Hm. I just thought of a psychological impact for the extra space that might be considered a positive. I'm thinking it might tend to make people less... reactive. The posts are less dense and might lend toward an illusion of being less "in your face" where people are distracted by what they see and focused less on what they read.

I'm probably totally wrong and in any case I wouldn't call it deliberate. But I can't help noticing that that animated image in the sig right above where I'm posting is very distracting.

All bets are off if someone puts a provocative image in their sig

The background image looks nice, but the rest is so... black and white, like that Windows 'high contrast' theme no one uses.

      What background image?

      I have no such thing.

Unenhanced web version. Top of the page. Haven't tried out the mobile yet.

Nope... I run a Chrome install without any kinds of plugins for... well... anything but Chromecast, and I havn't made any changes to the vanilla forums either... I just have a grey background...

Seriously PWE... Get your act together...

No offense Trendy, but can we have the previous style back?
Or at least ways of setting up the forum how we like it?

I don't like this new style at all.

      Thank you for the time...

Agreed! This new style is far to blocky and hard on the eyes.

Edit: PS, where is the Dev tracker?

      Dev Tracker? What's that?

Considering we haven't had one since the Vanilla switch...

      Thank you for the time...

I like the background of this layout. But man, is it an eyesore! I just got used to the other one and liked it. I liked when the profile pic was to the left with the number of posts and the type of member and the time on it to that side. I don't like having one's name on the top. It looks wrong. I agree that there appears to be a waste of space in this layout. To be honest, it does not look professionally done. So keep the background just change the layout. Thanks. :)

But I don't like the fact that when I quote somebody now, I automatically get quote trees. Those tend to be messy.

I like the new background color which makes quotes easier to see. Is it the time of year or trend right now to change forum formats? Three forums I go to have changed their format in the last week.

Links for thread titles and in posts aren't blue anymore. They're back to being white so you can't tell someone posted something to click on.

Edit: Aside from that I like the new design. It will take a little getting used to.

It's pretty, just not space-efficient, IMO. I think that if the old layout were brought back, but with the new color scheme/backgrounds, etc., it would be perfect.

Yes and they also don't open in a new tab like they used to.

      This format is awful...

My eyes are bleeding from all the extra lines and huge amount of wasted empty space.

While I kind of like the forum having more color and all, but I have to agree, there is a LOT of wasted space. Any chance of reducing the amount of wasted space at least?

Here below me. Why so much wasted space before the break for the signature? And then, if you have no signature, the wasted space is horrible.

I don't care for the formatting and it seriously hurts my eyes to look at. Especially when there are very colorful sigs/posts on the screen at the same time. Formatting is relatively easy to ignore and/or deal with but the colors.....ugh. Its somewhat reminiscent of stumbling through a room at night when all of a sudden you flip the light on.

I also noticed there is no indication of what is stickied.

Please stop fixing things without full testing done first. Please?!!?

I like the new format colorwise, but I miss the Section links that were at the bottom of the page. Also there are links missing at the top as well that can't be scrolled to access. And not too keen how wide forum links are, there less of them per page now.

New color palette is great, however the fact the right side of the page is chopped off on my tablet, really kills it. As peoples sentences get chopped off.

Now that I made a comment, the page is now locked on the right side so I cannot see whose post it is.

I think the wasted space to the side sis a bit of a red herring. The real problem is that the user profile stuff is now at the top of each post, thus breaking the reading flow of the thread. Putting it to the side alone would greatly improve readability.

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
