Updates: We've got several new stories that need to be added to the list if they haven't been already:

I have most of them... couple I haven't seen at all.

I will cross check a bit later. Getting dinner going over here. :)

OK.. I looked over this list. Most of this stuff is NEW.
Not part of Sander233's original Timeline. THAT is all I am trying to fix.
Plus looking for old stuff that did not make it to the timeline in the first place.

Mixing in NEW STUFF to the old timeline...is making what I am doing take longer.
You guys try to figure out where you want to slide in stuff later.

I will ADD it to the Separate Author listings. But that is as far as I am going with it.

Not happy with "BOLD" text on the main "War of the Masters" titles... need to fix that.
ALL CAPS looks better on that.

But overall...I can live with it. Lot of typing bit by bit though....am I getting paid hourly??

    OOPS forgot a 6 in 2396
And NONE of the links have been double checked before posted...they may have got mixed up....

THIS WAS JUST A TEST RUN.

I frickin' can't believe it....the dang Vanilla ate my test post. ::::GGGGGRRRRRRRRRR:::: I am... unhappy.

I can't believe you guys still want to use this forum to post your stories in this mess.

Frankly, if you ask me: this is too much a p.i.t.a. as far as upkeep goes.
Keep the lyrics and credits dump the YouTube.

Broken YouTube links with replacements that work...went with the ones that sounded better to me:

    Seriously folks....You Tube links...unreliable.
Take it out of the equation.

Use Lyrics and the "CREDITED TO" info ONLY!!!
It is easy enough with the credits to find a video if the readers want to.

It looks unfinished, and points at carelessness,
when Links you post go to this:

    Or this:

    http://youtu.be/sc0BqXN9BKw

You have absolutely no control over when this could happen.

Believe me, going through every story to find these broken links...
NOT something you want to spend time on, regularly.

And, even though someone else could be nice enough to find them all for you....
YOU have to FIX them on your own posts. I doubt anyone will want to do that.

I still have a long long ways to go.... need to add all the links to the Titles... fiddle with Font sizes and colors etc..

But I want you guys input on what I am creating in BLOGGER for the Masterverse Timeline.
Sorry, Vanilla just TICKED ME OFF!

It is on Blogger because: it gives me a place to publish web pages without dealing with Domain Names or Hosting costs. And it is EASY. OH and it is part of that Google thing.

Did Sander ever discuss with you why so many stories by the various authors were not in his Timeline list?
Did he not get a complete list of stories from the authors, themselves?

I been working on adding the URLs to Links on the Blog today...so haven't spent any time looking for the "lost" stuff. "Lost stuff" are all the stories written by the authors in the "Contributing Author" list I find in Vanilla that I am finding NOT in Sander's Timeline list.

Now, that I have the web pages kinda organized...I can start plugging in the missing stories a bit easier. Only, I have no clue from skimming them: if they are Masterverse or "something else"?

And what Stardate Calculator were you guys using to convert to the Year for this Masterverse?
The ones I am finding are either broken or just plain wrong. LOL!

OK... complaining to Frtoaster about my "Timeline Test" being eaten by Vanilla...
Oh, I could have told you that would happen. Vanilla will eat your post if the edited version is too close to the original one. Editing for formatting is especially likely to get your post eaten. I have resorted to adding extra text whenever I edit a post.

I usually add something like this:

EDIT: Some text to get past the post-eating spam filter

    or this:

(Typing some extra stuff here to get past the post-eating spam filter.)

    http://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline/discussion/comment/13186633/#Comment_13186633

He said I couldn't repost another copy of my "Timeline Test" because : I just copied the same darn URLs all over again. I would have had to make a completely new set of links to post.

Well, I don't have to worry about this any more.... but thought this is good info to pass along. Remember what triggers that post eating mechanic on Vanilla....saving a post with very few changes, too many times.

Also, I notice that once in a while a NEW post will disappear.....but turns out it is still in Vanilla's "My Drafts" folder, so take a look in that: http://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline/drafts

we've had a consistent problem with stardate calculators. also, a lot of the unregistered stuff happened after Sander was too sick, and we kind of lost track of each other.

OK.. gonna quit bothering with converting Stardate then. I made a tab for stories with dates that are "undetermined"...I think that should cover all that. I, also, had to make a new tab for stories "Year 2013+2413+"...there are some "Academy Daze" stories in that category.

