You understood that "We come in peace, shoot to kill" dates back to TOS, but you still want to complain that it's a "new" thing?

I give up, man. You're somewhere between They Changed It, Now It Sucks and It's the Same, Now It Sucks. It's hard to communicate with someone wedded so savagely to a single point of view, one at variance with available data.

Not yet, but who knows? Maybe we'll be able to do it.

A bit irrelevant but this reminded of the Ferengi Alliance in Birth of The Federation single player strategy game:

Reason is I usually crushed them first!

Not likely at all given the 'Time and Tide' Mission et.al.

civil war with the klingons is the most exciting idea.. or borg coming back, borg are way too weak in this game now... maybe they are planning to redo all th eold borg missions, i love that mission with the queen but it plays and looks terrible...

i also think there willl be a major reduction of all the Click & Play, they have mentioned in livestreams that the admiralty and rep systems are old and and they wanted to do something else.

Problem with changing the Admiralty will be that it is the number one source to make dilithium so I can't see the community responding well to that... but that is also why I think they will do it. They want people to buy dil.

admiralty is not old, not as old as the reputation system. no please not the f.... borg. A klingon civil war would be very cool, there are a lot of Gorn who still want to recover their freedom. well most of them are dead now, destroyed in a genocide on Nimbus :p

If the Gorn in that canyon on Nimbus represent all of the Gorn who want the Hegemony back, that's not much of a movement. There are more people who think the Seattle Mariners will win the World Series one day than there are Gorn on Nimbus.

The current Discovery arc has been about building up this idea of J'Ula as a new threat in 2410, which we haven't seen yet. My bet is a coming Klingon Civil War, which destabilizes the Alliance.

It would be nice to see something done with the two gigantic plot holes created with her and "Killy" still being UA in 2410+...

It's ok, those gorn on nimbus must breed like rabbits on crack, I've mowed down enough of them to populate half the galaxy and they're still in that canyon.

A PvP change would be nice to include:
    - removal of the competitive junk boost items
    - increase of ship's max damage resistance from 75% to 95%
    - some boosts to shield heal and hull heals (the DPS is excessive compared to any possible defense)
    - tanks in PvP should matter more

Other things that should be revamped:
    - Rom and Omega reps
    - many nice species that still only have T5 ships (like voth)

I love it when people say this because it totally ignores that there is in fact star Trek AFTER TOS, but before the Kelvin timeline, and NONE of it was about that
-TNG was largely a show about politics, and Picard mostly dealt with races that the Federation already knew about. Seeking out NEW life was not the focus of his mission.
-DS9 was a war story between the powers of the Alpha Quadrant, and the Dominion. Again, seeking out new life wasn't the primary goal.
-VOY was a story about people trying to get home. That they ran into new alien races was a side affect of their primary mission, and not the mission itself. They were not in the Delta Quadrant to seek out new life or civilizations, nor did they actively try to do so. They just ran into whatever they ran into on the straightest line back to Earth they could take.
-Enterprise was the only show, besides TOS, to focus on just going out there and exploring things. Mostly because it was a damn prequel and thus kind of had too. But even then, the actual substantive focus of the show was the Temporal Cold War/Delphic Expanse/Xindi plot that was the running thread of the first three seasons.

So no, one does not need to "explore strange new worlds, seek out new life, new civilizations..." to be a Star Trek game, since Star Trek was rarely ever about that.

I agree, they all look alike.
Now a LTS and loving it.

you would think with how far character generation has come for RPGs...we would not still be seeing the exact same appearance for any given class of unit

texture swapping and vertex manipulation was created for a reason!

oblivion is 3 years older and it had on-the-fly vertex manipulation - probably had texture swapping capability too, but whether it actually had the feature itself in the engine, i don't know
