This is Pharell Williams, and I have his wicked hat picture as an avatar now because I'm happy!!!
And you've been away from here for far too long , my avatar has been Gowron and his crazy eyes for almost a year before this.
I'm getting old, lol.

Wow... as amazing as that looks - I wonder if they modeled the battle bridge on to the battle section when saucer sepped.
They haven't mentioned to be updating the interiors. And technically while the saucer is separated we'll be in space view, so we can't be on the battlebridge and see it anyway.

Hmm, that trait might be interesting. Depending on how much damage it deals and how far the explosion reaches, it might be worth taking RSP3 and turning that COM eng into something somewhat useful. Well, I'm assuming it's going to have a COM eng anyway.
Cmd Eng was always useful between DEM3 and A2SIF3.
The RSP Explosion trait is probably going to be buffed by PartGens and Aux power, considering it's non-weapon damage (IE Exotic)
I am kinda happy to hear that they are not going to tackle the Gal-x, or the other dreads it seems for that matter, at the same time as the other Galaxies. Since the Gal-X is not really the same beast as the other Galaxies variants an so should get its own rework an update, with it getting the focus it deserves for what it is an not being thrown in as well as tied to the other Galaxies. Which would than be splitting time investments betwen two types of ships, the galaxies being exploration cruiser while the Gal-x being a dreadnaught, which might end up putting it into the same place it had been in. This could mean we will see it added later in a dreadnaught update with the other dreadnaughts from the roms/KDF,, which i would welcome an enjoy as it gives us the chance to give our thoughts on what should be done with these (atleast the Gal-x) ships to better suit them in the playerbase's eyes. Hope the devs will take that into account even just the fact of looking at what kind of visual updates or alterations the playerbase that uses these dreads would like to see added to them, even if the layouts or other factors are left compltely to the devs.
While I am very happy to see the ships getting an update, my initial reaction is lukewarm.
My Rom is a T'varo/Faeht jockey.
I have all the Battlecruisers, including the command 3pk, T5U Vor'cha, and T5U Kamarang. Just missing the Bortas *cough* and the Neggie, and just not feeling the need for this ship. If it was a Vor'cha or K'vort I would take the plung.
Now for the Andromeda, if it can use Saucer Seperation, 3 tact abilities, and a LTC Sci, it would be an upgrade from my T5U Fleet Ambassador.
Now let's get these Andromeda parts on the Nebula and Galaxy-X and a New Orleans class light cruiser/Destroyer released.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

T6 updates for the Kamarag & Vor'Cha
Heavy Cruiser & a Movie Era Style AoY Utility Cruiser
Im stoked the model got reworked, even if I might not buy it. If they give it a fail Boff layout like before then I'm saving my money. I'am very happy to see a T6 for each faction this is honestly how they need to release ships from now on, 1 for each, KDF/Rom still need caught up in ships though.
The trait kinda blows in my book, no where in the shows can I think of any of those 3 ships did anything like that. I would rather have seen a torpedo/beam type trait. Preferably a torpedo one to actually get people using them again.
I'm crossing my fingers that we get the Venture class necells from AGT/DS9 as costume parts since they redid the negvar.
Reserving my final judgement on to buy or not till after I see their layouts, honestly I hope they all have a updated fleet D'd layout, then they atleast have flexablity reguardless of hybrid stations.
New guy in charge for now, you get a thumbs up! And G-X lovers keep your chins up im sure they will do a T-6 of it, and if they fixed the G-R model they will likely fix the G-X.
I am greatly saddened by this unfortunate news. I was hoping at least the components commonly shared by the vessels would be updated.
But then again, they could just be saving it for the tier 6 Galaxy.
On the upside, the tier 6 version will actually upgrade all normal Galaxy visuals, so that's cool by itself.
The Dreadnaught will have her day.
i am sure it will come in time, and since they"redo" all of the original galaxy part, most of the work is done already.
let be patient, i have no doubt we will have it too:)
Not really liking the new looks so far on any of the three, but that's not why most of us are here. Once again, specs, particularly BOff layout, are going to be the make or break for me. If they're solid, I'm probably picking up the three-pack.
I'm not sure how the BOff layout will go, as since the three ships have the same console and trait, it's likely they'll have the same BOff layout. Galaxy and Negh'Var are pretty similar, but the current D'Deridex is pretty different. The only thing that would allow both Galaxy/Negh'Var and D'D layouts to fit together is rather out there with several Universal stations, including at least one Lt. Comm.
In addition, while equipped, this console also provides a passive bonus to max sub-system power levels.
[raises eyebrow] That could be interesting. 130 Weapon power all the time, possibly higher, depending on how this works (5 being the minimum guess due to most warp cores giving +5 to max subsystem for their variant, but Obelisk is +10). These may not need OSS at all with that...
But seriously man, if that's the only visual complaint, we're doing good here. They just chose one canon representation over the other. Probably trying to keep to Generations.
I'm just hoping these carry over to the Dreadnaught.
ya, if thats the only thing to complain about, thats pretty great. will need to see it in person though of course.
Gotta take it one step at a time though. I'm sure it will come eventually. Maybe. >.>
and the abomination takes it's rightful place in obscurity, and there was much rejoicing. as long as that thing exists, the real galaxy will always have to be made intentionally worse.
ya, if thats the only thing to complain about, thats pretty great. will need to see it in person though of course.
It's not just the graphics update. From those screenshots it looks like the resolution was improved.
Do you guys remember a couple seasons back when they rearranged how the graphics scaled. Something about using one set of graphics far away but switching to better scale of graphics up close and the way they were doing it before was inefficient. I feel like with these revamps we're really able to appreciate that now.

