For those that are not only looking for a well-established and efficiently functioning fleet but also enjoy making a real contribution to the fleet itself, then your wish may have just come true.
In addition to participating in very engaging Star Trek RP and in missions and such in STO, there are a variety of site positions in the Lotus Fleet available for current and new members to apply.
For example:
In the Command Division we are in need of someone with graphic skills and experience to become our Media Developer.
We also need Writers and Editors for our new Fleet Newsletter.
In the Operations Division we could us an RP Assistant, an RP Recruiter, and additional Event Planners.
In the Academy, we could use several Academy Professors, such as Professors of Tactical & Security, Science, Medicine, and Operations.
So if you are a connoisseur of Star Trek related activities, interactions, conversations, etc... then you may very well find a home within the Lotus Fleet.
Currently there is still one listed RP positions open in the Fleet:

However, with a crew of 1,000 available on the ship, there are still openings for those interested in serving in one of the departments on the ship... perhaps as an assistant to any chief... for example.
Currently, the USS Phoenix is in the midst of the dedication ceremony for this newly crafted Avenger-class Star Cruiser: a hybrid vessel modified and upgraded to the max toward a specialization for scientific research and exploration.
Major speeches from Starbase Fleet Captain Samji and the commanding officer of this new starship Captain Syntron are about to transpire.
Afterward... they will commence with their maiden voyage... which should a very exciting adventure.
Basic details about qualifying for an RP position in Lotus Fleet:
The Lotus Fleet RP is in the midst of the USS Phoenix commissioning ceremony in the great hall of the Lotus Starbase. The after party celebration is about to commence. Woo hoo! There's not just Synthehol at this shindig... no Sir... there are spirits present that would make Scotty grin from ear-to-ear! Yes, indeed.
Meanwhile, the USS Horizon is out testing their new Transwarp drive... and a presentation about a unique species is about to begin in their lecture hall.
There is much immersion into the realm of Star Trek in these stories... for those that like this sort of thing. ;-)
There are lists of many available fleets are in these threads. Take a look at each one, just how comprehensive is their overall organization?
If you are looking for a smaller more intimate fleet that exists and functions beyond STO as well, then just gaze back at all of the info on the previous posts and pages of the Lotus Fleet and you can see that we have quite an extensive offering for those that truly love Star Trek and are willing and inspired to join a fleet that has a well-rounded and dedicated membership.
For something different, we are attempting in our fleet to play a game of Tongo based on rules our Operations CO Admiral Evshell made up for the Ferengi game popularized by Deep Space Nine.
He put together the rules based on things said during the shows as well as standard Business Economics. They are available in a word document that we are using to figure out what the hell we are doing... although that in itself is rather questionable. :-)
Nevertheless... we are risk-takers... as you would expect in Starfleet... and are willing to experiment with something new and different... especially if it has a Star Trek origin-connection.
NOTE: It is a turn based game, so everyone involved will have to be consistently active for this to work and be enjoyable! The rest can just watch the action unfold... i.e. spectators.
Our second RP Fleet Action concluded back in the spring, and while the novelization is still in process, our Fleet Admiral Kheren made a video teaser about the story entitled Crusade. This was the longest RP to date: 14 months in the making.
Welcome to the Commander of Lotus Fleet's Operations Division Admiral Athos. One of our original members has returned and now leads our Operation division. This is the division that is responsible for all of the activity that occurs within the fleet. So... look for an upcoming surge in fleet events, including STO!

The USS Horizon, the flagship of the fleet, has already completed successful transwarp drive tests and is about to launch itself toward DS9 at literally record time/speed.
There are available positions on each ship for those that like to be involved in Star Trek RP. For example, the USS Phoenix needs a Chief Security/Tactical officer.
Looking for Events to participate in? Well... in Sorripto's capable hands there are Events to participate in throughout a given week. You can check out our weekly thread of upcoming events and also check out the monthly calendar as well. There is even a thread available for you to put in a request for an Event or to even host an Event yourself or with a teammate.
We have members in STO virtually everyday. STO players looking for a Fleet are encouraged to look around our active website... sign in... post a message in the Shoutbox... then watch and see all of the members that will appear to greet you. This is probably one of the most organized yet fun fleets that you will find, but we really want to add more active STO players to our fleet! Do you like to lead Missions and STFs? Note: We are NOT a massive fleet filled with anonymous members. Instead, we all interact with each other in-game, through the website, and through RP. We use Skype for messages and actual conversations, and TeamSpeak 3 for official and unofficial meetings, in addition to PMs and email.
In other words, we are known individuals among the fleet and with each other. The more you participate then the better you will be known and appreciated... just like in the real world.

