Interesting how they say the Delta Recruits will have a storyline that runs PARALLEL to each faction story. Meaning these new characters aren't running the same story as those that came before it.

Why it is limited to characters during that time frame.

I agree. The timelimit sucks. At best, I am able to work on one charactor per year, usually I get a new toon in the summer when there is nothing on TV. Story line is only running for 6 weeks ???

Will we have to do the tutorial or can we skip it? Is the tutorial mandatory for Delta Recruits? ;)

Perhaps a "head start" on certain reps? Like Tier 1 automatically unlocked for Nukara, Romulan and Dyson Sphere upon reaching Level 50 as a Delta Recruit?

Hope Cryptic is planning to really give these characters a leg up, and not simply hype and lip service.

Since the rep sponsorship system was added, tier 1 takes one daily project to unlock if you've already completed it on another toon. So that wouldn't really be much of a 'leg up'. Though I get where you're coming from, personally I'd prefer a head start on the Spec trees or R+D systems since those are the parts of the games which are the least alt friendly these days.
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.
True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event rewards!!

I would like to be able to choose a T5/6 Ship to do my leveling in... That way I could be earning the Spec points while I'm going through, and not just wait 'till I'm a 50 to start earning them. Also, having the Rep System opened right away would go a long way to earning marks and completing content...

    Just saying...

All'ya'lls got to be kidding . Free rep and free r&d levels ? What the heck . while your asking for free stuff why not ask to level up once to 60 the minute you log in . That's plain silly . The whole "I've been here for X amount of days/months/ years and therefore demand special treatment " attitude is frankly sad.
Play the game or don't . The Delta recruitment story line should be fun on its own . Everything else is just a bonus

"Your Faction's Tutorial" is where you'll meet the "mysterious benefactor " ... so you probably can't skip it ...

It's amazing how many people give into the hype, and don't even read the other Blogs ... there isn't going to be any new "Storyline" (ok probably depends on your definition) ... but you'll only get some hidden clues, within the same old Missions (Klingon War - Breen etc ...) -> that's the "parallel Storyline" ... probably some Minigame, or new Console to interact with ...
Delta Recruits on missions will occasionally find additional mission steps asking them to locate something on the map that will help fight a war in the future.

-> Point being ... you're not gonna miss out on much "story-wise" ...

Dont know if this was allready asked or Answered, but i dont wanna go through 56 Pages and Search between the Lines, so my Question about this Delta Recruitment thingy would be:

Whatever is "new" on those Missions, and whatever we will Get from playing with that Delta Recruit (unlocks, items and so on) will it be Faction Specific? How many Delta Recruits we need to unlock / get Everything that is avaible? one per Faction? (Fed, Kdf, Rom) or just one character? or even 3 Characters per Faction so a Tac / Eng and a Sci so 9 Chars in Total??? If we only go with one Character so Just one Faction, will we Miss anything on the other 2 Factions? Be it Story, Rewards, Unlocks whatever?

And is it allready known what exactly we will get other than that Ship Trait? (and what trait that will be, is that Trait an Account Wide Unlock anyway??)

In the Official News i dont see many Details, so would be Great if someone could bring some Light into the Darkness

I'm still not fully convinced to create another character. Since I have 3, I barely have time to play now. And 3 more that I rarely play. So I'm not sure how a 4th will really help.

Hope they show some of the rewards for doing this in a blog. Before I make my final decision when it comes live.

It has been asked, but like other questions, answers are not forthcoming.

But considering they only give one free character slot, I sincerely hope they don't try to pull off a fast one on this, because if it turns out players are required to buy slots or delete characters after all, the forums are going to explode with rage-threads like never before.

There was a podcast that gave out some of this information. There will be a new cutscene and new optionals...pretty much the same missions as before but with a different experience. They mention it will be account bound so I believe all you need is one.
The ship trait will grant the ability for you and anyone who teams with you to earn dilithium per kill. I believe this is just for the Delta Recruits but it benefits everyone. If you join a STF and someone has it everyone will gain dil per kill...how much dil per kill hasn't been released yet.

is it a ship trait, or simply a trait? I don't think it has actually been clarified, but my impression was that it was going to be more akin to a racial trait.

