This. I have my browser set to use white pages and not use the site colors, so forum changes generally don't bother me. But when I don't have an indicator of unread/updated threads, that is a big problem for me.

The really weird thing is that on Atomic Browser (an iOS browser that is a pay app that I can use to force even the most reluctant websites to desktop mode on my phone), I CAN see new threads in bold font, compared to older threads.

Yet that is not coming across on desktop/Windows Firefox or Chrome. Has anyone else noticed different results on other browsers and OS's?

What was hilarious yesterday for me, was the moment I saw the change in the forum. I went like, wooops, which button I just pressed that screwed up the forum? I freaked.

New color palette is great, however the fact the right side of the page is chopped off on my tablet, really kills it. As peoples sentences get chopped off.

Now that I made a comment, the page is now locked on the right side so I cannot see whose post it is.

What operating system/browser are you running on your tablet?

    Running Chrome w. Android Lollipop.

I'm mostly luke warm on the format change.. but I HATE HATE HATE the fact that I once again have to scroll to the top of the page in order to return to the Forum Main page.

Hopefully, that's only temporary, I miss having the links at the bottom like we used to.

I also noticed there is no indication of what is stickied.

Stickied threads have an orange "frame" around them.

thats not what I am seeing. There is a little sliver of orange at the left side of the first stickied thread. All stickies after are indistinguishable from regular threads.

Edit: All categories have different sticky behavior. GNN has everything stickied back to the sept 3 maintenance thread and some have a sticky as the 3rd or 4th thread and most (that had stickies before) have none.

    I'm with you on that.

Found more errant behavior! After editing my earlier post, I clicked the quote button below seaofsorrows post and it moved me to the top of the page. had to back out and come back to quote again. Yay! I love "improvements".

Taking a closer look, I don't think it's a function of category. I think maybe the highlighted posts are admin posts as opposed to sticky posts, and maybe the reason all of GNN's posts are highlighted is that they are all from Trendy.

There is no background transparency when I am using Firefox on a PC at work. It was really transparent when I was using Chrome on my PC at home. Windows 7 64-bit in both cases.

I don't know if anyone had a complete backup of the old CSS, since there was no warning this was coming. Though we're slowly fixing our custom themes now.

Strangely mobile site on my iOS device using chrome is unchanged and still mostly white forum, with proper spacing. Very Vanilla looking but at least functional.

That makes sense. But that also means there is no indication of a sticky

The 'Announcement' tag next to the thread name is what marks it as a sticky.

Remember how much we complained when they changed the formatting to the one we had before? Now we're all begging for it back. Sheesh. Someday this will be the good old days :(

I didn't think all things that were announcements stayed stickied forever. When they are unstickied do they stop being announcements?

Yeah, if they keep "fixing" things, we will be begging for this back eventually. The last format was very bad and bland at first but they got it to an ok working order then this. I can't wait for whats next.

Yeah, announcements are just what Vanilla calls sticky posts.

Not sure if it has been mentioned here yet, but could we please have a link to go back to the forum it self?

You wont get any arguments from me on that one. If I had access to their back end files, I'd switch it to say "sticky". I can do it via CSS, but it's a little messy so I haven't bothered.

The new look is nice, but now I'm starting to notice that it's hideously slow to scroll. Is there any way to address this?

    i´ll say +1 on this.

Ever since the change its like im scrolling through the forum on some stoneage PC.
Changes in design and people probably liking it in all honor but if you cant scroll through the forum pages without it looking like a horribly unresponsive slideshow, it simply makes me want to not visit the forum anymore.

And just to clarify it, fine pc here.
It was normal before the change in design, now it isnt anymore.
Other sites / forums work fine while this doesnt.

Hopefully the guys behind this can check out whats causing it.

For now, if you need to get to the top or bottom of the page quickly, try using the Home (top) and End (bottom) keys. Hopefully they'll get things adjusted soon, but that may help you in the interim.

EDIT: Something I've just noticed...even on Firefox I can see a difference in the shade of white (yes, shade of white O_O ) for threads that have new posts in them versus those that do not. That said, it is an extremely subtle difference, one that I would not have known to check for if I had not seen it on my phone first where it is far more obvious to my eye. I would recommend something be done to make that easier to identify.