You know what I like about Lotus Fleet? Ever since helping to found this Fleet back in January 2008 (that's right, before STO even launched!), we've always had a great group of people as members. Back in the day, it was a small group but everyone knew everyone else and we all had mature attitudes.
We slowly expanded by launching the Academy and RP was always there, but as more and more people joined us, we were able to expand RP, start a newsletter, create artwork and team up in games and later in STO once it launched.
We are not the largest Fleet out there, but if you're looking for a drama-free zone where people are actually interested in how you're doing and want to kick-back and play STO, then Lotus Fleet is definitely for you. We are also open to diversity; it doesn't matter what gender you are, orientation or what country you are from (though we are primarily an english-speaking Fleet), we welcome you.

A long weekend is a great time to play some serious STO, but I sincerely hope that you all go out and do something fun, be it the lake, kayaking, a water park or theme park, hiking, camping, etc.
We had a great Fleet event on Saturday driving towards building up Fleet Marks. It was a combination of accomplishing missions and teaching some tricks of the trade.
Out Dilithium Mine is at 98%; we're very excited to open up the exterior map and do some dilithium mining.
Note: There is a general live Lotus Fleet meeting on Teamspeak 3 that is open to the public The meeting will commence at 5 PM EST today followed by a Star Trek Audio Quiz.

The newsletter was really well done. Captain Storm Windfall created the original newsletter back in the day, so I'm glad that we've got her back on board for us again.
The Lotus Fleet meeting went really well. We had 12 people that were able to show up which is great.
Sorripto was also promoted to the rank of Commander (in Lotus Fleet); congratulations!
Commander Sorripto led us through a great audio quiz; congratulations to Admial Evshell for winning Gold and Ensign Montgomery for taking Silver. Everyone else had a previous award.
Lotus Fleet is developing right along. We now have a full tier 2 Dilithium Mine which includes the mine and both facilities, and we have provisions available for consoles and warp cores.
Though the starbase is not the area of concentration right now, projects are being completed which continues developing the facilities.
Finally, the Embassy is being upgraded to tier 2. It only requires Fleet Marks and Dilithium and a few are donating here and there as the Embassy is our lowest priority.
We're starting to see more and more active players which is evident in how quickly our projects are being completed. I've even seen a couple of players that went dormant come back and play.
So, if you are new to the game, join Lotus Fleet where there is plenty to do. We are not simply a STO Fleet; we are a Star Trek Community that happens to play STO with many other activities on our forums. Check us out for a drama-free Fleet.
If the answer to that question is a resounding YES then come on over to Lotus fleet.

I might mention that Admiral Athos has been with Lotus Fleet for just over 5 and a half years, being an original founder of Lotus Fleet!

It was a whirlwind of activity getting this put together by our deadline, but we somehow managed to accomplish this within 24 hours of our goal.

The Lotus Fleet meeting went really well. We had 12 people that were able to show up which is great.
Sorripto was also promoted to the rank of Commander (in Lotus Fleet); congratulations!
Commander Sorripto led us through a great audio quiz; congratulations to Admial Evshell for winning Gold and Ensign Montgomery for taking Silver. Everyone else had a previous award.

Though the starbase is not the area of concentration right now, projects are being completed which continues developing the facilities.
Finally, the Embassy is being upgraded to tier 2. It only requires Fleet Marks and Dilithium and a few are donating here and there as the Embassy is our lowest priority.
We're starting to see more and more active players which is evident in how quickly our projects are being completed. I've even seen a couple of players that went dormant come back and play.
So, if you are new to the game, join Lotus Fleet where there is plenty to do. We are not simply a STO Fleet; we are a Star Trek Community that happens to play STO with many other activities on our forums. Check us out for a drama-free Fleet.
