next Gen, where the array charges from both ends of the array and fires.
#2: Multiple weapon effect points across the ship, that will work reactively to your, and your enemy ship postions to reduce weapons fire clipping while giving a better visual appeal.
#3: Ability to better customize ship interiors, examples, Colors, Furniture & Position, Variants for some rooms like main engineering and other key locations other then the bridge.
#4: Slide bar for energy weapons that allow you to change there rate of fire/beam duration, slower ROF for cannons result in stronger accurate hits at lower ROF, beam duration effects accuracy and strength, longer lasting less accurate on faster targets but more damage, shorter duration more chances to hit but with less damage.
#5: Shield frequencys, allow us to impute a number (max 3 digits) and allow us to change weapons frequencys, add a margin of error, closer we are to there frequency the more damage we cut past there shields.

Dominion faction play instead of Romulan with playable Jem'Hadar Vorta Cardassian Breen and other groups like that.
    Mid term- Up level cap
(Klingon play)Random Klingon raids on federation ships and transports similar to doff and similar rewards assainments but players raid and same with fed outposts
Short term- More Doffs and assignments like political assassination by Klingon and other raids

Very good idea. They wouldn't even need to be promoted to captain. After all, we get ships as Lieutenants. And, they don't necessarily need to be retrofitted to be at our current level. They could be squishier. But, I really like this idea to give the extra bridge officers more of a role and especially to make the old ships useful. Some of us never do missions with other people, and it could be nice to have our bridge officers and older ships accompany us in lieu of other people.
I like the idea of adding tessellation. AMD has gotten their cards up to Nvidia's in terms of tessellation performance and it can be a cheap (in terms of video card overhead) way to add a lot of detail.

Even without tessellation, though, it seems to me that it should be pretty easy to add more customization controls for character modeling -- like the ability to resize upper jaw/cheeks, the ability to resize the posterior without changing the size of the hips (a feature that is really needed), the ability to change the shape of eyes between narrow and round, and the ability to change a mouth to a mild smile rather than a grimace. I know male characters can smile. I've seen natives on Risa do it on occasion. If Orion women don't always grimace, why do all the men have to? The only trouble with general smiling is the issue that happens in the Sims where smiling characters, when the game makes them smile as an emote, tend to have mouths that are stretched too high at the corners. The current tools are nice, but a few extra adjustment options would really help. Another problem is the "turkey neck" syndrome. There doesn't seem to be any way to reduce the amount of flesh that connects the lower jaw to the neck, which causes an unsightly bulge. My main character, Mercuran, is a good example of the problem. And, please add in a smooth/youthful skin complexion for men, one that doesn't have dark beard stubble or dark-colored eyebrows even when eyebrows are turned off. It makes for unrealistic blond and red-haired characters to have all that dark stubble and dark eyebrow shading and the wrinkles around the eyes and such make the characters look old.

Here's a summary of all the appearance improvements I'd like to see.

Someone mentioned improving the Aegis set. One thing that I would like to see is the ability to craft custom equipment, where the player can assign the qualities. For instance, I have both an Aegis and a Jem'Hadar deflector and my science ship benefits from qualities that both have, but there are qualities that both have that I could live without. For instance, the Jem'Hadar deflector has a boost to both graviton and countermeasure. I don't use countermeasure on my ship. It's a graviton build, and it's pretty common for people to focus on one or the other because of limited allocation points. It would be nice to have the better shielding power of the Aegis coupled with the graviton boost of the Jem'Hadar and the crew death resistance boost. In other words, if we could custom craft equipment to suit our goals/builds it would be cool.

Here's an easy one, when transitioning to the bridge I would like to see my Captain sitting in his command chair rather than beaming onto some part of the bridge. It's were he should be after all!

What about left-handed characters who would be holding their phaser or rifle in their left hand? Do you have something against Southpaws? You allow a left-handed weapon when dual pistols are equipped so there's apparently no issue with Ambidexterity.

    Short:
Make ship interiors more interactive, like the replicators etc
Fix crew pathing in ship interiors, keep crew out of CPTs quarters etc

    Mid:
More involved storylines where choices change the aspect of the mission
Return the old ship beam effects, they looked better

    Long:
More Lifetime perks, feels like I wasted $300
    Better Fleet Actions and STFs
Finish the Iconian story, wanna fight them badly.