I will just hunt for links to everyone's stories. I will only add the ones into the timeline that refers back to known Masterverse stories or series, then. The rest of the story links will go on individual author's web page.

I am making actual blog posts listing stories that are their own series. Plus a few of my own personal thought to add a bit of flavor as I have time. I would like to make blog posts about a few of my favorite stories as I am reading through. :) A couple of stories I want to mention come to mind....even now. :) I am not into writing Fanfic....but I can think up stuff like crazy for a blog.

Few changes to the Timeline blog / website thingie today:

    1. While I was playing the game and in the Kahless Expanse, took screen shot of the system space to replace the "background". I like that the stars are kinda orange in Kahless Expanse...and similar to the colors already being used in the theme.

I thought the Timeline Tabs was getting lost / did not stand out in the previous background (stock photo from Google). I am not sure the starfield from Kahless Expanse is my final choice, though. Does not look sharp enough to me. And I was told before: the game does not have a lot of details in the screen shots.

    2. Added "NEW!" to the Timeline Tab at the top of the page. That is where I moved the list of new stories to. Looks better than on the sidebar.

    3. Started adding URLs to the Author's pages in the sidebar. Only have Knightraider6, Patrickngo and Sander233 pages active, because those were the only ones I hunted down story links for. That part of the website will need a lot more work and did not do any story hunts this weekend. I have a long way to go there.

Note: all URLs go to the Vanilla Forum pages (all yucky gray, unless you have a way to manipulate CSS stuff)....because of the problems getting links to individual posts with ARC overlay. I am pretty sure PWE will never fix this.

Please share the link to the blog with the other authors so they can take a look, too.
    Masterverse Timeline

BTW..... I forgot to mention: (SSC) = starswordc added to contributing author listing. I hope those chops are OK for you.

I was browsing on STO Reddit and saw this today: TrekFic Reddit...I see a STO tag on a story there.
Hmmmm...might be a good place to advertise the Masterverse Timeline blog. :)

I got a private message out to the moderators of TrekFic to see if I can post something about the blog over on their subreddit. At least, you might get a few more readers for your stories, if any of them follow the links over from there.

You know, if any of the authors want to add a short blurb about yourselves to the author pages. E-mail it to me.

    I got a better idea.

On the title page...I wrote these were stories about your "Player Characters" in STO. At least, that was the impression I had, anyways. So, how about a screen shot of one of the characters you write about and a short bio about them? If you guys are more comfortable with that.

Remember the focus of the blog pages: Table of Contents....listing stories in the Masterverse.

Frtoaster has warned me to slow down on this blog thing before I burn out on it.
And if he can see it coming just from reading my e-mails....yeah....there might be a problemo.

I am going to have to prioritize some of these ideas I am coming up with.

With that said: Making sure I get all the story links done is probably most important.

Holy cripes!!! I need to get used to talking to writers. I keep forgetting you guys get a topic and you will RUN with it. LOL! Will try to be more specific from now on.

How would I explain what I am looking for... ever seen someone's discharge papers from the military?? It is a "fill form".

What I mean by "profile" of the main characters you write about...stuff like: Name, faction, age, rank, occupation, time in grade, or career highlights. Oh and ship they were commanding, of course!

Very short. It will be in the format of a fill form, right next to a small picture. Remember main focus of the entire web page and blog is: links to the stories.

And I am NO WHERE NEAR asking you to write complete dossiers on individual characters....similar to a character sheet for a Wiki, yet. Not. Even. Close.

    First things first.

We need a timeline of events in the Masterverse, which we will have once the stories themselves are in the right order.

BUT STILL HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO to get to that point!! I have to find them all first.

Also, why is no one using my e-mail address? Don't you know? ARC messaging is horrid and Vanilla's private messages isn't much better.

OOPs... The Timeline did NOT disappear from Blogger.
I just changed the BLOG ADDRESS to something that made more sense.

Yup, the blog is now using the address: "Masterverse STO Fanfic".

Change all your bookmarks to: https://masterversestofanfic.blogspot.com/

I did this after reading how Google searches for "stuff" on the internet.
And who search for "Where2 Notes"??? LOL!

    ++++++++++++++++

Additionally....I do not have to point the links to the STO Forums.

