Anyone got a current price on the packs and the ship?

Somewhere between "Mommmmmmmm! I need your credit card again!" and "Don't touch me, lowly space bum in your lowly ship!"

Probably to the point where one wants to do this to those hoarding them.

I speculate the price may drop shortly. Whatever ships can be unlocked through the K-17 fleet facility may quench some of that 23c thirst.

Why would you imagine it would unlock TOS ships, rather than just BOFFs, DOFFs, and tech? Did some info slip on a podcast or some other source?

Sort of. One of the official pics of the interior apparently has a Shipyard NPC.

But as far as I could tell all the recently released C-Store ships already have Fleet versions.

They are not going to make Fleet Versions of any T5/T5U ships at this stage so vessels like the D'Kyr are out.

No, what that means is new ships are going to be released in the C-Store and that won't be Fleet grade to begin with. Now that's where you could get your T6 Nova, D'Kyr, Sovereign and the like. Maybe additional cross-faction three-packs.

This does not negate a possible release of three or nine packs of Fleet grade ships, but they need the others if they are going to add new stock in the Fleet Store.

The TOS connie being the most wanted ship since launch if they dont release it again in atleast a year it will easily become a 3 billion EC ship if not more.

fleet holdings dont typically have new ships just fleet versions of other ships.

so take a look at the c-store and look for ships that dont have fleet version but could have fleet version, and there you go
Why would a 200 year old station have moth-balled ships from the future? Does not seem to be thematically appropriate, based on what was presented in the blog.

It could be just a ship selector NPC. It could be an indication that TOS styled, Fleet-grade ships are coming. When Fleet holdings were first introduced, Cryptic did take several lower-tier ships (some of them not from the Z-store) and make them available for 200,000 Fleet Credits. Then implemented a "Fleet" grade version for 4 modules + 20,000 Fleet Credits. On the other hand, Cryptic may have a small selection of TOS themed ships they plan to release when K-13 goes live. Get the Z-store version; get a discount on buying the Fleet version, that sort of thing.

To go with the theme of the blog ...

You discover this old station. It's got no ships mothballed at all. You, and your temporal buddies in your fleet, do your temporal thang! Get that station up to snuff! So now it's a perfectly awesome 25th century station, offering 25th century ships in its ship selector, but it looks oh so retro!

In-game mechanics: T0 station has no ship offerings. T3, after building it up, offers whatever it is the blog is teasing.

To a degree we already have this admittedly only for AoY captains. I don't have much appreciation for the Enterprise-J and by extension the 26th century derivatives but the addition of 23rd century skins had me fielding them without hesitation. I didn't read anything indicating the possibility of a 23rd century naval yard or ships (apart from an, "improved core options") but if associated costumes were up for grabs as supplemental skins for whatever ships might be undergoing standard release by way of the c-store (particularly c-store Klingon ships :) ) I'd be ecstatic; Not that anyone would care but it would influence me to make a c-store purchase and then redeem the appropriate costume from the fleet holding.

On the main topic it's not a TOS Connie; Mines a D7. It's beautiful. Without even formalizing a build it is a Hendrix or Morrison among Beibers. It cost me a fair sum in trade but it was worth it. If the price goes up because of exclusivity so much the better I already have it. If the price tanks that's good too. More people who know playing with toys is better than calling them collectibles and keeping them in boxes will be having fun with them too. If that's the case maybe I get something nice for one of my Feds.

I fly those skins on every ship I can, and that covers a lot of my alts who are not AoY captains.

The skin swapping was the thing that Cryptic did that sold me on the full AoY package back when it was announced. If the new K-13 station incorporates more of that somehow? That'd be sooooo sweeeeeeet!

TOS style fleet ships already exist. The temporal ships all have fleet versions and can use the TOS skins from the lower level versions.

To those guys hoarding the T6 promo packs:

Those folks who wanted the ships, and either been able to afford your CRAZY STUPID prices, or been of those lucky enough to win them.....HAS them, now.

