How can you have them already? If you got them on Tribble it is possible the visuals aren'T there yet, I remember testing the Lukari reputation on Tribble before it hit Holodeck and the weapons used stock effects there that were changed for the live version later.

You can get them if you had leftover vouchers from previous week-end events (Sompek arena in that case) as these ones don't expire and are valid for all weekend events, it's even mentioned in their description.
And yeah, the visuals and sounds are of common Starfleet phasers, very disappointing. You get a special FX when you reach 5 amplifier relays stacks, though.
I've stated in three separate Threads that the Sompek ones were usable here. I said that the Weekend Event Vouchers from Sompek would be usable in future Weekend Events right after the Sompek was over.

Hey I'm more than happy to have free account wide beams and dcs (yes, dhcs would be preferable we alllll know this and it's not exactly a secret ) but like sompek they're great for alts I dont invest too much in that I just throw whatever mishmash of stuff I can get on them.. combining these and the sao Paolo quads or the tos Connie phasers just another bit of acctwide goodness they can use without investing too much into it. I mean let's be honest how much op-ness did you expect for a three day grind event that, depending on how bad your teams suck, you can complete in less than ten minutes total combined. I'm rather liking this little microevents for just that reason. Same reason I'm quite curious to see what the endeavour system is going to hold come the 18th.

I had 2 Vouchers left from the last event. One on my main, one on an alt. They are account bound, so I transferred the one on my alt to my main.
I did the event once and I had 3 vouchers. All done!
Phasers, meh. None of my toons use phasers anymore. More fed-centric favrotism, eh ?
Even if we concede to pessimism and say it is another case of Fed favoritism, phasers are still one of the most under-loved damage types in the game. So really, this is a good thing, at least in this case.
I didn't read anything on the weekend maru event being a one character thing but while jumping between my characters, they all share an active cooldown. So do i only need one run per account or is it one run per character and there is something wrong with my cooldown timer?
The more pressing question is, why will it be a beam array or a dual cannon again? Why can't we choose one out of all the types to fit our playstyle?
Well... by giving us both a beam array and dual cannon, they do sorta cater to both schools of space combat. Beam array for the beam builds and dual cannons for the escort/raider cannon builds. May not be a dual heavy, but honestly I don't see a problem with using at least one dual. For example on a ship like the Negh'Tev or Mat'ha... having one dual cannon visually looks better as your ship is firing all four forward cannon hardpoints. For the Mat'ha, the dual heavies fire from the cannons on the pylons and the duals fire from the cannons on the nose. Negh'Tev fires from the wingtips in front of the ramscoops and the weapon pods under the wings.
It ignores DBB builds, turret builds and omni-beam dependant builds though. There is literally no reason for the arbitrary restriction to two "mainstream schools" and taking away the flexibility of unconventional builds.

the patch tomorrow is going to change the Very Rare Status to Ultra Rare
maybe they will change the color, but I doubt it
Thnks for the info....ornge - figures they wouldn't be my color blue...This is where the R n D would come in very useful where you may modify a weapon to suit ones own needs likes etc...

there are simply not enough fights in Star Trek online that take long enough
or you have maps which forces you to travel between points and loose the Stacks
