I originally bought this through Cryptic, but now use it through Steam. Will the Temporal Agent Pack be available on Steam or do I have to revert to using ARC?
Both previous packs appeared on Steam about 1 week before release.
There isn’t a better way to continue to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Trek: The Original Series than by creating a Starfleet captain and engaging in some amazing adventures in that classic period.
Gonna disagree with you here, Mr. Ricossa. You know what would be an even better way to celebrate the 50th Anniversary?
Including TOS-era Romulans and TOS-era Klingons as playable captains in that classic period.
^^^
Have to agree here - although they probably considered it and didn't like the ROI for creating a 'Romulan Homewolrd/Capital zone' (and a non destroyed Romulus itself) for something most Romulan Captains wouldn't see past Level 10 (or 20 at best.) That said,I sure would have enjoyed it.

Seeing no reason to jump the "Temporal TOS" ships, but they are good candidates for future ship giveaways. I might look into the T6 ones though. The Sagittarius and the Paladin to be specific; depends on their (as of yet unreleased) stats.

I will not be so excited like many other players from Everything old is new etc. expansion. Although I looked forward to the Cardassians, but this is not too bad. I will see how I pull my old D-7 from the garage (hail Axanar!) and shooting all these new oldschool feddy boats.
TOS, Phase II, Continues or TAS are not my favourites (except first movie)
You sound lie me with regard to Delta Rising. I've been watching Star Trek first run since 1969 (yes, I know it started in 1966 - but I personally didn't see my first episode until I was 6 - in 1969) - and Star Trek: Voyager is the ONLY Star Trek series I gave up watching due to what I considered awful writing (especially when it came to Janeway who seemed to be written Bipolar.) I gave up on VOY after 'The 37's' as I couldn't believe that they wrote not a single one of the dissatisfied Maqui crewmembers would want to stay on a pretty much copy of Earth considering they were facing a 70 year voyage, with a prison cell at the end. Not to mention how they wrote the Amelia Earhart character.
Anyway, I still detest ST:VOY - yet here was Delta Rising; a full Expansion based on that series with a majority of it's original cast members providing VO. <-- My response DR to this day is 'Meh'. So, I get it. That said, different strokes for different folks.

Has no one on this board been through an expansion before? New Story till about level 20 give or take, then you get folded in to the main story. This is not rocket science.
Very "meh" announcement for me. I have no interest in rolling up another fed character, with slightly different aesthetics. Really, if you aren't super into TOS to the point that already existing uniforms and ships aren't enough, this announcement just reads "You won't care about this game all summer because we've decided to cater to one small subset of the player base".
Impending response: "But this is only the first announcement, and you haven't even tried it yet?! How can you judge something based solely on the initial announcement?""
My rebuttal: "Because I can only judge anything based upon information I do have, not information I don't. If they announce something later, I'll revise my opinion. It's ridiculous though to form an opinion based on things they might, maybe, announce in the future. Yes, I'll give it a try when it comes out, but making good video games is hard. Most games and expansions in general fail to get me all that interested, so the assumption is "it's meh until they prove it isn't" not "I'll be blindly excited until I get disappointed from arbitrarily high expectations."
J.J. Abrams- Suckering people into loving moronic stories by excessive use of shiny things since 1998.
Does Chris Doohan have the same accent as his father had? In that case, this is going to be even more awesome
go watch some the the episode of Star Trek Continues, Basically where the series left off, Chris plays Scotty in that series so to answer your question yes. should be an easy find on you tube.
For the people asking about needing another Character slot to play this. Keep in mind we will probably have another give away coming up prior to launch of the expansion. It would be a no brainer.
You mean like the free respecs they said no to with the skill revamp and then popped anyway?, trust me if they can charge people for another toon slot they will.
People will slide 130$ to them for this pack and then go oh crapi need another toon slot, oh well cant waste my 130$, card slides again.

You could say that about 'Delta Rising' too - that it catered to a very niche audience (aka VOY fans.)

