Here's an idea.... or, moreover, a question..... Why should two totally different games be sharing any degree of bandwidth?
Because Cryptic's running everything, all three games plus the XBox side of Nevergonnaplayagain, out of one server farm. And broadband in the area is provided by Cogent, whose practices are so infamous that they were called out by name when the FCC explained why they need to make Net Neutrality regulations.

Get one of those microwave 'grilling' trays, and then put the microwaye with the coffee maker, on top of the mini fridge next to the pc tower unit, that way you can have instant-ish bacon whenever needed...

im un the uk, and my connection goes through the ever shoddy bt lines, but i can only speak for my own connection. obviously you mentioned comcast so you are a lot closer not that i want to know where you are, but you are obviously more closer to the boston server, so you must get a better speed.

i once accidentally spilled water on a active plug to a former secondary computer years ago. not only did it blow the computer up (not literally but it did spark and melt) but it also took down the entire village power supply on that one sub station which every other house in the village is connected to for a number of hours and the smell of melted burned plastic.. yeah dont do that :P

While it is advancing and I don't really need to get in at the moment, there's definitely something fishy about this patching speed, Trendy. Unless it's somehow an unexpected surge in players, the engineers should look at it (and I've even downloaded the Tribble patch without trouble a couple days ago, so I'm not even sure what's being downloaded now - that slowly at that).