Speak for yourself, I've always loved the Galaxy-X. So no rejoicing here...just patience.
But I don't agree with that statement.
The Galaxy-X doesn't hold the Galaxy back. As said above, they're two different beasts. A Galaxy-X is locked into a tactical/strategic configuration while the normal version is the legendary jack of all trades she was designed to be. Maybe in Cryptic's "All Tac Everything" world, The Dreadnaughts existence prevents the Galaxy from having her rightful firepower but you and I know better.
"Rise like Lions after slumber, In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew, Which in sleep had fallen on you-Ye are many they are few"
I must be crazy, am I the only guy that runs Eject Warp Plasma in that top spot?
only worth slotting if you also run multiple particle consoles, otherwise its just a hold that has nearly indistinguishable function vs a LTC level skill. but frankly, the skills at LTC are move valuable then whats left at COM, thats sort of a dump spot for eng stations. EWP is useless in pvp, EPtE bonus speed utterly ignores it and every other movement debuff.

ya most of the older ships somehow looked worse after that update.

it absolutely holds it back. wile there is a galaxy X at the same level, they will never allow the galaxy R to have a tactical bone in its body, even though its by a wide margin the most powerful starfleet ship in canon (-2379). and with how DEEPLY subpar the X is, the R has to somehow be even worse. the R never got to be a jack of all trades, it was stuck as a literal opposite, with the least useful, least flexible station setup even possible. and thats were it had to stay, because the X was only ever so better then that.
i only hope leaving the X behind finally lets it breath a bit, and if the X is eventually raised up too, well you win as well, because it would have to be made better then a good R.
Well with the fgact of the T-6 galaxy and KDF/Rom varsions being now displayed on the launcher an scuh. I think we could look into what kind of updates an changes we would like to see in the Gal-X an other dreadnaughts if they choose to do that later on in the expansion, such as layoout hanges, visual changes, and other such things for them to have as a check list of desires from the playerbase that wants these dreads reworked/updated.
I would like to see the third Nasselle/pylon removed from the drive section an made it's own option so that you could either run the Dread with it, or without it an even having it that you could maybe switch it out for a mission-pod instead.

I hate PvP personally, and I use it primarily for the PvE hold, and to get rid of errant heavy torpedoes while FAW is on cooldown. It's proven useful against Crystalline fragments as well.
But definitely a dump slot. No, here's a sad story, I ran Aceton beam for my first two months because I didn't know any better...and I never once felt like it did anything.
If Aceton beam turned your ship into an aceton assimilator and the damage it did was directly proportional to incoming damage, then it would be something.
ya most of the older ships somehow looked worse after that update.
When I actually looked at my Galaxy-R on tribble when I was looking to see if they had updated the visuals I was stunned at how bad she looked and I don't remember he looking that bad. On my alt's Galaxy-X I use a lot of Venture parts, and I thought the Galaxy looked fine a couple of years back. It was jarring.

But that doesn't have to be the case at all.
The Galaxy X being somewhat tactical focused (doesn't even have a LtCdr Tac slot) wouldn't affect a Galaxy-R NOT having a LtCdr Sci slot, or the lack of high level engineering powers. or certain devs not liking the Galaxy (if that's true).
"Rise like Lions after slumber, In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew, Which in sleep had fallen on you-Ye are many they are few"
It would be nice to have some changes made to Aceton beam that could make it more useful than it is now. Like maybe that it will jump to other targets in range when cleansed from the target (via thigns like Hazzard emitter) maybe via a duty officer. Or having it do a stacking buff that increases radiation damage on the target, or a gain a debuff stack when the target takes radiation damage till reaching 5-10 stacks an then explodes which debuffs those in range slightly reducing thier damage an leaving a weakerradiation dot on them.

even in pvp, a non tac heavy cruiser setup has little value, everything is so twitch, and disables are so powerful, that heal boats and teamwork are practically useless. and of course in pve, you want DPS over anything else, a LTC tac is super important for getting that.
fun fact: a long, long time ago when c store ships were a new concept, the excelcior R and galaxy R got each other's correct station setups.
fun fact: the 20 years past it's sell by date excelsior, at tier 5 level having the worst station setup, would have actually been accurate, and a galaxy R being a slightly more tactically powerful then a sovereign, with a LTC tac, would also be more accurate.
fun fact: also, the nebula should have been a cruiser that had a LTC sci, to complement the LTC tac galaxy.
fun fact: defiant and excelsior fanboys being in charge, ruins everything.

oh and i forgot to add, the correct intrepid station setup would have been something like

LT eng ENS uni
it was only the defiant, of those 3 hero ships, that got a spot on accurate station setup. that ship is basically only tac, even though its station setup might not be totally ideal, thats simply what it should have.
thats the part about defiant fanboys ruining everything, the galaxy and intrepid got forced upon them a defiant style station setup, setups that are literally the opposite of correct.
Really, I am... happy. Not angry. Maybebecause I am completely fine with a pathfinder layout those ships will probably have. But I am... not angry... XD

god i hope it comes with 3 tact consoles and not 2. that would be one of 2 sales killers for me. the other only having access to a lt tact station.
That would be disappointing indeed!
A D'D styled layout would be perfect.
EDIT:
There's one thing i didn't quite understand, do all the iconic ship now have the same BOFF layout or does each ship get treaten differently?

I actually meant the 'battle bridge dome' on the neck when you saucer sep. On the current galaxy it's smooth with just the phaser strip beneath it.
And I don't mean I want them to stink. My wallet does. lol.
