Things I want in STO:
1) More character customization options such as more clothing options, letting the toon complexion affect the entire body, not just the head. Also a true RGB color picker applied to all costume and appearance options, which would allow for true appearance customization and homogenous colors instead of "this same exact color looks vastly different on two different pieces."
2) Bridge customization, not bridge packs. Let us pick a general layout and adjust the color palette, console appearance, and chair types, as well as more ready room layout options.
3) Customizable ground weapons, i.e. The aesthetic look of phaser dual pistols but they shoot antiproton bolts. For obvious reasons this would only apply to standard ground weapons.
4) For the love of Q please revamp Plasma Ground Weapons. They look like demented Supersoakers right now.
5) True Vanity Impulse and Deflector effects similar to Vanity Shields.
6) A greater payout for hitting T6 Reputations. Currently it takes more time and resources to get from T5 to T6 than it does to get from nothing to T5. Make that grind really pay out at the end.
7) Mirrorverse Refugee event similar to AoY/Delta/Gamma, complete with new Mirrorverse recruits for all factions.
8) Independent Faction, because yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!
Don't get me wrong, most of the new designs look beautiful, but, really? Tier 7s? Because that's what they are.
Why would anyone be buffing FAW again, when projectiles have been at the bottom of the trash pile for years, most of their ability to keep up with half the output of energy weapons nerfed with OKS (total damage loss of about 20% to 40% depending on target shields) back in 13.5? The extra subsystem energy is also going to further this gap yet again - wasn't it once said you didn't want weapons 'competing' for their slots?

I think the explanation is pretty simple. They want their ships to sell and players to return. Making them more powerful in every way will most likely accomplish that goal.
Interesting, I love that the Miracle Worker ships have a massive Engineering section. It's like the engineers are saying: "Enough of your fancy saucers! The Secondary Hull is where the magic happens!" XD
That Federation ship is a little paradoxical. Looks pretty good from the 'above' views, but it's hideous from below!
its not a paradox, its different saucers. they are all variants derived from the oft lamented Typhoon Class. which in and of itself was a big ugly kitbash. but unlike the old jupiter, it was a very well liked big ugly kitbash.
but you're right, that round saucer hull is ugly as sin.
So will other cruisers get this extra console slot, like with the Caitian Escort and it's extra heavy weapon slot, or will it be miracle worker ships only.
Yeah, I know the answer, just hoping given how this was one of the ideas floated around ages ago.
I like the one with the round saucer and huge belly

Wow. Those Fed ships make the Typhoon look good. That is a really awful secondary hull compounding an already ugly Command Battle Cruiser-esque look.
The Romulan and the Klingon ships on the other hand look great. The Romulan ships in particular look really great, and it's nice to see them moving back towards more traditional styling and away from the CBC and Pilot packs.
From what I see in terms of stats however...there better be some massive weaknesses to these ships otherwise we're firmly in Tier 6U/Tier 7 territory, which is not going to be good for the game.
+1 console slot
+30 power to all subsystems
Increased sector space speed
Unless I'm reading it wrong, it's not +30 to all subsystems, it's +30 total, split across all subsystems. If that's the case, it's not really that much of a bonus -- though the extra console is sort of a big deal.

it will not accomplish that goal. It will accomplish a 2nd mass exodus of players this year once they realize that all their ships are useless and that they wasted all their money building new tzenk ships. WTG.

And what about interiors? Are we still skimping on interior designs?
A part of the "MMORPG" genre is "RPG" - which includes immersive sets. I feel ripped off every time I spend actual money, or Zen, or Dilithium, or even EC* on a ship, and just receive a different exterior. Part of my game involves "going sub-skin" and entering my starship.
For many of the ships, you've already developed the maps; we know this because we see the full thing in several different missions. However, those of us who spend our currency on your offerings are rewarded with a standard ship interior... and, in the case of the $20 (U.S.) Galaxy pack, an interior that can't be personalized. I don't want Jean-Luc's interior - I want my own! After paying $20 for a Bridge Pack of One... I get something that's as customizable as the few full interiors of Romulan ships... which is to say, not at all.
There are so many ways that you could improve a user's game immersion, just using the code that's already in the instance with the player! For instance, when the player is at ESD and the default ships drift past the portholes, the user's personal ship's code is present, and could be called by a simple function to display (to the player)... same when she or he is at one of the Fleet Holdings. Their ship or shuttlecraft could easily be represented instead of <default vessel>. If we can see our customized ship by pressing the "U", then a competent programmer could write a simple "if, then, else" snippet.
Don't get me wrong, the bells and whistles you're giving us are nice. Hollow and unsatisfying, but a nice start.
*all of which represent my time traded for something. I then trade the currency from my time to you for the product of your time. I've not had the better end of the negotiation in quite some time.
I dunno, I'm still optimistic about these ships. It is a little bit ridiculous how they're getting another console, but come on, is it really that bad if the meta changes from alpha strike to actual variation in gameplay?
I hereby dub the Fed ships the Frigatebird-class...

There's a pair of words, that describe this who thing. They're on the tip of my tongue, starts with a "p", ends with another "p". Pinger? No. Pow- Power. Power what? Power move? No, no that's not it. Power sink? Unnn.. closer, but not correct. *snaps fingers* Oh, I've got it now! Power-creep! That's what this is doing! It's power creeping all those nice shiny new T-6 ships you already have to pay money for, just like they power-creeped the T-5 ships. Keep on going like you are, Cryptic. Keep on going.
Engineering focused ships for all three factions? Heck, I got Zen burning a hole in my pocket, I'm down. If they suck, I get free admiralty cards and starship traits. So win win! Plus, love that the Feds are getting another 4 nacelle ship that doesn't look hideous (looking at you 25th century pancake cruiser) to finally replace the Stargazer.
