You know....finding the stories isn't that hard.
(Uh, except for the ones still lost with the old Cryptic forum URLs)
Figuring out if they are part of the "Master Verse" or if they were just done as one off stories just for fun when they are not labeled...especially inside Literary Challenges is harder.
Especially since: Sander233 format (with the song/poem at the top, followed by the story) seems to be used by all of you authors for a lot of stuff.
At least, I have the time frame you guys were writing most of your stories regularly was from about September of 2012 until about middle of 2015 or so. Then after that things start spreading out and become much less regular and less organized.
You know, I wonder if Sander233 never finished organizing the all the stories into his original timeline listing....and that is what I am seeing there.

some of it, yeah. for a while we were passing URLs around, and a lot of the newer stuff was written in Google before being posted.
also, as people came into the group, their stories kind of...followed them in, became part of it. Esp. Gulberat's stuff, and Knightraider6's stuff.
You know what else it could be: The Forumpocalypse of 2015! That was when they moved the forums over to Vanilla.
You know that MDK got the ban hammer. So, lost one prolific writer there.
And the "War of the Masters" series is soooo extensive, now. So many characters, so many incidents. I am seriously considering keeping notes to keep track.
As it is: it is going to take months for anyone to read and catch up with it. Especially, if new writers that maybe interested in joining in. I was reading someone mention this in a post....this "Master Verse" does deserve a Wiki.

I had an unsuccessful run at trying to find "Visiting with the Dead" (second half, Episode 5) this afternoon.
But I did find "Visiting with the Dead" Episode 1 as a Literary Challenge. I guess, that is where the idea came to be. I was on the right track...but not quite.
And I found another PN story that was missing, possibly. Has no title, but uses your characters. It would be great if it went with another one of these story titles in the original post that does not have a Vanilla link. But what are the chances?
Sorry, it is a mess....and definitely not done. I am still fidding and fiddling.... not open for editing.
I have "things" where I know where I put them and do not want things suddenly moved.
And THIS is NOT a nice "Table of Contents" you can use for posting on the Forums (like Sander233's "Timeline").

I am going to move on to finding @knightraider6 stories and missing links.
Then on to MDK. Ugh..MDK has a lot of stories using the Masterverse format, but never made it on the list. I don't know why? Did he tick you guys off?

To Authors.... If you write in a Literary Challenge:
Put a TITLE on that story...even if it is a very short piece of work.
It looks like Sanders had to resort to the use of the title of the "Prompt" as a place marker on stories in his timeline because there was no other option. (At least, I think that is what he is doing. I hope that is what he is doing.) I will find out as I hunt down the last few stories that have the old Cryptic forum links today.
The title of the prompt does not help you find the story if it gets lost. Especially, if it is nowhere to be found in the body of the text of that particular story. It is only a theme, or a trigger for an idea....horrible for an I.D.
So, anyhoo...put a unique title on your stories. Title that makes that story stand out of that line up of stories from other authors in that LC.

OK... I am resolving an issue with titles.
I find many stories in the literary challenges that do not have titles. Here is your chance to add them.
I have taken to using the first line of the story to identify them in the main reference list. It will make it easier to locate because it connects text in the actual story post to the reference list. This is useful in a search or as a reference for verification of.
I assume: Sanders had polled you all for titles previously??
Because there are titles in his "Timeline" that never made it to the story post, itself.
When the Cryptic forums were shut down, it had the effect of disconnecting the title in the "Timeline" from the post itself. And since there are no notes (that I am aware of) to tie the title to the story other than a broken link to the old Cryptic forums...there was no indication to which story it belonged to in the Vanilla forums.
(Granted all titles are related to the story itself...and one could puzzle it out....but...hell!) @knightraider6 we have some work to do on about 4-5 of your stories.
To solve the possibility of Titles being fragmented off story posts, again....I am adding a line to the reference list and calling it "Proper Title".
When I reconstruct the Table of Content's version of the Timeline....you will have a chance to ADD A TITLE to your Stories that do not have one. You won't have to settle with it forever being listed under the literary challenge it was found in...like "Hello, Q" or "We'll Always Have New York".
Coming up with descriptive titles often isn't easy, TBH. A lot of the time in the Masterverse, especially in Sander's later stuff, we resorted to referencing the song we used as the epigraph, for example my "The Silence Ends" ("Welcome to the Universe" by Thirty Seconds to Mars) and Takeshi's and my coproduction "The Only Way to Go" ("One Hell of an Amen" by Brantley Gilbert). Or A Good Compromise, which was a reference to the famous Larry David line about how a good compromise leaves all sides dissatisfied (which the protagonist quoted at the denouement).
"Great War! / And I cannot take more! / Great tour! / I keep on marching on / I play the great score / There will be no encore / Great War! / The War to End All Wars"
— Sabaton, "Great War"
I got involved late. I co-wrote a couple of short stories further down the list ("Remembrance of the Fallen" and "The Only Way to Go" with Takeshi and "Past Continuous" with Gulberat) and I helped on writing the series bible, but I only wrote two stories in the 'verse solo. I have my own set of established characters and stories, the "Bait and Switch-verse", that didn't mesh particularly well with Masterverse canon as it stood -- Sander and I looked at the Moab Civil War and basically went, no way in hell would they intentionally put somebody like prime-verse Kanril Eleya within a hundred light-years of that clusterfuck; as of latest writing she's commanding a heavy cruiser in the sector fleet out of DS9 -- so I had to mostly invent new ones. We had talked about my new character, Tyria Sark, having a role in
infiltrating Operation Peacekeeper as a mole for Starfleet Intelligence to investigate the covert, illegal Federation interference that led to the Moab Civil War.
Unfortunately, right then, Sander took a major turn for the worse and the 'verse went on indefinite hiatus, and I went back to my own 'verse.
"Great War! / And I cannot take more! / Great tour! / I keep on marching on / I play the great score / There will be no encore / Great War! / The War to End All Wars"
— Sabaton, "Great War"
I am going to say: Sander233 did not add you to the collaborating author list because you were not involved at the time he made said list. I am staying out of the void of decisions that was left when Sanders passed away.
And the reality is: he herded all these cats together and developed a cohesive group. And kept them together with friendship and trust. It is not up to me to edit IN people to the team after he is gone.
I will fix the old stuff that isn't working, work with the authors on fixing titles, as needed.
I will create a new Table of Contents version of the "Masterverse Timeline" with the corrections.
I will give you guys the Master List of stories that I am working from. This list is important. KEEP TRACK of your stories!
The Master List will tell you where those stories are located in this mess of Vanilla.
You folks can work on updating that Master List with NEWER developments. Including new authors.
That Master List will have all the stories I can find...that have names I recognize from Masterverse (or maybe not...I haven't had time to read everything).
(BTW...I decided my favorite name is: Lt. Commander Enrico Montoya...It just sounds cool. It's too bad, I think he may be a human.)
