If you are looking for an amazing fleet with fun, knowledgeable, involved, helpful, and clever members... well then look no further before you checkout the Lotus Fleet.
One of the reasons that this is an exclusive fleet is that you must go through Starfleet Academy, and PASS your classes to be eligible to join. Some of you may be thinking, hey that sounds like too much work... well... are you Star Trek fans or not???? Many can complete this in a manner of weeks... depending on their level of commitment and available time.
One of the advantages in this fleet is that members must WORK, LEARN, THINK, and TEST their skills and knowledge just to become a member. As a result, we have a fleet of very dedicated and involved members who each play a role in the fleet: based on their interests and initiative.
i.e. We don't have just a huge number of uninvolved members that come and go; instead we have a core of involved Lotus Fleet members that are welcoming and involved!
For example, we go on fleet episodes and missions together (using TeamSpeak3 to communicate), craft specific items, members are involved in creating some great role playing stories: we hold a rank and a particular position on a specific ship involved in episodic missions that are better than some published novels out there, weekly meetings, etc... and a collection of different social groups and other game related activities that occur.
My name is Rear Admiral Jureth and I am the new Senior Retention and Recruitment Officer for Lotus Fleet. If you've looked at us before you may have noticed that I was once posting as both the CO and XO of our Command Division. I held both those posts and had to take some time away but have returned and wanted to serve Lotus Fleet in some capacity so I have taken on this new position.
We've made some changes around the Fleet recently the most prominent being the retirement of Fleet Admiral Kheren, and the promotion of Admiral Evshell to the Fleet Admiral Post. Fleet Admiral Evshell continues the tradition of community and gaming that is Lotus Fleet and we would love for you to join us in these endeavors.
To that end there have been some changes to our fleet entry rules. Our version of Starfleet Academy is no longer required for membership in our STO Fleet. It is purely optional, and you can join us in game without partaking in the Academy. You can register on our site, fill out a new user form and select the level of participation that you wish to have, though the Academy is still a requirement if you wish to volunteer for one of the fleet positions. That said I can say from personal experience that the Academy is really a phenomenal, fun Star Trek experience. It will test your knowledge of Trek and possibly even impart some new knowledge.
So, if you'd like to join a fleet of Star Trek fans, gamers, and all around good folks I'd love for you to look us up at www.lotusfleet.org. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me either in game or on the website.
Take care, and we will see you in game and around the Fleet.

