If these people don't solve thier problems quickly, our trek will be ruined and we may never get a chance again. I am writing paramount and to the estate of roddenbery.

    :(

I applaud the accomplishments of the STO staff in bringing Star Trek Online to us the eager game player. I fully understand the massive amount of work and problem solving that comes with launching such a massive endeavor. However, there is the customer side. One must not assume that because the product you have is in so much demand that it really doesn’t matter weather you lose a few or not. My belief is that every customer is important and customers have family and friends after all nothing can beat word of mouth advertising, which, can translate into future customers. Therefore lending a lack luster approach to customer issues can create problems. Frankly, logistic for game play issues and problems that may accurr should have been factored in the planning of the game. Trust me I understand the great amount of work as well as planning involved but, still you do have something going here with STO that can give other competitors a run for there money. One issue that has seemed have reared it’s head from what I perceive from friends I have playing the game here on the east coast is the, “You are not allowed to log into the server at this time”. This is occurring daily some of us only have a window of time to get in some game play and we find that we cannot. Paying for services that you can’t get access to when you want doesn’t sound or look like good customer service. To top it off it seems no one is trying to address the problem. Other issues include the purchase of Cryptic points that don’t show on the account in or out of game. Working access to the website email. I’m sure there are many problems customers are having with their accounts. I’m not bashing you guys, I know you have a lot on your plate but how about taking care of some the customer account issues that seem to be getting larger. Thanks for hearing me out and thanks for doing a good job so far. To those who may not agree with my post, well that is your right. Peace Out!

Right now, I'd just like to be able to post a damn message in the other forums I was able to prior to a week and a half ago. I've got no warnings and I'm not banned. WTF?

"Connection to the login server timed out"
"Lost connection to the account server"

really? is that because you are using the same account server for both Champs and STO?
seriously ladies. lets get it together. i'm tired of getting booted from STO because of this stupid, easily adressed problem.

    P.S. I will be heard.

This thread is great. It progresses from "Yay, forums, happy to be here, cryptic rocks" all the way to professing extreme, and I mean pretty extreme hate and discontent "serial killer angry." Any of you Psychology Masters out there looking for a thesis, this may be it.

From the Inane to the Insane...this thread has it all.

Ok I bought the game and then i thought u could play with the free month then it tells me that u have to put in a credit card. So then I went and bought a prepaid cc because i dont have one. And then when I tried to put it init wouldnt take it. Then I went to check and see if it was activated. It said it was activated and cryptic had charged me a dollar every time i tried to put it in. Im so ticked they scammed me.

I'm vehemently enjoying the universe of Star Trek Online. A game such as this has been long overdue and has done a tremendous amount to rejuvinate my love of Star Trek and of the online role-playing game world. :)

Pre paid credit cards don't usually allow reoccurring subscription services. Read the fine print on the credit card.

Just out of curiosity - I'm unable to post in most... almost all threads on the forum. Why is that, does anyone know?

Is it merely because I haven't bought the game yet? I'm certainly planning to, but since it is formed around wishes of its community, it would be nice to have some say in it before I actually buy it. Even though not matter how it turns out, I will eventually buy, if nothing else, to try it - after all it is a Star Trek MMO.

OK, so it's not just me.

I have NO idea what's going on either. I was able to post in most of the forums up until 2 weeks ago, then NOTHING. Only reason I can think of is that the site is locking people out who haven't input a code for the game, i.e. this has now become a "member's only" message board. Might be to keep out people who don't own the game, but just want to flame it and the people playing. I have the game and my code, but I'm waiting till my hardware is up to date before doing everything. That said, I had written and asked people here to try and get some answers to find out why my posting privilages were suspended. Still nothing. Good luck finding some.

Ah I see. I had suspected as much. I too signed up back in the day - in order to sign up for the beta :)

Of course never got around to it as it seemed at one point like the game would never make it that far - but joyously all the nay-sayers were wrong :D

Now if only our posting privileges could be reinstated. I have many opinions on the game that so far have gone unsaid.

By the way - when are they going to update the webpage? The ship list is certainly out of date. There's not even a tier 5 on there. The Miranda class isn't on there either. Come on guys.

^ Yo dog, it is the game code thing from the manual. Just added it to the account, set up the game to play, and I'm allowed to post in the other forums now. Only one problem so far - game's tellin' me I have an invalid password.

well - I'll have to input that when I buy the game then. I'm putting it off for now (since I'm busy working on my master thesis).

I'll just watch the shows and all of the movies until then to get in the right mood. Hopefully only hardcore trek fans are in the game then, so I won't have to run into ships called the lollipop or yellow submarine or whatever.
I just hope most of the annoying issues have been solved by then. My major beef so far is of course that it's mostly combat. And while some of my most enjoyable moments of the shows and movies are when they open up the phasers and torpedoes, it would be nice to have options.

Also - I've noticed in a few gameplay videos I've seen, the computer voice talks of left and right shield facings. In my opinion they should use the nautical terms, as it's more canonical. As in fore (or forward), aft (or astern), starboard, port, ventral and dorsal - if those shield facings are ever introduced.

Also - more ships of course. Ambassador class, Nebula Class, Oberth Class, Cheyenne Class, Excelsior Class, Soyuz Class etc. etc.

Oh how I've waited for this game for years. And nothing I've seen so far have made me want to play it any less. I think the guys at Cryptic are doing their best. And with a few more months it's going to be a great game.

Ah, thanks for mentioning this, as I was having the same problems - I registered on this forum without owning the game, and found I can't post to any forum, except for this one in a reply. I own the game, now, but waiting to play until I can build my new system.

It would have been nice for the admins to indicate in the FAQ that a registered person can't post threads until they enter the key for the full game (would have saved me two days of being annoyed).

They need to upgrade their servers, but won't because it is not cost effective. Obvious the last upgrade only supported the existing population and wasn't meant to handle more coming in, because the lag is back.

:) Even if they solved the lag you couldn't play it. Too many non-existent errors get in the way.

    Is RA5 still max...?
I've read a ton about "this new, that new," and "this fixed, that fixed," but I must have missed the thread about leveling after RA5 and exceedeing lvl10 equiopment...

I havent earned skill points in weeks, promoted all 10 BO's, and just spent all BO points, and nothing.. Yet I still manage to get blasted fast in pvp space, lol, no matter how fast on the buffs...

Any suggestions besides changing ships and careers?
