wow she looks grand, any idea what tier it is though ??

    Tier 6, 11 console.

I wonder how all the people who have been wanting a T6 Connie are taking this...

Yeah, that's a good question. The design was overall very polarizing and there were enough people who were very vocally about that.
I expect to see a lot of T6 prime-connie threads in the future.

It looks better than I'd have expected, but those ridoncolous nacelles are a huge turn off. The saucer and belly are rather nice, though. But if it is really that big It'd be silly, another huge supercruiser, of course...

i matched my excel up against that jjcrapverse connie and they looked around the same size.

    silly thing is that the excel is: 511m L, 195m W, 86m H
the jjcrapverse connie is a bit larger than the excel in every area.

Changed my mind. Not rising to the bait. Just going to enjoy that it's big, that CBS and Paramount both have to have signed off on it being big in an official licensed product, and that the Vengeance will be even bigger.

So it's somewhere between Ambassador and Excelsior. That's not too bad, although still too big for the model in my opinion.

at least it isnt over 1000m L and 300m W and 150m H. it would look silly tbh.

Yah since chronologically the TOS Enterprise and JJ Enterprise are the same age that argument cant be used anymore. Even though its a game people still talk TRIBBLE like "its a 200-300 year old ship it wouldnt make sense to have it in the 2400's". Its a bunch of pixels!!! the devs can make a refrigerator in space with some warp nacelles make sense if they knew it would sell. Well now we have the JJ-prise what about TOS-prise? or is CBS or whoever still going to stand by their of not wanting to make it a T6 still because its still too much of an iconic ship. Or whatever their official reason is.

Except the KT Enterprise comes from ~25 years after studying a 2400s ship. It's design pedigree is basically spot on to be a 'modern day' ship for STO, much like the two Tal Shiar Adapted ships we have in game now.

The "reverse engineering" thing strikes me as a stretch, though. I mean, what does "scanning a ship" mean. Even in TNG, the magic scanner can tell hull material, energy source, armament, life forms on board, but I highly doubt a early 23rd century short scan holds enough data to create super advanced ships from.

I love how the size of this ship is an issue. And the discussions... almost as if it was a real thing ;).

Anyway - big or not, I love it. I will continue using TOS Connie as T1, and hopefully be able to use Kelvin Timeline Connie as a T6. This will be epic!

    (...)

That's because it's some people's hobby to do that. It's irrelevant if it's a real thing or not, discussing this is simply fun. Just letting everything run wild because "it's not real anyway" doesn't sit well with fans of something because there are fans of this something for a reason. pig-3.gif

Eh, knowing something can be done is a HUGE step towards doing it. 'Detect life forms aboard' is a pretty miraculous level of detail I'd say :). Its the exact same kind of grotesque overkill in 'narrative simplification' that gave us casual teleportation because shuttle scenes would be too expensive.

Either way, its seems clear enough within its own narrative that those scans did have enormous impact on the direction technology (and culture) took after that.

What an ugly crate. And totally oversized. But a K'Vort BoP is ridiculously oversized according to that ******* of a lead designer.

Detecting ships (or even planets) across light years is also an underappreciated feat, I think.

I think the biggest problem is with the "one scan did it" - the Kelvin blew up! It's astoundnig the recovered all that data. But maybe Star Trek black boxes are also a bit more advanced (and complete) then ours.

I've always wanted a T6 Connie. We've been constantly told no at every turn. This, in my opinion, is a good compromise. I'll fly this ship proudly.

I prefer modern up to date 25th century prime universe ships. Might try to get the ugly TRIBBLE vengeance if the trait is really that OP, but otherwise wont bother.

"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."

Khan: agreed. T6 connie. Ill frigging take what i can get heh. Half a dozen in one sic in the other a connie is a connie (even if it does look like it was layed on its side and had the nacelles smushed closer by a giant)

That or the data was on board the shuttles that escaped. It wasn't shown either way, but it makes sense.

Honestly, Star Trek, has shown continuous real time communication across half the radius of the galaxy. There's also dialogue in the movie that they're dumping everything they're seeing to the nearest Star Base as is happens.

They basically are uploading their scans to the cloud :).

When I was in the Navy one of my jobs was to collect all the ships data when we abandoned ship. I imagine that either someone downloaded the ships logs and sensors reading and jumped in a shuttle or the data is automatically downloaded to the shuttles when abandon ship is called.
We've seen in the prime universe movies that ships had flight recorders videoing everything. Hell they even had a recording of the Enterprise's last moments from Search for Spock shown during Voyage Home.
