i am actually happy that there are no T7 ships planned for S11. That would be too soon. T5 is still good enough and we can work with T6 for more than just 1-2 more years. It would result in re-re-re-releases of the Galaxy, D'Deridex, Negh'Var and others anyway but they would make it look like T7 will be all new and different again
I'll go further and say T7s must NEVER happen. I'm not going through that pile of **** again
Never say never, but I won't be buying T7 versions of ships I've already bought at T6. So I hope they don't go there anytime soon. My playing time in STO will be sunsetting if they obsolete my T6's.
I'll be honest most of us out here all we do is check out the new story missions and then quit it till the next one. I really have all the gimmicks I can stand and don't plan to play this grindfest of ship masteries and specializations because I refuse to endorse or let the idea of them thinking anyone actually likes it get into their heads. I'll be so glad if another company is given the shot at making a star trek mmorpg because this game and company have had their chances to get it done right and haven't satisfied the needs of the many.

I don't do that. I play every time I can. They just need to rethink what is it that they are doing. STO is less RPG than most other MMO's out there, and yet is has a richer background of lore to work with. If they just can implement the story flow and the rpg feel into the game better than they have, it would go a long ways towards making this game better.
That and stop making every new system involving dilithium in it's costs. Casual gamers and small fleets don't have the ability to collect dil on the scale that they are requiring to have the "fun" those systems could provide.

A funny thing I have noticed both IRL and on the net is how some people think that "most people" think the same way as they do, without any real basis for that belief.
I'm done if T7 ever happens. That's just ridiculous to even think about right now.
To be fair, I think the timing is what matters. If it's next week or next month, I'm sure most people would agree with you. But if it's 2017? Or 2018? I mean, eventually they are going to increase the level cap again; that is just the nature of MMOs. And when that happens, ship tier will go up with it.

I would think it would be longer than that since all they need to to make new boff slot options available is come up with a new specialization, and they've only introduced 4 of those in almost a year so plenty of ways to make new T6s.

It is rather peculiar, thankfully I count myself among the few that don't do it. You should always assume the majority don't have a clue what you are talking about. Then you have to come up with thought out, rational explanations to everything you say, and be willing to back them up if required. If everyone could do that the internet would be a far nicer place.
Anyway, back to the baseless doommongering that haunts this forum...

Not every level cap increase came with a ship tier increase.
The game took 5 years to add a new ship tier. I think the next ship tier increase won't take 5 years again probably, but I expect it will take at least 2 years (after DR) before a new ship tier increase will happen.
There are still plenty of lower tier ships that could be sold in a Tier 6 variant, and I assume that we haven't seen the last specialization, either, so that also will open up room for new ships.

Wil Wheaton would never come aboard STO to play Wesley, in this game or anything else. Of course he'd be open to playing a different character in any Star Trek media.
Oooooooh, Mirror Wesley!!! An evul scheming killer Wesley. That would be fun.

Not me. that would require other people to make sense at least part of the time.
Mirror Universe Rep invovling House of Pagh some how.
More details on Admiralty system. The rumoured Enterprise are stand alone ships, not tied to players ships.
For stats on the Admiralty ships there are Tac, Eng, Sci and a Cargo Hold which seems to be a bonus reward.
Ships come in Tier and Quality with lockbox ships being Ultra Violet or Gold.
Campaigns appear to be broken up into assignments which are fast, which are apart of tours of duty and those I think make up campaigns. Tours of Duty have hefty rewards.
Surprise Hazards increase challenge and risk, but rewards as well, like getting abushed by pirates.
You can fail and crit on assignments.
You don't have to go search quadrants and sectors looking for assignments the way you do with duty officer assignments, its all right there.
Smaller ships have an advantage, they heal up quicker then bigger/more powerful ships.
So tell me, when is it enough? when ships cost $70 each?
You can say that, when I've been watching for two days now the dumb little scroll tell me that some person just spent $200+ on enough doff packs to earn themselves a Krenim dreadnaught?
Why is Cryptic only charging $30 for a T6? They know darn well there are yayhoos or there who will pay their weekly paycheck to get the next hot thing...

I would like that as it would be more original than just more name-dropping (the Hur'q are basically untouched in actual canon). My only plea would be that Cryptic would not try to design enemies for their fantasy games and just set them into space - the hammer-wielding golems, trolls and wizards really annoy me in my Star Trek game. I'd like to see those enemies be more "regular" with regular types of starships and combatants and maybe have a reasonable motivation and deeper motives as opposed to "semi-omnipotent energy floaty beings that are evil just for the heck of it". Hur'q and Dewans are two species canon only recognized as being ancient and long lost. Especially with the Dewans maybe some ancient probes, drones and other automated stuff is reactivated and has to be stopped (ideally, ultimately by thinking and not by shooting). The Hur'q could resurface (maybe through some temporal spiel because we just do that I guess) and decide to revisit the Klingons again. Glorious battles and Klingon lore - I just hope Hur'q would not look like Fek'Ihri. Because demons and devils with swords and floating "souls" are not much better than purple space wizards.

Have we seen Obsidian Order in STO yet? I know we fought True Way Cardassians in the Cardassian story arc, but I don't think there were any actual Obsidian Order agents that we saw.
Considering that they are revamping the Cardassian story arc as well as make a new assault on DS9 mission, the canon villian we haven't seen yet in STO could be the Obsidian Order.

According to STO lore, the Order was disbanded by the civilian government. However given Cryptic's penchant for changing their own established lore on a whim. Who knows what the next season will bring.

The Obsidian Order was pretty much destroyed already during Deep Space Nine - in fact considerably before the actual Dominion War, when the order had (illegally by Cardassian law at the time) build its own fleet together with the Tal'Shiar to launch a massive attack on the Founder's homeworld. And failed. Gloriously.
Afterwards, there was basically a Cardassian revolution and a new government was forming. That the Klingons interpreted as being due to Changling interference and used as an excude for an assault on Cardassia.
The Klingon invasion failed when Dukat with his little "resistance cell" invited the Dominion to the Alpha Quadrant, allowing him to take over the Cardassian government.
I don't think the Obsidian Order survived these changes. First off, it failed on a big level, shattering any "trust" in its capabilities. Most of its leaders probably died in the assault. The new government that came into being a while after that probably had no love for the Obsidian Order. And Dukat was linked to the military branch, and had no love for the Obisidian Order either.
If there is anything still alive from the Order (and beholden to its ideals or goals), it is certainly not part of the Detapa Council, nor allied with it. So it might be part of the True Way. Maybe the secret ship building facilities that the Obsidian order maintained is actually what is allowing the True Way to even field a number of (modernized) ships.

That's not given at all, actually.
EDIT: To clarify, the remark that traces of Hur'q technology have been found in the Fek'Ihri arc can mean a lot of things. In any case, it's not far off to hope that Hur'q do not look like Fek'Ihri which themselves seem to be modeled after mythology in the first place so at best they were a tool for the hur'q, if there is even a link between them (show canonical there isn't. STO might have it, but we'll see )

There's also the fact that Kahless placed an Iconian artifact in his shrine when he built it. Apparently as a prize of war.
