On one hand I do understand the want to pursue the latest facts you can muster up, but we'll be putting out all official information on arcgames.
Just food for thought.
Is that a statement out of you’re “perfect world”? Just asking because in reality most peeps I know don’t log into STO to play Reddit-, Twitter- or Facbook-Online. Your information policy the past year speaks for itself and makes threads like this one very much appreciated if you don’t mind.
Perhaps some food for thought as well.
Although I might have tried putting it in nicer words ...
... a big +1 on that one!
"•Mission failure will result in damage to ships, and larger ships take longer to repair than smaller ships. You can pay dilithium to speed up the repairs."
And, pray-tell, why would I *pay* Dilithium for doffing missions?!
maybe coz the rewards outweigh the cost of dil I dunno
It's a good thing I bought all the Klingon Pilot Raptors. That gives me a grand total of five ships with three shuttlecraft.
Yea my thought as well.
At the moment I remain interested in the idea of doffing with ships. I also think I like the idea how they implement it a bit better than what a lot of peeps hope for in the other thread. You know with ship’s gear reflecting on your new ship “cards”. Sure with the new system they want to give us something to do but at the same time undoubtedly want to expand their income.
So it’s either a “Try to get as many good ships as you can” vs. a “Try to get as many good ships as you can AND upgrade their stuff to MK14 epic”. I personally go for the first one there especially because it would not interfere with the load out system either.
However, that second statement contradicts what he said at Vegas, because he said players would be able to get "The Enterprise", comparing it to a "gold foil playing card". And we obviously can't fly around in the actual Enterprise.
Technically you actually can fly around in the original series Enterprise, though it's only a tier 1 ship.
It's possible Cryptic could have been referring to the Enterprise-F, the Odyssey class. Technically they didn't say *which* Enterprise would be a gold foil type special thingy.
Unless it was a hint that CBS finally said yes to you-know-what. Doubtful though.

I cant believe ppl still buy the "CBS said no"-excuse^^

CBS will not allow an endgame TOS or TMP Constitution Class. That's not an excuse, that's just it. However that is all they will not allow, nothing else has ever been proven to have been vetoed by CBS.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

There will be a new villain that *has* been on the show, but never seen in STO.
Cardassian storyarc will be revamped and provide the back story for much of the new content.
DS9 interior map is getting a revamp, but will not be ready for Season 11.
We probably won't get missions where the choices we make effect what happens in future missions, because it would be "really hard in an MMO" and they would not be able to sustain the content they are doing on a regular basis. It would create a "snowballing" effect and create much longer development time.
Feline supplement provides Catians a huge buff.
OHHH now this has me intrested i wonder who it will be.
About time hate running that arc
Thank god with the revamp of ESD and sector space DS9 is looking old
TOR manage to do it

I still can't believe that people don't believe it's true. Cryptic/PWE would make boatload upon boatload of cash from selling an endgame level Connie. I'm pretty sure they aren't turning down all that money just for giggles.
Yeah, this. When did they ever turn down an opportunity to make money?
Sure, CBS might relent someday and it could happen. But probably not while Paramount is still making new-Trek movies. I think they believe there would be some kind of brand confusion between old-Enterprise and new-Enterprise.
Another point is that the old Constitution class doesn't fit the aesthetics of all of the newer ships in STO. The longer we go without an endgame Constitution, the more it would stick out like a sore thumb, and the less likely we'd ever see it.
And... knowing full well that we're straying off into an off-topic endgame Connie discussion that's on the FCT, I'll let it go at that and keep it on topic for season 11. This isn't about a flyable Connie, this is about an Admiralty system collectible 'card'.

That depends on whether you are talking about TOS skin or TMP skin. You would be right that there are no high tier ships with a TOS era skin, but we just got a T6 Excelsior with the TMP era skin as an option.

This is actually a perk imo I am esp not a fan of the 2410 nacelles. Just give us a t6 Exeter, problem solved.
now on topic, I have a character in the middle of the cardi arc... now Im not sure if I should park him until oct or finish it... probably need to finish it... he's a delta and needs certain missions for Iconian tech and lore we never use

I'd encourage you to push through it and the Breen arc, especially if you've never finished a Delta Recruit before and even moreso if you have any low-level Deltas who will have to run through it later. The payoff to complete the Delta Recruit objectives is well worth it.
I realize that waiting for the revamp holds a certain attraction, but a good chunk of that is the 2800 series and I can't see them changing that a whole lot.
i have a question: the new season will add exploration but for who? the doffs or the players?
My guess would be the Admiralty - IE They'll tout the new Admiralty system campaigns as ALL about 'Exploration'.

