not usually one to rage but yeah this is kinda BS, I pucked up a lifetime sub to STO even after it had gone F2P to show my support AND I tend to get the large packs they release prior to big expansions like Detla Rising and Romulans as well to continue that support, got the Temporal Agent pack already, was disappointed by the lack of any sort of T6 future refit of the Connie but shrugged it off as the old annoying no Constitution classes in this century thing, it a shame but whatever
aaaand now this... oh we can't have a T6 Connie, UNLESS you throw even more money at us for a lockbox then you can get the Kelvin one, not usually one to jump on the lockbox hate bandwagon, in fact I'm fairly tolerant over all, but putting a ship people have wanted for YEARS likely since this game launched only into a lockbox is just pushing it too far, no cstore option, nothing in the temporal agent pack, nothing on the Vet reward program...
yeah I think it's safe to say next time one of these big packs comes out I think I'll be saving my money
Ok, T6 Connie is a lockbox so its rare, ok. Please tell me theres a T1-4 C Store JJ Prize coming too. You guys are fools if you dont make a C store version right when this expansion comes out. I plunked down $50 into the game yesterday banking on a C store JJ Prize coming. That money sure isnt going into lickbox gambling.
Yeah I grabbed a bunch of zen yesterday too in the 15% bonus period in the hope the Kelvin Constitution might be C-Store. Never mind. It does make sense that these would be very rare in the prime universe, so canon-wise I don't mind it being lockbox, but the ship geek in me is bummed I can't grab it from the store. I'm not going to start buying keys to try get one.
Guess I'm hanging onto the zen to see what comes down the line.
Examination of the time-lost salvage taken from the Kelvin Timeline reveals that the Federation of that reality had a decidedly higher emphasis on military technologies, likely as a direct result of their overwhelming defeat at the hands of the alien vessel that invaded their space in the 23rd Century. The same has shown to be true of the Klingon and Romulan ships of that time. This emphasis on cutting-edge technology allows their starships and equipment to be comparable with our own in the early 25th Century, despite technically being hundreds of years old.
Nobody ever bugged them from a Mirror Universe. They never had to face a joint Breen/Cardassian/Dominion armada. They never faced the Undine. They never encountered the Borg (well aside from the Borg tech that was installed on the Narada after the Hobus nova -- which probably counts as ancient when compared to 2410-Borg tech). They never encountered the Voth. Never discovered a single dyson sphere. They never had to face an Undine invasion. They NEVER fought the Iconians. They never faced a group of Na'kuhl fanatics who blamed us for the actions of the Tholians and tried to erase us from time itself.
Each of these incidents (and I bet others could tell so much more) pushed Prime Universe R&D to greater and greater heights, for the sake of survival. They only faced an antiquated mining ship with antiquated Borg tech.
Put them through the same we went through, and THEN we can talk about comparing their ships to ours.
Personally, if we were to classify those fossils with 2410's ship performance standards I wouldn't put any of those ships over T5.
Well to be fair, our player ships are probably decades ahead of standard-issue. Remember, our ships have bleeding-edge technology that isn't distributed to the rest of the fleet.
Anyway, I don't think the Borg have progressed that far between 2387 and 2410. And nobody said that the Narada was antique, did they?
Your father was captain of a starship for twelve minutes. He saved 800 lives, including your mother's, and yours.
I also would like to salute Cryptic on making the perfect storm of player outrage.
A T6 connie, BUT it's the one from the Kelvin Timeline, AND it's Lockbox only.
This is truly the magnum opus of trolling the playerbase. You need to give yourselves a massive pat on the back.
I was looking foreword to Agents of Yesterday. Not playing it now. I am straight up done with this game, you want my money, put the ship up for sale. If its too expensive, or not worth it, I wont buy it. But I am not GAMBLING to get it. I HATE the lock box system. And I don't give a DAMN about rarity when you have people flying around in Iconian ships etc.. This is ALMOST as bad as playing through 3 games of Mass Effect with developers crowing about how great choice is, then killing you no matter what you do in the last 5 minutes of the game. I am so finished with this game. Good luck everyone.
I'm secretly hoping that the Klingon Warbird which was never shown on screen but looks like a very cool K'tinga upgrade will be offered at some point. Perhaps Cryptic will consider putting this in a lockbox also.

Kelvin Lockbox II! Kelvin K'tinga, USS Franklin, Krall Swarm ship fighters/boarding party shuttles combo, NuJJ-Prize from Beyond, female uniforms WITH SLEEVES, awesome jackets, Sulu's retractable katana and Kelvin EV suits!
It doesn't seem like there are many devs who are really costume fans. This is another lockbox/lobi release that will keep the space barbie players unhappy. I know I usually spend as much time in the tailor as anything else and run multiple alts just to see different crews. Only speaking of course from personal experience I know I've spent less time in game since these new fantastic uniform designs (kuddos to the artists) like the mirror universe, risa, and now the kelvin have been locked behind single character unlocks.

Just my 2ec but I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Costumes don't bring in the cash like pew-pew stuff. Simple as that.

LOL no. Everything on that page looks absolutely horrendous. Especially what little KDF items are available. and virtually everything tied into the lockbox in some way? .
Eh, are you insane? That's a lockbox raider with full pilot seating, it's what Klingon players have been screaming for (and if they weren't, they do not deserve to be called Klingon players).
Take a look at my icon to guess my view of this stuff...
What they don't say, but has been discovered by data miners, is that there is a secret prize, a weapon marked as "Rhianna's Sledgehammer" It deals 300 metaphorical damage.

How much damage does Peter Gabriel's do, then?
I'm not sure, but I've heard it's only available on Steam.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.

You know you never HAVE to gamble for any ship in the game, right? If you want to buy it outright, buy and sell keys. Then buy the ship on the Exchange.. .
you should stop with this idea to sell keys for ec; because the real price in $ € etc is just ridiculous. the price of these ships will be around 400, 600 millions ec.
10 euros for 10 keys (each key at 7mil ec - yesterday price-) = 70 mil ec
the real cost is around 80 euros for 1 ship (only if the key price is at 7mil).
I'm looking forward to this. With the "great market crash of 2016" I hope none of the ships won't be more than around 200mill. Also can a dev confirm if the rom carrier indeed has ONLY 1 hangar bay. If so, well, TRIBBLE and if someone just made a mistake please execute the person for incompetence.

There ya go!
Well, it's half the amount of hangars to a ship from a half faction.

no ship is worth 80/90/100 euros.
You've obviously never backed Star Citizen.
indeed, because the prices are totally ridiculous for virtual stuff.
I see what you did there Cryptic.
