Another event fast approaching giving us yet another awesome FREE T6 ship. For some, they don't care, but for others, such as myself, I'm excited for it and will most certainly earn. As the time gets closer and closer, I think more and more about what the next ship will be. I always like to hear others opinions of what they hope and or think it will be, so let's hear it!
I'm pretty sure it will be a Vorgon ship, and likely wont be another small attack ship, and likely wont be a science ship considering we just got one... The Vorgon Battleship looks promising as this years free Summer Event ship.

For my secondary free to play only account, it would be nice if the Summer Event Ship is a cruiser for my Romulan engineer.
Personally I am also hoping they move off from the Breen ships for the winter event this year, and start to move into a new race even if that race were one created for just that event. With the Risian ships it worked quite well using a unique ship design from a world not known for building ships, so finding the devs giving us a winter event ship based on a rae that is quite well linked with the cold like the Andorians might go well.
If those came about, it would likely be a C-Store ship as the first ones were. Personally, I'm sick of seeing tactical oriented ships. As a strictly sci and engi captain, I have zero use for those overly vulnerable, low hull, low shield multiplier ships, and I have no desire to pump out 400k+ DPS ending queues in 2 minutes or less.... that's just me though. However, I love the style of the Vorgon Battleship, so we'll see.
Even if they are awesome, Tier 6 Andorian Escorts won't be available as a Summer Event ship. If they are ever released, then it will be as another C-Store ship.
Personally, I am half expecting that the Summer Event ship will be one of the runner ups from the Lukari Ship contest due to each contestant being completely unique. So they can be used for any new alien race that Cryptic comes up with.
Team Charlie and Team Echo are the runner ups and personally I rather have Team Charlie over Team Echo. Also, July 8 is the 70th Anniversary of the Roswell Incident. Having a flying saucer for the Summer Event would certainly be the appropriate way to celebrate when Quark and Odo visited the 20th Century. The Roswell UFO (Ferengi Na'Far shuttle) is already available in the game and flying saucers has been the most standard form of UFOs.

I could see the andorian ships. Though with a cruiser I doubt they would use the wing cannons specifically on them as their console (though usable on them most likely). It would be interesting to see what might come of such a ship.

True, but that definitely wont be released during the Summer Event, I would be shocked if it were. I am looking forward to it though that's for sure. I have all the others except the Dread, I missed that winter and I'm very upset about it lol.

Agreed. All ships that I have seen that use that ship design are rotated 90 degrees.
The Winter Event has always been Breen ships and it is getting oversaturated. The same can be said about Jem'Hadar ships and Elachi ships. There are 5 Breen ships, 6 Elachi ships, and 7 Jem'Hadar ships. So just because they did a Tier 6 Breen Revamp doesn't mean that there will be a Tier 6 Risian Corvette or Luxury Cruiser.
However, more Risian ships are always welcome. Especially, if the Tier 6 Luxury Cruiser comes with its own interior. There is nothing more luxurious than having an island on a starship.
How about this... can we hold off the speculation till we get somewhat close to the event time? This thread will be dead and gone by the time we get close!
Issue with that is the ship design,and even is in development long before that point. So if you want to get any amount of push behind a ship or style behind the upcoming event you need to start earlier. It is like making suggestions the last week or two that the ptr is up before the patch goes live. Same thing here you need to make suggestions earlier to give them time to take notice of them, and then actually get to work.
Another good example is like I have suggested that a halloween like event featuring races engineered by the Hur'q would be quite interesting to play in sto. Yet that kind of developement takes months if not a full year to design, and then implement. You also have alot of content already in developement so getting things on the dev;s mind early allows them to find place in the dev time to actually do it if they choose to.
I'm not even trying to make or get suggestions. I just want to hear peoples thoughts and wishes. Personally, I don't care what ship it is, it will be another admirality card, and hopefully something i'll consider using in the future. As for the other guy, we're only about a month away, a little more, but again, this isn't about pushing a ship out, or hoping the devs are listening, I just want to know what people want and what they think it'll be. Funny thing is, I've been doing this type of thread every event for the past three years across two accounts, and I always do it about 1-2 months before the event, just to hear TRIBBLE, it's not about you, get over yourself.
Risan Sci Ship trait should involve gravity manipulation in some way. I might suggest a Graviton Beam, possibly a deflector-enhanced ability, that, rather than shield drain or hit point damage, reduces the target's structural integrity, thus slowing healing and increasing the damage done to the target.
That would be my guess.
Though I could see them releasing another Vorgon ship, or a Tier 6 update for the existing Risan ships.
I would however still prefer a Risan Science Vessel Submarine.
Summer wise I'd say it's clearly gonna be either the Vorgon cruiser or a T6 version of the corvette or cruise liner.
My money is on the cruiser, using the evidence of the treasure hunt last year having plans for the thing being found.
I'd personally like to see more ferengi for summer. Or a new risian design. The vorgon ships are weird and rehashing old T5 ships is boring as hell.
Those are more suggestions than evidence (pheonix box came with a lot of ships). We should probably keep in mind that there's still 2 Vorgon ships that need releasing. In the Foundry, they are customizable and have detail appropriate for close up (ie. playable) viewing. I wouldn't be surprised if this has 2017 and 2018 Risa covered.
