Note to self: Find OP's toon and deploy Disco Ball near it.

I got hit with one of those the other night -- loved it

Somebody was blowing stuff up inside Paradise City on Nimbus III on the console earlier this evening, while I was making my final (thank the Maker!) visit to Horace Jones. It became apparent because there was some minor screen shaking while I was talking to him; when I turned around, I saw the blasted areas.

On the other tentacle, it didn't hinder anything. I talked to Jones, I collected my rewards, I looked at the mess behind me trying to figure out what the frak was going on, and I beamed up to my ship and went to ferry a Trill scientist to Starbase 39 to start the Romulan Mystery arc. No fuss, no foul. If people want to pretend they're blowing each other up on the Planet of Galactic Peace, well, that's no more ironic than anything else going on there, and they're incapable of harming me. It's about as bothersome as the folks who insist on dueling right in front of Defender in CO (seriously, though, what's up with that? Do they think it's some kind of job interview, and the Champions will hire whoever impresses the boss?).

You miscapitalized Devs. Some punctuation missing there as well.

All in all a fine example of Rule of Acquisition 239.

It's possible for someone to lay down one of those Super Golden Crisp Cereal engineer shields in front of the entrance to Paradise City on Nimbus III and block ingress and egress. You can always run around to the back, but it's still very annoying. You could probably be blocked into the transporter room on ESD by something like that.

Honestly if I'm on a social map, doffing, chatting, using the exchange or whatever it really doesnt bother me much. I have a nullifier so again I dance when I choose.
It doesn't generally impede whatever it is I'm trying to do so I maybe glance at it, think "meh" and carry on doing what I was doing.
Sometimes if I'm having a player to player chat I'll move out of the area so as not to be constantly disturbed with explosions and wotnot. If they follow me I then get irked.
The only time it's really bothered me recently was during Omega farming, now that did annoy me, but it wasnt often.
And given the often jerky motion of the game at the best of times I didn't cry too hard, but in this instance I can often see the cause of the inconvenience in the player letting off all the doodads as opposed to an annoying game quirk.

Edit: In the time I've played this game I think I've maybe made four player reports for unpleasant behaviour. There's much the ignore function can do, little that requires the attention of a mod directly.
There are exceptions though of course.

LOL, not all orionians are green, there is 4 species of them.
Green big guys and spellbinding women
"Red/Gold" orionians with blond/red hairs, usaully high caste class or royality
blue orionians as seen on Star trek cartoon in 1970's, foot soldiers, "cannon fodders" for green orionian slavemasters.
and 4th is "Feral", rare species, nearly hunted down to extinction, most dangerous of all. only few on isolated islands.

There seems to be a number of people also afflicted with hyperactivity in the game. Every day in the Winter Wonderland during the Winter Event some poor souls ran around in circles on top of the center console area by Q like they were chasing their tails. I know they couldn't help themselves. Sad, very sad.

The last few days a few others ran around hopping and running in circles around the entirety of the ESD Banking/Exchange/Mail area on top of counters and consoles. The sadness I experienced for these poor people was overwhelming. They probably could not afford a Health Insurance plan that could cover their needed treatments. :'(

nope, Repe, i do have a book on orionians and few books for other aliens.
orionians really do have 4 races, like earth people have several ethnic races, also i am charter member of starfleet that handled sci-fi cons.
i can prove it, but now, i am out of town at this time to link a book and pics as soon i get home by tuesday.

    i didnt say bleached white.

or you can look up on Bing.com and they have several and may lead you to find a book in hurry or wait til i get back. just type orionians.

Well, since placing an article like 'the' in front of 'developers' means it is not a Proper Noun, so you are correct and I apologize.

Ah, okay. That line is said many times in the Dragon Age games, which is another favorite I like to play.

Please put an end to the morons constantly setting off mines, grenades, pattern enhancers, etc. in the common non-battle areas; and otherwise abusing their captain's powers to block things and/or harass other players.

    That is all, thank you.

There is always a cry baby. OP is defintly one. News for you OP Mines, Grenades, and Weapons are DISABLED in common areas. So ya learn the game. I think you may be confucing party packs and the noise makers THAT ARE NOT CAPTAINS POWERS! In the mean time grow a pair.

Reading comprehension is fundamental, squid. Spelling is, too.

And I love it how bullies like you can dish it out but not take it.

You didn't have to be a d-bag with your reply, but you were. Plus, your info is sadly mistaken - just read the other posts to see lots of these things are used to grief players, captains powers included. Maybe you should follow you own advice - grow a pair & stop making excuses.

    Oh, and learn the game.

"Risans" or "Risians" gets stuck in my craw, too. The former is correct, but the latter is what is universally used. The Planet is question is Risa, not Risia, so there's an exta i being added incorrectly.

Languages are full of exceptions. There's no rule stating that one should just add -an to the name of the planet. See Bolarus IX and the Bolians as just one example.

Honestly there's nothing wrong with giving people the power to make Orion's a colour other than green, think of it as Orion's bleaching their skin like human's can.

In the 24the century cosmetics are that advanced you can have any colour. You just drink some stuff and the next day you are green, blue, black, anything. People will use it a lot, I predict. Cryptic should give the alien colour palette to all species.

You can also be invisible. Not from a potion but by some device. Cryptic destroyed invisibilty for tacs, as I have heard. I used it never. They should however give invisibility to all classes. It should be non-combat and when you come out of stealth you do less damage for a couple of seconds, because the transition makes you dizzy.