bravo cryptic... you have successfully figured out how to get me to spend $130 on STO again...
I am excited as all hell for this expansion, but at the same time, disappointed as all hell it seems to be Fed only
LOL, same.... I can't believe it but I am actually considering it. All the ships are not beautiful but I hope there are some different hull options etc.
Also I am sad that there doesn't seem to include KDF or Rom stuff.
You could say that about 'Delta Rising' too - that it catered to a very niche audience (aka VOY fans.)
I would agree with that assessment. Most particularly since the Delta plotline disappointingly was little more than a cameo fest. shoehorning in as many ways as possible for you to interact with the old crew of Voyager, and making nods to as many VOY episodes as possible, rather than crafting a new and interesting story unique to STO and the 25th century.
Since Voyager is EASILY my least liked Trek series, it was little more than a chore to work through the quests.
Delta Rising is part of the reason I'm unexcited for this. I expect more of the same. An unoriginal story, designed to wink at you as they make very obvious references to TOS for no reason other than to make very obvious references. Since this is obvious the primary content the dev team is going to be designing for, this announcement just means I have less hope of getting content I actually want anytime soon.
J.J. Abrams- Suckering people into loving moronic stories by excessive use of shiny things since 1998.
Once again Cryptic demonstrates its obsession with rehashing everything that came before instead of pushing forward. No thanks. I'm playing this game for the 25th century, not the 23rd and by god not the 22nd, 29th or 31st.

I'm interested in this, but I think I'll wait and see what the expansion itself involves before dropping any money on this pack (hate to spend that much for content that stops around level 21...) Anyway, I have a couple questions that won't yet have answers but I haven't seen discussed yet (a least I don't think I've read any discussion, sorry if I missed your post).
This all kind of looks like a "pocket universe" of sorts; so, if we are going native in that little bubble of TOS space-time:
1) Will the registry restrictions be lifted? After all, if these are TOS era ships, we should have 3 to 4 number registries. (Would love to have a 4 digit registry on my newer ships so the -A,B,C,etc. looked more believable.)
2) Weapons: Phasers and Photons only? Nothing else has been invented yet...
3) No Transwarp network. No quick way back to ESD, right?
4) No ESD; wasn't built (at least wasn't seen) until the Movies.
5) No personal shields; to balance, will weapons be weaker or will armor have to be stronger?
For KDF purposes though it might be okay if we have some TOS style bops and D7's and then maybe some temporal bops and D7's I could get into that but they really need to lighten the load of per ship per character stuff it makes me not want to make another character which the way they have been handling it works against what they are trying to do.
So in simple terms when you think of long time players with many many alts design things that make things *easier* so that they don't feel overwhelmed and not play your game at all which has been me mostly since DR came out.
Of course you guys put in the one thing I have been begging for since beta...after I can't play because you discontinued the MAC version
@khan5000 Im playing on MAC. There are ways around it. I have to say, the playonmac app I am using now is working perfectly. It more stable then the previous official cider app and I can play with decent graphic quality on my old mac, at least for me.
Those other games make everything you have spent huddreds of hours of your time doing completely moot, so you can stay on those PvP leaderboards. Hundreds of hours doing the same content over and over again. And they often charge you for the honor of TRIBBLE you over every 9 months, in addition to any monthly fees you might need to pay in order to get access to the new content. You are living in a fantasy world if you think what they do is any different than here.
On that subject, if those things are so great and this sucks so bad, why are you even here and not there working on your leaderboard stats?
Hello pwe publisher, is that you?
what you think about "most expensive stuff on steam" for your game and returns nothing for that money?
Tell that to the people buying WoW collectors editions of their expansions, paying double so they can get yet another mount and pet - expansions that are "limited edition", because there just aren't enough digital bits to go around. Once again, why are you not off playing a different game if this one offends you so much? So miserable is your life that you need to try to make everyone else that way too? I guess your sadness isn't "limited edition".
Holy smokes, I briefly forgot this existed. You do your TOS expansion no justice if this ship is excluded. Copyright issues? Resolve them NOW. Put this bad boy in the freagin' game.
No t6 Exeter/Excalibur/Vesper. Complete failure. Shouldn't have tried. Life is meaningless.

On a more serious note, this expansion looks fun. I assume that there will be default low tier ships for leveling for those who can't afford the special agent pack, right?
Has no one on this board been through an expansion before? New Story till about level 20 give or take, then you get folded in to the main story. This is not rocket science.
There's a T5 TOS ship, so the content will get you up to at least level 40. Even given one mission per level, that's 40 new ones (likely some are patrols, but still). That's not counting the 2410 cross faction arc that comes at the same time.
@jim625 where is this $99 discount you speak of... Can't find it.
$99 IS the discounted price. The pack contains contents worth $270.50.
not sure where you people are seeing $99, 52% off of $270 is $129.99 typical price for a expansion pack for this game with a discount that is how much i payed for the Delta Rising bundle.

My Fed main is from the 2270s (does the ISS Bozeman ring a bell?), he doesn't want to go back, the 25th Century is more to his liking.
Also, some seem to not realize, that this game is set in a post-TNG era.
I will not participate, nor will I purchase, anything to do with this reckless endeavour.
In summary: No.