I don't know if this has been suggested before but I would really like to see a featured episode re-run during this Delta Recruitement event. That way we could get all the unique rewards (shard of possibilities, ophidian cane etc) for our delta recuits.

    This would be greatly appreciated.

Hasn't been suggested a lot, only about a million times or so.
But why even bother asking since it's obvious that they'll do a FE rerun to go with their new character creation promotion thing.

Probably not during the actual event, but most likely very shortly after.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I'm sorry but no... I've already sank enough money into my main playing the catch up game from a long hiatus after a nasty bug ridden release. The grind was acceptable until recent changes to XP and patrols. Now ya want me to make a new toon to participate in an event that has a couple of worthwhile items and do that same grind all over again? Not no but HELL NO!!! I already have 16 char slots all dilithium farmers and none of them over lvl 11. Do ya get the hint? I don't want an alt, I want to play my main which I enjoy. And no way in hell am I going through he dilithium sink of upgrading for them. Not happening. Give us a way to unlock it on our mains and I will be interested.

I am only 2 months into the game and a little over lvl 40 and I definitely dont want to replay these missions I just did. So I either move on to another free game or continue on with my main with out all the delta rewards.

    ...

I don't know, I'm getting really bored of people raging about "oh I'm so fed up of grinding I don't want to roll new toons RAGE RAGE RAGE RAGE DOOOOOOOOM".

I understand some folks are sick and tired of the grind, just don't play a new character! Go play a different game for a few months and then come back! I'm so utterly sick of seeing people raging and moaning on the forums apparently for the sheer hell of it. If you don't like the game or it doesn't provide any sense of enjoyment for you simply stop playing the bloody thing and go do something else with your life for a while. I've lost count how many times I've taken breaks from various MMO's to get over the tedium of the grind which comes with the territory of this game genre. The same when people moan that it's too much grind when they've got 15, 20, 30+ characters. I'm sorry, but that's a stupid number of characters and of course it's going to feel like a full time job playing all those. Let's be realistic here!

Some of us are enjoying the event, don't try and TRIBBLE over everyone else's parade.

I'm actually really enjoying playing a new character, doing the remastered Klingon War and Romulan missions with a character which doesn't have five years worth of great gear which will breeze through it. I'm reading all the dialogue, taking my time collecting all the R&D mats... enjoying the game at my own pace while getting the Iconian tech and the story that comes with those. It's very refreshing instead of constant PvE queues.

I for one do have alot of characters (31 now) and play them all, all but one are Lvl 50+ (my other Delta Recruit) and did enjoy replaying the Romulan missions again after about a year or so, my first Delta Recruit is past 50 and I am now just finishing up the last of the mission so I can collect the reward, and then will swap over to my 2nd one and start on him.

As another poster mention if you don't want to do this event then don't but don't ruin it for others that do.

I'm sorry but IMHO your not getting the full benefit of those Lvl 11+ as dilithium farmers you almost have to have them to atleast the dysons sphere to get a full load out of them unless they are KDF farming the hell out of Pi Canis.

    You used the Miranda?

This has given reason to dust off old ships I unlocked through the type of game I purchased. Yeah those Connies, NX, etc by buying the game from different retailers and different versions to collect unlocks.

I rolled up a new Fed Delta Recruit and decided to do everything I had not done before. Had so much fun, I did the same thing on the KDF side. I've been playing STO a very long time, so I'd forgotten most of the details of most of the Featured Episodes. So far I am enjoying myself.

If one of the intents of the Delta Recruit add on was to inject some fun back in this game, in my case it has worked spectacularly.

Question, i seem to to missing it somewhere,

What persists after the timer, i know the diletium on kill goes away, but will i be able to finish up the rest (like getting the traits)?

I don't know that i am going to be able to speed run it all before the timer pops.
