Both are good, but Omega is definitely my favorite design of them all.
I hate to see some of these variants lose. Perhaps some of them can find their way to production as alternate hull variants?

Omega never should have been a design put forward for this contest... its going to win by a landslide just because of all the Jupiter fanboys on this forum.
Omega all the way! Though I do advocate for a heavy engineering hull to be added between those nacelles to balance it out. Just blend it in sticking straight out while keeping the nacelle pylons where they are to contain both engineering space, storage and crew quarters, leaving the saucer for fighters. Very carrier-ish.
i chose sigma, but not too much difference between the choices given really, ..... so we are not really choosing anything, all the designs are too similar to be different... if there were actual differences in shape, OR if instead they actually allowed US to Design the ship, as they said they....are.......I'd like to suggest for the next one "we" "design", have something where, a Captain can move around shapes and literally design and submit a ship they Designed, then after that , submit the ships for voting.... Then That would be "us" creating the "design". For right now, it's STO that created the few choice designs, so instead , presently they should change the announcement from "design" to "vote". Instead of saying "You design" "the" "ship", cause we don't and so far, it looks freaking terrible in my opinion. ..... Let us actually design a ship, I would make a Great one, and so would many other Captains. It would be soo cool to see what Captains would come up with....... The question is, does STO have the Guts to do that , and truly "boldy go where no one has gone before" in gaming....

That's kind of a fallacy.
I actually dislike the Jupiter with a passion. It looks like a colony ship more than a combat ship.
However, of all 8 designs we have to choose from (which are all pretty bad for carriers), the Omega is the closest thing to an actual 'large' (2 bay) carrier that I can see. All the other designs would be fine as smaller 'escort' (1 bay) carriers - they just don't look look like a 'heavier' carrier should.
I really hope they consider adding Epsilon and Sigma as skins for a T6 Heavy Cruiser, that'd be a perfect use for these designs. Especially if they make them flight deck cruisers or something, since they seem to be shaking up a lot of existing ships.
Never understood the need for a 'compact' carrier. You are limiting yourself by doing that I think. Bigger isn't always better, but if the Omega, or the Alpha are big enough that they can allow escorts as hanger pets, I would rather them, then another 'compact' carrier. Even if Sigma is large, it doesn't LOOK like a carrier. As cool as Sigma looks, that is the design for an escort, not a carrier. The carrier needs to LOOK like a carrier, not an over sized escort.
"Cryptic Studio’s Jack Emmert (2010): Microtransactions are the biggest bunch of nonsense. I like paying one fee and not worrying about it – like my cellphone. The world’s biggest MMO isn’t item based, even though the black market item GDP is bigger than Russia … microtransactions make me want to die.”
Surprised so many went Omega when Sigma is the first design Cryptic/PWE has ever put out with quad nacelles that actually look like they belong together...
This was about as close as you can get for me. I like both designs. I say that even though the Omega suacer shape isn't very clear how it goes between the overhead view, and the side view (how does it transistion??). In the end, despite that, I asked myself: "Which one seems more like a Carrier". To me it is the Omega. So #TeamOmega gets my vote. I like them both though.
Note: To me the Sigma would make a wonderful Fast-Heavy Battlecruiser (with dual cannons). They should consider making that happen if it doesn't win this.
P.S. Still mourning the loss of the Theta. *sniff* *sniff*
Just goes to show the fans at large honestly have no idea what's actually good for them.
Ikr just like you didnt know that whats good for you is the omega right?
Tbh i thought the jupiter is ugly as f... ahem right well anyways though when i look at the two candidates the omega just looks more inline with a carrier then the sigma.
Though if carriers werent the most needed thing i wouldve went sigma due to it being the nicest of the escort designs but weve got several escort carriers already and only one litterbox..atrox omega just looks like a carrier.
Surprised, really, that there's no one commenting negatively towards the fact that with a 'Starfleet' full-carrier for T6, the Caitian Atrox is now no-longer special...

The Atrox was special for being the only full carrier built for the Federation. Plus, the hangar pets it comes with isn't good for dps. I replaced those with Elite Scorpions.
Exactly - with the 'Greek Letter'-class full carrier coming, the Atrox has lost its only real attraction beyond being an 'alien' ship.
The KDF have two carriers specific to their faction, the voquv and the karfi, so the atrox can make a T6 appearance still being the alien faction specific like the karfi is to the klingons while this greek alphabet carrier will be the fed's "in house" carrier like the voquv is for the KDF.
Although the atrox is rather close to the voquv in boff layout, so I"m curious if this fed carrier is going to end up with a karfi type boff layout or something else entirely... I really hope they don't ruin this whole thing in the end by TRIBBLE up the stats/boffs.
The Nebula-configured Odyssey needs to be a thing.
Can we skip to the end? First, Omega wins. Next, we give it TWO hangar bays, thank you very much! Then we offer two different hangar pets...one is fighter size (launches 3 at a time), and one is frigate size (launches one at a time). Can I get an AMEN???
Carriers have two hangar bays... so that goes without saying...
...oops...I left out that our Omega should have at LEAST 3 weapons stations each fore and aft! and by the way, I keep seeing Omega being compared to the Jupiter class. Surely you all don't mean by looks, do you? Because the Omega is pretty hot and the Jupiter is hideous!!
Carriers have at least 6 weapon stations, usually 3 fore, 3 aft, so again... why are you throwing these things out there like this carrier isn't going to end up with the typical carrier things?
Usually these posts are the kind who want 3-4 hangars instead of two or 4/3 weapon slots instead of typical 3/3 etc... but instead you're like "LET'S MAKE THIS CARRIER TOTALLY NORMAL!" instead of the typical " I WANT A SUPER CARRIER!"

What I don't understand is why we're moving so slow. Why one vote against type instead of each level at a time. Could have been done in 9 days instead of the 21 is going to take.
I imagine part of it is to give the designers time to create the more details we were promised to receive as the competition continues. They undoubtedly started working on more alpha details after she won, and then gamma after she won, so they have had time to work on those two while we decided between epsilon and theta and sigma and omega.
So while alpha and gamma face off, the designers will be working on epsilon (I am sure already in progress) and then omega or sigma (probably omega by the looks of it). That is if the devs don't already have all these "more details" already tucked away and ready to whip out, lol. I"m just giving a possible other reason for dragging the competition out.

So anyway, I voted omega because, even though sigma does everything "right" for some reason I just don't quite like it as well as other designs.
Sigma looks like what might happen if voyager and prometheus had a fat baby. And I like voyager, and I like prometheus, so I should like their fat baby... and it's fine, it really is. But when I compare epsilon to sigma... I just like epsilon a little better. Perhaps because I can actually imagine it at a larger scale while sigma seem like it will always be a smaller vessel.
Plus omega's kind of been growing on me. The styling from the dorsal view reminds me of the sovereign's aesthetics and having it confirmed in a previous comment in here referencing a post from reddit, which I hope is accurate, that that white bar in the side is an open launch bay... that's... just pretty freaking sweet. I always liked the atrox's open bays with force fields on them, and if that's what omega is going to have... yes. I approve.
Plus I'm rather curious to see more of omega once we get these promised "more details" were supposed to get as the competition goes. And if epsilon were to ultimately win, sigma could always get it's saucer in as an alt skin for it anyway so... yeah.

Tactical Team sucked, once upon a time. I got it buffed. Don't think for a minute that Cryptic ignores forum feedback.

Just a simple matter of giving the Gamma a better chance, because Gamma is the most interesting design in this fight.
Not that it'll matter, Omega will win, we'll end up with Alpha vs Omega. But Gamma should definitely win in the end.