Those who have not been able to either won't be able to pay your CRAZY STUPID prices, or who are unable, or unwilling, to buy any more RD packs. (I know folks who spent over 300 dollars, cash, in the hopes to get at least one of the T6 TOS ships...but even 300 dollars, they were not able to) They are either totally spent ( on both EC, not to mention drive....RNG fairness my butt ), or have been so disgusted with the greed of some of you folks ( it's like having an entire game community consisting of comic book guy clones from The Simpsons ), they they are going to pretty much tell you where you can go stick your T6 promo packs.....

    .....one corner at a time.

My advice to you....either stop trying to sell them, or lower your prices......I seen someone on the Club Noob chat channel spamming a TOS T6 pack offer for like a BILLION.....AND lock box keys, or other ships in ADDITION to a that aforementioned BILLION. One person, and rightfully so, offered a few hundred million less, like 900 milion (which is still crazy stupid in my opinion) and the 2 of them were arguing like 2 middle aged ladies at the hair salon or something.

Quit acting like a Wall Street jerk, I say, if you wanna sell these things anytime soon.

They sell only for what people are paying. You don't set the price - the person willing to pay the most does.

Depends. Most of the eye glasses made these day are all from the same company monopolizing things, and they set the over inflated prices. Or those rat fink drug companies putting out their pills for extortionist prices. They simply want MORE money...or EC in this case. Supply and demand, these days, are not so much the reason for things, as is "WE WANT MORE MONEY!" these days.....corporations and bankers do this all the time.

To me, those dangling the carrot in your face sets the prices, in my opinion.

And, should I get lucky enough to actually acquire some of these T6 packs, just to annoy the hell out of the horders, I'll eihersell em half price, or just give em away.

And if you time it right you'll end up selling them TO 'the horders' who will cheerfully put them aside and sell them at the price they always intended and thank you for the easy profit.

The system is very simple: everyone gets in a line by what they're willing to pay. As sellers get antsy, they work their way down that line. But if someone new comes along or someone already in line decides they're willing to pay more, those people move to the front of the line.

If you want one of these things, the sellers aren't the enemy -- they spent real money (in most cases) putting those items into the system at all. Without them, you wouldn't even have the choice. Your opponent in these games is the other people who want them more than you. Because they're the only ones who can cause a transaction to go through and the sellers listen to them quite closely...

I'll give them to friends and fellow fleet mates.

To those guys hoarding the T6 promo packs:

There are people who play STO (and every MMO for that matter) whose entire reason for playing is making fake in-game money. It's their joy in life, their PvP vs. the rest of the server population. They likely are also some of the most active (measure in time logged into the game) players around. So MMO designers bend over backwards for them.

And yes, they inflate prices. They buy up lower price items, gather a significant supply and then resell at higher prices. Those people who sold a ship at reason cost to someone they didn't know- likely fed one of these guys.

That process was almost certainly done to a huge degree with this promo pack which is why you see the same people selling pack after pack.

Some of them made a killing.

I consider them a fact of life, like say cancer that bleeds some of the joy out of the MMO. And I avoid anything in the grey market (i.e. above the exchange cap) for its there that their influence is greatest.

Nothing wrong with that. You might take someone out of the potential pool of buyers, but no seller is going to cry over it.

In MANY MMOs now I've suggest a "to a good home" option - the ability to flag an item you with to post as "to a good home"... which causes the item to become account bound on pickup for the purchaser. Poof - no flipping/reselling if you buy a TAGH item. Sadly all the game economists I've spoken to about the idea get really upset that there might be people participating in their economies who actually value the enjoyment of other players over profit.

I have one. I don't even particularly want it. But I do want a sheshar and I'd like to put the difference towards some of the other Elachi ships so I can pile on all the consoles when I finally take the beast out of space dock. The T6 TOS box is gonna have to climb a bit higher before I can hit that goal. Sorry my dreams are so much more filthy that yours. But then again I took the risk and it paid off. The lesson people always seem to miss is that when you buy someone else's risk you WILL pay a premium for it.
