Request: Pony pets

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
Captains Pike, Kirk, and Picard all rode horses. See Exhibit A:

More canon characters liked horses than cats or beagles, so horses are more canon than cats and dogs. And since horses would be too big for the game, ponies would be just the right size.

So everyone gets a pony. If they buy it, of course, but... ponies! Mull on that for a while.

    Only place it would actually be useful is Nimbus III. And a dune buggy or hovercraft doesn't need to be fed, and doesn't TRIBBLE either.

    All your examples were for fictional horses. Holodeck, illusion and Nexus. We never saw a real horse in Trek. :p
    Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

    Having horses to ride on in-game is not a bad idea. Maybe it could be added to Risa, next Summer, as well as some trails and campgrounds. And yes, I am being serious. I would even vote for an extension to Nimbus where we can use them--in addition to an Exchange being placed there. After all, this is "Wagon Train to the Stars". ;)

    All I want is for my Klingon Space Dog to trigger a Final Fantasy style cutscene, where the dog senses that I need him and runs from the bridge of my ship to the transporter room before beaming down.

    And anyone in my team has to watch it before combat can resume.

    Ugh, no. Have you seen what they look like? The animation of the horse itself is bad and the movement animations are frankly horrible. So just, no.

    There's been at least 9 cats on the D, and one dog on the NX...

    There was a cat, that turned out not to be a cat anyway but still, on the TOS Enterprise too. And let's not forget Unicorn Dog. Now that I'd love to see.
