((shrug)) Its optional. You'd never have to use the option, but for many, it would be an incentive to actually participate in the market.
Ok. I sell you a bookcase but you have no choice but to stack my choice of books. I sell you a car but only if you drive it to my favorite church. I sell you a backpack that can only carry non-GMO dairy products.
Maybe I just sell you something. You be creative and do what you want with it. Maybe your bookcase becomes an art project that shows up in an art museum. Maybe your car finds a new way to be automated and make it possible for the disabled drive themselves to work. Maybe my back[ack smuggles in food to Syrian refugees.
Am I using a big shovel? Of course. But look at where this conversation started.
I really can't even bring myself to be soft on this topic. Get in the market or don't. Forget it, I can't be nice. Grow up or drop out. This is a product built on capitalism.
Don't like it, go make your own awesome giveaway thing on your dollar. Your dollar. It's been tried and guess what - a perpetuating system has to take in as well as give out.
Don't like the terms of a TAGH item? Don't buy it. So exactly who needs to grow up?
Soft? You could hardly be softer. What are you afraid of? That someone out there might put more product up on the market, knowing it's not going to go straight into the hands of a flipper? That there might actually be MORE commerce? 'Cause man, that is terrifying.
He likely didn't read it and doesn't understand that it defines the terms under which he uses something he purchased.
And he likely never brought a house or other property that also comes with terms that defines what he may or may not do with the property and what may or may not be built on it and under what conditions.
Maybe he just refuses to see how real life works. Or may he wants an escape from real life responsibilities and seeks it in a game who's EULA imposes them anyway. Or perhaps he just doesn't notice how things work.
People lie to themselves in many ways- by omission, ignorance, mistake, or intent.
well anyway i think we will find out with the T6 Connie , as soon as it was mentioned and released in the R&D pack i knew it was gonna be a rich boys toy , both ingame and RL rich boys toy since it would take a heft wallet to get one both in USD and EC.
I bought a house, living in it right now, the only limitations on what I may or may not do with/to it are defined by the city I live in (and are quite small) & have nothing at all to do with the seller. Same for my car, just about the only things I was required to do was get insurance & license plates & those were required by the state not the seller.
That may or may not be true depending upon where the house is (but you mentioned city limits so I'm doubtful) and if you actually read your paper work. I'd bet that you didn't because that is depressingly common. Also what you think is city requirements generally aren't- but are instead original housing requirements started by the original builder who seeks a image for the homes he's built and is offering for sale.
Another common limit is the fact that mineral rights for your property aren't owned by you. So if they found oil under you house- you're out of luck getting money out of it unless they have to have extraction equipment on your little bit of land.
Welcome to the real world. You should check it out now and then.
Lol no I have the entire 1 page contract for sale of my home right here.
1 page huh.
Unless this is outside the US, and outside any city of significant size- I don't believe you. It's not a nice thing to lie just to try and win points on a gaming board.
Well I do and we don't accuse people of lying on these gaming boards. In the US.

Sorry, I don't believe him. Even a transfer inside a family requires more than 1 page, and even at 1 page would still assume all restrictions from any previous formal agreement. You can't 1 page your way out of things like that.
I will take back the statement he's lying however, as he may be simply ignorant.
I don't really see what everyone is wasting time with. Seems like the real issue here is inflation and a poorly implemented market. Just started playing, on console, and it's been a long time since I've seen a game with such a lackadaisical setup. When you can buy out an entire selection of "whatever" with no fees for relisting 100x or selling it's a flipper's paradise. Tackle those issues instead of each other and you'll be happier.
Also add in some EC sinks greater than Tour of the Galaxy pays out. Also doesn't help that the more alts you have the quicker you can inflate things to your benefit. It's just set to milk you guys with inflation.