Short: Allow all varieties of Tactical Escort (regular, Tac Escort Refit, and Tac Escort Retrofit) to equip multiple instances of the Quad Phaser Cannon item. I run a Tac Escort Retrofit, and I want to be able to run three Quad Cannons up front along with my Quantum Torpedo Launcher. :)

Medium: More Crew Interaction in your Ship Interiors. The DOff interaction is good, but I'd like to see crew members standing around at varying points of the ship, talking about your past missions.

Long 1: Create "Personality AI" settings you can apply to your BOffs, enabling new dialogue from each one, including the possibility for Romance Arcs, both between individual BOffs and between Me and a BOff.

Long 2: Tweak Transphasic Torpedoes a bit, they are way too underpowered as is compared to what I think of with Transphasics.

I'm less concerned with this, than occasionally seeing them standing on consoles, jumping off platforms, or walking (or even dancing) along railings.

While I'm not much interested in a romantic story arc, I wouldn't really object to it either.

But it would be nice to see BOff dialogue and expressions adjustable according to personality. Even if it was only adjusted according to the species and normal Stance (in the costume editor) with no further interaction from the player, it would be cool.

But I can see where it would take a lot of work -- especially on Foundry authors -- and I'd be (pleasantly) surprised to see something like that show up this year.

I love Star Trek its my favorite movies, TV, Video games, and past time i would love if cryptic would add these changes to STO.

    Short Term:
Speed up the into the HIve STF i really want to meet the Queen and make her like the Queen we all know and not some soft spoken jabber jaws like Rebecca Simons is. She should have an attrative personallity like the ones that Picard and Janeway faced, heck make her crack a joke or witty comment.

Give more CP for stipend, i paid 300 dollars for STO fun i think i should be rewarded for loyalty not only to Cryptics game but to the franchise as a whole. and on a side note make the orion bikini avaible for the Federation officers and boffs. Why should the klingons have all the glory and eye candy. If you are gonna do this make it standard and not the C Store please. Its already free on the other side.

Finally, put some Foundry missions like the Crossing into a Featured Episode Series, if your out of ideas Cryptic its okay the Star Trek Community and STO fans can help out and you never know with there content and your assets it could be a real cool marrage between players and devs.

    Medium:
Do more with the effects for ship customization, such as transporter sounds why should all the ships have the same Voyager effect. Even the ENT E of First Contact had a different effect and sound and Voyager wasn't even back from the Delta yet. I want the original TNG transporter look and sound. Its the coolest out of the series. The weapons sould be more customizable in battle such as the yeild, you can adjust depend on your needs as shown in ST ENT the Expanse and there photonic torpedoes plus warp sound and not make it all TNGish have the option of having a smooth warp sound like Voyager or the NX-01 Enterprise.

Rotaition of sheilds and weapons to the players wishes. Instead of an ablilty to call up the effect have the player do it themselves such as sheild frequency and rotating sheild modulation plus phaser res frequencys too. Also have the person with the same frequency torps cut through the sheilds like in ST Generations. Have the abilty also the for engineers to make a Static Warp Shell as like a sheild eqivelent to the Voyager armor on the Intrepid VA.

More bad guys and make them more cunning, bring back the Fekl'iri for the Feds and the Suliban. Truely make the Suliban a merc group that works for the Iconians in the 2nd Temporal Cold War. (btw great idea for a Featured Series). The Fek iri should be also introduced as an enemy of the Federation too i always wanted to travel into there dark caves as a Feddy and learn Klingon Lore through the Fedearation's eyes.

Long Term or Medium Term (either one)

Have the Fed players visit Klingon planets and vise versa for the Klingons. You devs cliam how you revamp Qonos but for hardcore Feddys like me i want to see in my stuff with my only toon and one and only crew. Same with the Klingons to make it fair and we already have mingling in Dronza Station and the Deferi invasion, and the mining mission. Plus on another note END THE WAR, i like mingling with the other side and see where they live and such Same goes for the Romulans when you make a faction for them later on.