Lotus Fleet
Lotus Fleet is engaging Q for this year's STO anniversary event! 5 years is quite a milestone for any MMO and we at Lotus Fleet are pleased to say we've been around for the entirety. As has been previously mentioned we are not as large as some fleets but we are a tight nit group that has a love for STO and Star Trek in general. Our starbase facilities are progressing nicely and we'd love to have anyone that wants a friendly gaming environment.
If you're interested in role playing our play by post RP is in full swing with the USS Horizon and USS Phoenix coming together to colonize and explore an unknown section of space. What will they find on their journey? Only time will tell!
If you're interest is piqued please drop by our site or find us in game, and enjoy the anniversary event!
We are presenting our first issue of our Fleet Newsletter for 2015: issue #10.
So what will you see this time around? With the contributions of our fleet members in combination with the effort and creativity of our Newsletter editor, here are this issues offerings.
For those that enjoy making a real contribution to a fleet, in addition to RP and STO, there are site positions in the Lotus Fleet available for current and new members to apply.
In the Command Division we are in need of someone with graphic skills and experience to become our Media Developer.
We also need Writers and contributors for our ongoing Fleet Newsletter.
In the Operations Division we could us an RP Assistant, an RP Recruiter, and additional Event Planners.
In the Academy, we could use several Academy Professors, such as Professors of Tactical & Security, Science, Medicine, and Operations.
So... if you are a connoisseur of Star Trek related activities, conversations, RP, etc... then you may very well find a home in the Lotus Fleet.
If you are looking for an amazing fleet with fun, knowledgeable, involved, helpful, and clever members... well then look no further before you checkout the Lotus Fleet.
One of the reasons that this is an exclusive fleet is that initially everyone had to go through Starfleet Academy, and PASS classes to be eligible to join. Some of you may be thinking, hey that sounds like too much work... well... are you Star Trek fans or not????
In the past year however, we modified this requirement to allow casual members to join under a different path. In the New User Form you have the option of different levels of commitment. Now you have the option to:
Join Fleet and Attend Academy: You will be a full member with all benefits including: Lieutenant J.G. starting rank, addition to our STO roster, access to our RP, and the ability to apply for a position within the Fleet.
Join Fleet ONLY: You will be assigned the Ensign starting rank, added to our STO roster, and have access to our RP. You would not be promoted until completion of the Academy.
Attend Academy ONLY: This allows you to go through our Lotus Fleet Academy and earn a degree. Selecting this option denotes that you do not wish to be a member of Lotus Fleet, and will not be added to our STO roster. Upon graduation, you will be set to the rank of "Acting Ensign".
AFTER you have filled out and submitted the New User Form:
If you have chosen one of the options to Join the Fleet, and you play STO, please post in this thread to have yourself added to the in-game roster: http://lotusfleet.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=17
One of the advantages in this fleet is that full-fledged members must WORK, LEARN, THINK, and TEST their skills and knowledge just to earn this position. As a result, we have a fleet of very dedicated and involved members who each play a role in the fleet: based on their interests and initiative. We don't have just a huge number of uninvolved members that come and go; instead we have a core of involved Lotus Fleet members that are welcoming and involved!
Since we are not a LARGE fleet filled with anonymous members, we like to interact with our members in a variety of activities. For example, we go on fleet episodes and missions together (using TeamSpeak3 to communicate), craft specific items, members are involved in creating some great role playing stories: we hold a rank and a particular position on a specific ship involved in episodic missions that are better than some published novels out there, monthly online meetings, etc... and a collection of different social groups and other game related activities that occur, includingSTOof course.
As a sometimes referred toTrekspert, I have also had the privilege to be a presenter/panelist over the years at large ComiCons that have had a science fiction/Star Trek component, including the one that just premiered Star Trek Continues latest episode "The White Iris" on May 29, 2015. It was an exciting evening for all with the cast and crew of the series there to not only present the episode, but to interact through panels and events with enthusiasts over the 4-day event. Here is a link to their 4 completed TOS continuation episodes, along with other footage: http://www.startrekcontinues.com/episodes.html
We's also like to announce that newly graduated and promoted Lieutenant J.G. Arina recently completed the Academy program in the field of Science with a specialty in Botany. Afterward, she completed an application for the position of Newsletter Writer and was approved and placed into that position yesterday. She is already working on articles and the format for the next Fleet Newsletter.
Are there others out there that would also like to have a defining role in an integrated Star Trek Community?
Having been in Lotus Fleet since before launch I can say if you are looking for any kind of a fleet we are worth a look. From very active players to casual ones, like myself, there is always something to do and someone willing to help.
Wow...it's been a while since I've posted here. With the release of season 10.5, we're excited about the Fleet Armada system. Lotus Fleet is a good mid-sized fleet which seems to fit a "Beta" Fleet quite well.
We're interested in forming an Armada. While we will be reaching out to some fleets, if interested, ambassadors of other fleets are welcome to post here in order to open a dialogue.
We are very interested in finding reputable and well-respected community partners to form new relationships. The UFP Armada is designed with a community focus at the forefront and we have been an influential part of the Star Trek gaming scene for over 13 years. What separates our Armada from others you may come across is our dedication to members and those wishing to align themselves with us.
We have an extensive history with STO, including interviews with influential developers, assistants and stars with more planned for the future. We also have a number of dedicated STO players who are always willing to help others out with builds, tips and tricks, helping players with their own goals, or just getting together for fun.
The UFP is currently spread across 5 total fleets, 3 FED and 2 KDF. We have a 60 day inactivity policy enforced for our primary fleets, but our alt fleets are unrestricted. The UFP currently has over 1300 active characters and 600 unique STO members.
We would like to be your home away from home among the stars. We support autonomy for all armada members, but we will also work to ensure that you have representation and a voice in matters affecting relations between different groups, the management of armada features, and an open line of communication to discuss concerns and questions. Your fleet will be recognised as an important part of our greater community!

On behalf of Lotus Fleet, greetings. You honor us by recognizing our Fleet. We recognize UFP as a well-established Fleet, being one of the largest, most active in STO. I have sent you a personal message, but in summary, Lotus Fleet is interested in discussing an alliance (armada) with UFP.
Lotus Fleet has been involved with STO long before launch. We too interacted with developers and even had some of them attend our Academy. In one interview, we spied one of our diplomas hanging on the wall of a developer's office. We had a few members who started playing in Family & Friends (prior to Closed Beta). It's been quite the experience watching STO develop over the years.
We look forward to discussing this with you further.

Hi Lotus Fleet...I'm going to keep this post short only because it's 2 a.m. here and I should be asleep . However, I want to extend an olive branch of peace and perhaps we can talk and chat in the game or through email/TeamSpeak about the armadas.
Again sorry for keeping this post a little short and brief, but feel free to friend me in-game at Grayfox@GrayfoxJames or email at Info@LibertyTaskForce.com take care.

Thank you for posting on our thread! Lotus Fleet's top officers are meeting today to discuss Armada options. Upon reviewing the information regarding your armada, Liberty Task Force may be just what Lotus Fleet is looking for. In turn, we may be able to offer amenities beyond STO (e.g. Lotus Fleet Academy).
Excellent glad you are interested. May I ask do you also have a KDF fleet and if so what are your levels on both factions? If you don't wish to answer that here you can email me at Info@LibertyTaskForce.com your fleet impressed me because I see you guys have been around for some time and your website has recent posts which is nice.

More to follow.