This reminds me of people who are rude to restaurant waiters. Because its their money and if the waiter wants a tip they'd better earn it.
as far as tips is concerned ive worked in resturants and have sisters who were waitresses , so it comes down to service and attitude if the waiter/waitress is a TRIBBLE then no , no tip , but if they treat me like a valued costumer with dignity and respect then absolutley and i can be a nice tipper
How is that worse than what we have? I'm quite content raising the market prices on console each day but seems like either a selling or relisting fee would stop some of the easy abuse that goes on.
I'm ok with the TAGH concept. It's optional (seller's choice to list it as such and buyer's choice to buy it knowing he can't resell) so I see no problem with it. It opens up a way for people to sell things for cheap to people who actually want the item.
I've bought a couple of real-life TAGH items in the past. For example, I bought an R/C helicopter for a very cheap price. It was originally a father and son project but the owner's father passed away and he wanted to see it fly rather than be sold for parts (because it was a discontinued model whose parts are hard to come by) so I bought it from him and rebuilt it. I still own it (7 years later). I've also bought some vehicle parts for cheap so long as I'd use them.
Nothing wrong with TAGH. I don't see why some people are making a fuss over it.
Sure, it's just a word. Let's say the easy manipulation of the market or exchange pvp then. I'm curious about your earlier response and was honestly asking how that would be worse than our current system. For example, keys on console. If you're selling at 1.2 and someone lists at 1.1 you just buy and resell immediately. Profit. If someone undercuts on a slower item you just immediately relist below theirs for free. It's pretty straightforward and easy to take advantage of vs a 10% fee making some flips not worth the effort and allowing the market to have 10% or whatever to swing with.
Are there any large EC sinks on PC that removes some currency from circulation or anything akin? It seems like 1B+ ships are unavoidable because unless the market is saturated with an item it's just flipped as high as possible since it's pure profit. Any EC needed for dailies is overshadowed by Tour at least, especially across multiple alts. I hear DOFFing across 50+ characters is also insanely profitable of course.
As I said, whatever is fine. I've purchased over 200 keys with EC since console came out and had a lot of fun learning this game. I just don't see how the current system isn't inflation hungry as hell or why a small fee/removing some currency would be worse than nothing at all. Obviously, the more inflation the more money they make but as players what would be the "healthiest" system for us? The TAGH system works for ensuring that you make a player's day but it doesn't address the inflation or flipping that the other posters seemed to be annoyed with.
This reminds me of people who are rude to restaurant waiters. Because its their money and if the waiter wants a tip they'd better earn it.

I tip always. Even if the waiter had a bad day. Restaurants and retail pay miserable wages, and some restaurants don't even pay a pathetic minimum wage (which no one can live on these days, anyway ), so I always tip. Gotta help someone out whenever one can is my motto. And from what I see of customers in restaurants and retail, they can be quite rude and nasty themselves...and I don't care if you are paying, just cause ya pay gives you no right to be a smeghead.
And to me, hording the packs is kinda like holding onto the last barrel of oil to see folk kill each other over it,as it were.
Alright, thanks for the response and breaking down the prices over the last couple years. Console doesn't have as much going on so it's pretty cutthroat over the few items of value, albeit extremely profitable, and reading the other posts it seemed like the inflation/flipping was much worse than it is on pc. Appreciate the info.
How is that worse than what we have? I'm quite content raising the market prices on console each day but seems like either a selling or relisting fee would stop some of the easy abuse that goes on.
Like the EC Cap on the Exchange pricing and individual characters, this only slows inflation- not stops it.
Even EVE Online, which not only has selling fee but which actively destroys player wealth (you lost the ship and everything on it if it is ever destroyed - one example: http://gameological.com/2013/07/eve-online-big-ship-oops/) still has inflation.
That said, slower inflation is better than rapid inflation. And open exchange markets are better than grey markets. Thus I'd like to see listing fees on the exchange and 'gift' fees on player to player trades. And the amount of these fees should be progressive (i.e. a larger % of the value the most expensive the item).
That still wouldn't stop inflation, but it would reduce it buy reducing the currency supply growth rate.