If you have replaced missing punctuation, fixed cut off chapter endings, or rewrote any of them to make them all whole and mesh together, again.

And you have them posted to "the cloud" somewhere and shared to the public....I can use that public link, instead.

This way people can read your whole story...since you can't edit the old Forum posts any more or add length to them, anyways. That will activate that Necro rule.

Heard back from TrekFic subreddit... Not interested in blogs. Which is about what I was expecting.
Reason I asked them in the first place...I would have just got myself banned from Reddit. LOL!

I did study a bit more about Reddit...and it is more for creating communities that share similar ideas or interests....rather than self promotion of businesses or blogs or whatever. Hence the "Karma" and "up" and "down" voting system. That is, basically, to get rid of people who are not community minded and spamming stuff no one else wants to see.

The moderators at TrekFic subreddit are more than interested in YOUR STORIES (or links to your full novels saved on FanFiction.net or Google Docs...you can read their rules). You would have to make a Reddit account and "join" the TrekFic subreddit. Yeah, don't think they like the the links to the forums. Because your stories are broken into small pieces.

They, also, don't have literary challenges or anything like that....it is just strictly sharing stories they wrote on their own. (Which is fine by me because: I am reading, so I joined....won't be commenting though until I figure out this "Karma" thing on Reddit.)

    Hey Guys.....

I think I have found all of Knightraider6's and Patrickngo's and almost done with Marcusdkane's story lists. I have not started in on Ambassadormolari, Gulberat, Sander233, Starswordc, or Takeshi6.

Sander's created "Timeline" is a list of 118 stories. I am locating stories missing from that list.
Those missing stories could potentially double the number of titles that are inside that Timeline to over 200.

I would like to make a suggestion. Start a MASTERVERSE 2.
NEW STORIES you are writing NOW....and any OLD STORIES you are going to "retcon".

You can keep the characters that make it "Masterverse" but you will be able to be more flexible. And it will be much easier to streamline your retcons.

You won't have to worry about old, old stories having to be edited on the forums or deal with stuff that was move over from the old forums and necro rules. Matter of fact, you won't have to deal with editing those old forum posts at all.

You will be able to post all revisions and retcons as new Vanilla posts.

And, it will allow you to create a distinction between before and after Sander233 and all the changes that come from attrition or addition to contributing authors in the future.

And you will be able to bring Sander233's characters and storylines to conclusion as the ending of the Original MASTERVERSE.

Starswordc....listing stories up in a web page is not the issue that needs addressing.

The issues are: the vastness of the original Masterverse history of events, having to make edits to old posts, having no access to other people's forum posts, need to make adjustments to story line and accommodate changing author base.

I am saying: get together and decide: which stories make Masterverse what it is.....and build Masterverse 2 on top of that. In the end, things will be easier picking a baseline of characters and history....not having to adjust "things" to accommodate 200+ older stories. Stories written years ago.

It will preserve the original Masterverse work as it's own thing....with less rewriting (possibly even no re-writing of some content)....but allows flexibility with new Masterverse 2 content going forward.

Also, gets rid of a gigantic hurdle to adding new authors, or even guest authors who have may have an one and done inspiration from a current (or older) story, and having them join in.

OH wait! Are all the authors invited to post their stories up on the Categories page??? Just like Starswordc is doing?

    http://stexpanded.wikia.com/wiki/Category:The_War_of_the_Masters

Because if that is the case: I think I am done.

There are only 3 missing stories in the "Sander233 Timeline" and I have looked high and low for the stuff multiple times. I can't find it.

One story for Knighraider6 and two for Patrickngo....and I think they would have greater success locating it since they know their own works better than I do. I already gave them a complete list of stories I found in the forums, they just have to connect the dots.

I think you may even be able to cut and paste the link pages off the blogger page and use it in the WIKI without messing with re-doing the URLs.

And "Masterverse" is the Alternate Timeline to Starswordc's own "Bait and Switch" universe, now. I thought they were both stand alone!!!!! But you are going to merge them together???

So, that is a weird move...you guys are going to ADD that many more stories to THIS??? What a logistical nightmare. But whatever....if that is what you all decided. :) And I am happy you guys decided on a direction!

    Good Luck!!!

P.S. When you guys get done copying everything over from Drive and Blogger tell me so I can shut down that account. I don't need it.
