Okay. Does anybody know what the hell just happened?
The best Episode written by Mark Gatiss yet, so atmospheric and extremely dark.
Also, I don't know whether I missed it, but there wasn't an opening credits sequence was there?
Yes but what the hell was it? What was going on? What was the plot? What were the villains motives? What was wrong with the guns? Why were the uniforms so awesome? What's with the Geordies?
I am really looking forward to these. I may even forget about this episode.
@angrytarg I'm sure you've got some nice things to say about this whenever it gets to Germany.

@artan42 :Water is love, water is life. Water means mud. And mud is love, mud is life
I finally watched it and found out the episode got a lot of flak. Honestly, I cannot understand why. It was a great episode, reminding me even a little bit of 60's Dr. Who. I don't understand why some people voiced confusion about the plot - it is obviously a build-up. If the "sandmen" arc is never picked up again I agree, it's a bit weird and out of place and ended very abruptly (apruptly?) but other than that it was kinda clever. The different style of filming and showing us added a lot of alien feeling to it, the horror was classic and the mosnters even sounded like classic monsters/zombies (in original RE or "They Hunger HL") sounded. The uniforms, I agree wirth artan, look awesome. They remind me a lot of Warhammer 40k Imperial Guard and the whole way the episode played I could even picture the sets and costumes to be part of a 40k show/movie
Now, yes, I am looking for a follow-up here, obviously. Clara is now infected with whatever turns people to sand monsters (maybe they need a temporal dagger to fight them? ) and I'd like a follow-up on the world we were intorduced to and the morpheus devices. But all in all I enjoyed it very much.
It'sfunny, back in the days I enjoyed a moffat episode. Now I enjoy episodes not written by moffat.

Ok, was not expecting that, one of the best episodes this season
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."
-Lord Commander Solar Macharius
And I really didn't think Clara would die, I rooted all the time for the stasis pod. "Just put her in there until you can fix it" I knew Jenna Coleman wanted to leave the show, so Clara must be out of the picture - but I kinda hoped she could remain in stasis until maybe one day she decides to come back.
Very emotional, strong and brilliant episode. We'll see about the "perma-death" of clara, though. The series final are Moffat episodes, after all...

It was a well written and executed episode, but it left me with mixed feelings.
Jenna Coleman was supposed to be out of the show by the end of season 8, then the Christmas Special, she had to be talked into another season. That said, I too am dubious of Clara's "perma-death", this is the "Impossible Girl" who stepped into the Doctor's time stream, spreading herself all over the Doctor's past and possibly his future, so we may not have seen the last of her.
It's supposedly the first time in 30 years that they've killed off a companion on screen, but her death really didn't feel that profound to me for some reason, it was a kind of "kay I'm gonna go die now, see ya later" vibe that just felt weird, it was the Doctor's reactions before and after that gave it real impact.
The Doctor feared he had made a grave error reviving Ashildr, and his fears have proven to be well founded, she has been nothing but a source of grief.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
She didn't have to be talked into anything. Originally, she was going to leave at the end of series 8, this is quite clear by the ending of the christmas episode, and would have been a perfect end for Clara, having her live her long life and going peacefully of old age. But she changed her mind herself and wanted to come back for another season. So they changed the ending of the Christmas ep. Then partway through this one, she decided to leave afterall to go play the Queen in another show.

I do have to point out, how can the TARDIS, a very powerful being, not be able to find the doctor?
Well it is a cliff hanger, the story isn't finished yet
We know that the TARDIS is sentient but do we know how much freedom it has to act on it's own initiative? The pixie took the Doctor's key with her contraption, but we don't know if that was the only one he had on him and he may have allowed himself to be sent off to wherever just see where she was sending him, he is the Doctor after all.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
In the doctor's wife... I think that was the name. We do have a conversation with the ship. It always sends him where he needs to go. Plus she told him pretty much flat out she's the boss
she's still infected with sandman-stuff, isn't she?

I'm still having a hard time summing up my thoughts. I'll probably wait for a fortnight, it was a three parter after all.
Also, reading the comments on the Doctor Who reddit, it seems the focus of this episode was Clara's jumper.