Get rid of Sector blocks and make the Galaxy more like in real life and add more planets such as Veridian III and have the crashed Enterprise D memorial there. Have the planet where Tasha lived. Make Cardassia accessable too i want to see a Federation ally other than just Vulcan and Defera. Plus make Trill, Ferenganar, and Orion (espically make that accessable to all factions). Make a Nuetral zone, what Star Trek game or movie doesn't have a nuetral zone in the 25 Century. Would it kill you to make a Dyson Sphere too? lol

Finally expand the ST Enterprise retro stuff. I would love to have a authentic phase pistol from 22nd Century and the rifle and MACO uniform. For the good of every ST ENT fan make a Shuttle pod. and have the ability to customize the bridge canon style depending your tastes as which series you like better and the engineering deck and have your highest engineering officer be your chief engineer and have him work down there like Geordi with cutscenes for both. plus have the different labs usasable for ship ops instead of empty NPC space

The new interior functionality is a nice improvement, but it has some big "suspension of disbelief" issues, and some other flaws.

The easiest thing to start with is for the ship's crew (the people who mill around, and the people occupying the stations) should be drawn from the current duty officer roster. I have tailored the duty officers on my ship to be mostly one race, for flavor reasons (the majority of my crew are Deltans). It makes no sense for so many humans and races that aren't even in my roster (besides maybe one) to be everywhere milling around. There isn't a single Deltan man appearing inside my ship, even though I have probably 75 or more in my duty roster.

The other thing someone mentioned is the ability to make a standard uniform for the people appearing on the ship. I think that's a very important suggestion. Also, what would be even better is the ability to apply specific custom uniforms to specific personnel roles -- not only the specific people (like the chef and the counselor) but the generic milling people as well.

It would be very nice to have one's duty officers have a physical presence. It would make them much less like commodities and would give players the ability to have more flavor -- especially if my idea of customizable/craftable duty officers would be implemented. Having control over the flavor of the ship (the races represented, and such) would be a big improvement in my book.

The easiest way to implement it is for the player to have to make the effort to do the customization. That way, the default way things are set up now could be OK for those who don't want to make the effort and then Cryptic's staff won't have to create custom models/clothing for every race and sex.

Another thing that really would improve things is for dummy doors (doors one can't open) to be removed from the interior of the ship. Captains should be able to open any door.

I felt insignificant when roaming both faction's ships. Maybe some reactions from the crew would be good, even subtle ones.

Site to site transport throughout the ship would be an improvement.

As for the interactivity/romance angle, I can see this being a source of controversy as it was with Star Wars Old Republic. If romance is put into the game, it would best be done in a neutral player-initiated and player-controlled way rather than being heterosexual-only. Really, though, I don't know how this can be done if it's not done with the Foundry, with specific details given to the player about the tone/content. That way, players could choose to go there or not. But, if various people on one's ship start flirting, it could become pretty obnoxious. TRIBBLE players, for instance, might not like having only women hit on them and I am sure most hetero male players are less than keen on the idea of male crewman flirting with them. It was great to see a man hit on my male character at Quark's during the Bajoran episode, and I appreciate the way the developers made it random (the first time I played it it was a woman). It was unexpected and amusing. However, it was disappointing to be forced to turn them down.

I suppose there could be an option in the settings that says "my character is interested in" and have male, female, both, and none as options. The default would be "none" so players would have to manually enable romance. That seems to be a pretty non-controversial way to handle things. But, I doubt we'll see STO go this route. I do hope we'll see some more alluring clothing and model customization options for men, particularly Orion men, to balance things out with the women more. Form-fitting swimming briefs might be good. We could have a KDF Risa counterpart with non-brutish Orion men (and some ladies, of course, in various spots) on the beach. : )

I don't mind if the ship travels the normal way, but automate the tactical officer to warp from place to place.

no kidding. a WoW toon can fly from Stormwind to the Eastern plaguelands unaided but you can't pilot a Starship from ESD to K-7 without getting involved. I guess Gryphons are smarter than Conn officers

8, Slow down the character leveling. The duty officer leveling system seems slow but the player character system is very fast. It seems like everyone's a vice admiral. After watching everything captains like Picard went through while still remaining at the captain level, being an admiral should be something very special, I think.

How many Boffs do you have? when you hit captain you should have 8-9 IRRC more than enough to have a dept head. and STO takes it too far. a US Navy Cruiser has 5, Combat Systems, Operations, Engineering, Supply and when embarked, Air.
Um, you can change uniforms on the fly. why would i want to have to go to quarters to change? I really don't think a strip-show cut scene is appropriate.