yeah its my 2nd delta, my Kobali delta is like lv58 and patrolling TRIBBLE in the DQ. Im just thinking its like 90% likely they'll bork some delta recruit objectives when they revamp the cardi arc by removing them from X and not replacing them elsewhere

Technically speaking, the Excelsior Retrofit model in the game is actually the model of the Enterprise 1701-B seen in the movie Star Trek Generations, wich was a cross between the TMP and TNG eras. The Enterprise-B was actually a *refit* of an Excelsior, but in game the refit is a low tier original Excelsior and the high tier is referred to as a retrofit. So Cryptic is inaccurate with this ship. But it is what it is.
As for a villain seen on the show but not in STO (hey that rhymes), I have a couple theories.
It could be Weyoun. I think it's possible he had a secret clone of himself hidden away somewhere. It wouldn't be smart for the Vorta to have "all their eggs in one basket", so to speak. So it's possible they had a cloning facility hidden on an asteroid or planet somewhere.
Another possibility would be Gul Dukat coming back as a Pah Wraith or something.

The Ent B was the refit of the standard Excelsior, the ones seen in TNG / DS9 are also standard Excelsiors the only other refit seen (other than the Ent was the Lakota
Off topic: But I like to think the Ent B was rechristened Lakota when the Ent C was commissioned.

Since the Mirror Universe is apparently going to be a big part of the next season, that increases the number of potential candidates that could be villains, as we could simply get an evil Mirror version of someone who is more heroic (or at the very least, less evil) in our universe. I believe they already hinted that Mirror Leeta might be evil? The latest round of tweets makes it seem like she might not be the main villain after all, though.
Heck, we could even see villains that we already defeated in our universe make a reappearance as their Mirror selves. Mirror Hakeev aside, it seems like people from the Mirror Universe aren't always necessarily polar opposites of how their are in our universe, but instead possess more of the negative attributes associated with a given person. The Klingons and Cardassians from the Mirror Universe, for example, were even more aggressive and tyrannical than they are in our universe.
"There will never be enough blood to wash away my need for vengeance! A single world...I could destroy a million worlds and it would not be enough! Your existence is an insult to the memory of my people! I will continue my fight, even if I must fight alone!"
I am somewhat concerned with the concept that different ship types are better at certain missions.
Theoretically, this is a good idea, but my Fed toon is a Science captain, and he has no escorts in his hangar, or cruisers, or carriers. If any mission requires such a ship he will have to pass on it. Similarly, my Romulans have no science ships, and my Klingon owns nothing but Birds of Prey.
I certainly don't want to have to buy extra hangar slots to store ships I currently don't own because they are of no practical use to my captain so that I can DOff starships.
I by far preferred the idea of using my own ships, BOffs, and gear in missions to the idea of yet another OOC grindfest. In two more days I will have completed my Delta Recruit's Reputation Grind, and I had hoped that whenever I finally complete the R&D grind I would be done with it, and could return my focus to playing the game.
OHHH now this has me intrested i wonder who it will be.

I am wondering since new content will be coming to Cardassian area, if that is a result of the temporal issue with the current war that changes that area? I would hope they change or update DS9 exterior as they are redoing the interior? Oh, i cant wait i have been so wanting this area revamped.
Commander Shran - You tell Archer, that is three the pink skin owes me!
I listen to the G&T show and it sounds like Fleet Admiral Leeta is not allied with the Terran Empire, but some other mirror faction, and she will be tied into the Cardassian Arc.
and they had they're own Iconian war, with different results. Weird thought, but what if the Mirror Universe Iconians are good guys?
As for exploration I think it will mostly tie into the new episodes, not the revamped, and likely the Admiralty System Federation Campaign (I'm betting the Klingon Campaign will be more conquest and managing the Empire, while the Romulans will be more rebuilding, while solving mysteries/intrigue).
So this how I gather one plays the Admiralty system, you get an Admiralty Ship for each ship you own. Each possible ship that you can have is unique. They have traits and stats. Traits could be things like +5 for each science ship, or bonus loot, plus other stuff.
So say you pick a mission and you choose a Fleet T-U Corsair FDC, a T-U Maurader FDC, and a T3 Dacoit FDC, for the mission. Maybe the Maurader has a trait that gains gets you contraband as a bonus reward, the Corsiar takes less damage, and the Dacoit gets a bonus to stats for each Orion ship.
They face a bunch of hazards and win, you get a nice reward.
forced myself through the cardi/dominion arc... sad part is there are a couple missions in there that really do play out like an episode of TNG or such but damn there's so much TRIBBLE... I think if they split it into mirror, cardi, dominion episodes that alone would improve things.
edit:
note I said improve, not make them good. Or that it would be all thats needed
