can just imagine it now, a federation marine with a rifle is pointing the gun in an opposte direction but the gun has an autotargeting solution on an that enemy behind the marine, the marine fires and the energy bolt traveled out the rifle, over the gun and around the body of the marine and hits the enemy behind.
Sarcasm aside, i'm not sure klingon tech works like that. if they are as lacking in redeeming qualities as claimed elsewhere, there is a very good chance their weapons are fully manual, big kickback in recoil and the energy round does more damage even after hitting the target to cause the maximum amount death and destruction. it could also mean klingon weapons are very difficult to hold and use. in much the same way their bat'leths with blades pointed towards the warrior are difficult to hold and use and totally unforgiving if it goes wrong.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
A mistake might be to assume that the Klingons are actually interested in practical weapons.
We don't actually see much conquering by the Klingons over the entirety of Startrek. Basically only the assault on Cardassia in DS9 really showed them on an actual warpath.
Instead, much of the fighting is internal. Especially in the timeframe leading up to Discovery.
And what they might have optimzied for is showy displays, so that people can prove their glory and honor by doing combat that's mostly ritualistic in nature.
Their entire "warfare" so far is internal struggles, and it stands to reason that ineffecient combat forms that lead to less and very controlled deaths are ultimately much preferable over actual warfare.
Kinda like the Clans in Battletech have their ridicilous sounding combat rules, like no focused or indirect fire, with calling individiaul challenges on the battlefield. All stuff keeping combat rather personal instead of a large scale warfare optimized for efficiency. Bad for real warfare where the enemy isn't following tese limitations, but good if you want to keep the impact of using combat to resolve disputes minimal and have some kind of system (like social ostracism) to punish people that ignore these limitations.
Imagine if a Klingon tried to resolve a personal dispute with another Klingon with an explosive in his quarters, instead of a ritual knife fight.

Off topic, I hated the RCO (what we referred to the ACOG as when I was in the reserves). In boot camp I had iron sights, completed rifle qual as Sharpshooter (Marksman < Sharpshooter < Expert), had an RCO in MCT but we didn't do rifle qual there, found it awkward to use. Got to my unit, did qual again a few months later with an RCO and dropped down to Marksman (or pizza box as we referred to it as).

Those things work fine. It's just hard to get used to using them. First you need to figure out how to aim/sight it properly, THEN practice actually using it.
the 203 isn't a direct-fire weapon at all, it's an indirect fire weapon-that is, it's designed to fire indirectly at a target. you know, like a mortar, or lobbing a lawndartz over a fence.
the sights (and yes, they have sights) are set up to face the muzzle at an upward angle. if you try to fire it directly at something, you better be VERY close to it-probably inside the blast radius for the round you just fired.
Or.. you know... grenades... it's official name is M203 GRENADE LAUNCHER....
The point I was making is that a person carrying a rifle with an ACOG AND M203 isn't planning to use them together. The weapon has two functions that don't get used simultaneously because they can't.
and look how badass! they put SPYKES on everything so you know that something belongs to the bad-guys, isn't that mature??
What if their logistics division totally sucks and they just started welding spikes on because they never have enough ammo? Those spikes look like hot garbage and seem like an after-market job. Like, they had some bits of deck plating laying around and stuck it on their guns.
Except for the fact that her clothing is missing the most important part, the midriff. All Mirror Universe female clothing must have midriffs and all Mirror Universe males must have goatees.
If find it amusing how many people around the web seem to be mega fans of Captain Georgiou, even though her character didn't actually do anything very important in the story. I guess some people were so desperate for a minority female captain that they will deify the first one they get regardless of how significant they really were.

I liked her because she was clearly one of the type of Starfleet Captains that stood for the ideals of the Federation and Starfleet. She was also established as being in command of the ship for several years, which makes me automatically want to know more about what kind of adventures they went through under her command.

I just like her cause I find her a hottie is all. ~shrugs~

See, I agree with that. But you aren't deifying her like some people I have seen. We saw a good captain her died on a mission...just like literally every other captain who died at the Battle of Binary Stars. It's just interesting how some people think she's some kind of god, for whatever reason.

Almost completely wrong. She provides a very important role and fills the half hour of screen time she gets with more interest that half the crew of Dsc (excluding Lorca) managed in 10 episodes. Also, Han people can't really be described as a minority , they outnumber every single ethnic group on the planet.
But, sure if you just saw she was oriental and assumed that that was why people like her because you didn't watch the pilot episodes and take note of her actual role in the story, then I suppose you could be forgiven for making a silly post.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

I could see Klingons viewing autotargeting as dishonorable tbh.
Kinda like this weapon from The Fifth Element?
The real question though is if the company commander knows this.
Point is, you can still use the weapon adequately even with all that stuff on it.

Least the empress looks good.

Take a big, fat heaping of some CANON!!!!!

Well, being an anime princess that I am, I can live with that.
